Thia will step into the fray alongside her companions. How did I get to be in this place? I'm sure I'm cut out to be a librarian or sage, not some sort of a warrior. She looks for an opening and tries to skewer one of the injured raiders, whilst trying to keep out of the way of a counter attack.

Despite their armor, the first raiders are overwhelmed. Rogram immediately cuts one down, going high above his shield and into the collarbone. The other forces Yevele away with his shield, but Thrax's spear and Thia's rapier pierce through the links of his chain shirt. He slides, dying in a sitting position as the rest of the human raiders charge in behind with their scimitars brandished. Thia's weapon clashes with the steel of a raider, and Yevele falls back on her heels to avoid being gutted. Smoke is too fast for his opponent, but a stone comes careening in through the breach as a kobold celebrates a hit against the tabaxi's flesh. The second kobold never gets its shot off; Smoke's insult causes blood to pour from its nostrils, and it stares in shock as it falls over dead.

Thia leaps back on her feet, keeping out of range until the moment her opponent shifts her eyes toward Rogram's approach, then lunges at full extension; her rapier punches through leather and into the raider's ribs, then Rogram cuts her down.
Smoke is simply too quick for his opponent to handle with his lighter weapon. As the man's blood sprays across the walls of the ready room, Yevele snaps the jaw of her opponent with a heavy swing of her staff then kicks him in the chest for good measure. He falls.
The kobold, the last of this second wave, slides to a halt before charging through. Too late, it throws its hands up in a meager defense, and Thrax thrusts his spear through both and into the kobold's chest.
The sounds of battle have faded from the courtyard, and the immediate threat in the ready room has been swiftly dealt with.
OOC: Each character has received 65 XP for defeating the first attackers, and 40 XP for defeating the second wave, for a total of 105 XP.
“Let’s get this door mended before anyone else comes through. Though I suspect that little melee will discourage anyone wanting to deal with us!” Thia looks drained but jubilant as if she’s just survived her first brush with death. That was ... amazing. Maybe I should do more of this fighting thing. It’s somehow liberating.
Thrax quickly Places his spear on his back and returns his attention to mending the defenses. He works as quickly as possible, doing his best to ignore the carnage around him.
Rogram runs both sides of his sword along his pant leg before sheathing the weapon with a flourish. He turns soft eyes on the others. "Thank you all for helping defend my people. I know you have been thrust into this conflict and are battling to save your own necks, but I still appreciate it."
At Rogram's statement, Yevele nods her head in acknowledgement, not sure what else to say, although a statement of Lao Te's did cross her mind 'We may not live in the village, but, we (meaning the monks at the House of the New Moon) and the villagers need each other. They provide us food and the occasional labor. We provide them our labor and other resources that we have. We can't turn them away in times of need.' While the House of the New Moon may have been far away, Leosin clearly had some connection to Greenest, which means that Yevele now had a connection to the town.
After looking at her wound and doing her best to bandage it, Yevele will go in search of lumber and nails that might be useful in helping seal the breach off.
Two minutes is all Thrax needs to completely seal the breach. When his spell finally ends, it looks as if nothing had ever burst through the sally port, the grain of the wood matching perfectly from one side to the next. Smoke does not see any further approach from the besieging force, though the lights of their ring of cookfires still shine in the distance, casting an orange pallor in the midnight sky.
Escobert the Red, warhammer dripping with blood from his own battles, looks on with a smirk."Don't honestly know if we'd be here without ye. We can take it from 'ere," the fierce castellan says, extending a hand toward Thrax. He and some of his men, accompanied by Yevele, set to further securing the sally port in the event that the raiders attempt the same attack.
By this hour, there are only a few hours until dawn. The tired and beleaguered citizens and travelers inside of the Keep, most awakened by the intrusion, now cast grateful glances your way, a fact that Escobert makes known. "Ye're makin' quite the name for yerselfs. Ye keep this up and ye'll get yer own statue."
After finishing helping fix the sally port, Yevele will head off and try to find some place to get some rest, preferably out of sight of the villagers. She has mixed feelings about the attention she is receiving. On one hand, it is nice to get the attention and thanks, but, it also is at odds with her monk training, where they are not supposed to see themselves as better or superior to other people.
Smoke sighs after seeing the gap fully prepared. Well done Thrax.
After hearing they might even get their own statue Smoke perks up. A statue, yes. His vanity taking the better of him. He puffs his chest and starts to practise some positions of how his statue would pose.
It could say Smoke the Daring, no Smoke the Savant. He is lost in his thoughts a few moments more before coming back to reality.
Rogram walks past Thrax, placing a thankful hand on the lizardfolk's shoulder as he does so. The half-dwarf approaches Escobert, his eyes soft. "Sir, I'm still worried about my family. I think I'd like to use the hidden gate below to escape the keep and head toward the southern farmland to see if I can find them since they aren't here."
Thrax bows his head slightly as he shakes the hands of both Escobert and Rogram. “All glory to Gond.” He replies humbly. At the mention of a statue he chides Smoke “Let’s it get ahead of ourselves, there’s ssstill the dragon to contend with, and an army outside these gatesss.

Escobert places a hand on Rogram's shoulder and looks him hard in the eyes. "Now son I ain't for stoppin' ye, but the way I sees it, ye go off by yerself without yer new friends and yer only killin' yerself. Ye go off with yer friends and yer killin' all o' us. Yer da's been 'round 'ere longer than I have. He's too tough to let himself get kilt, now.
