Smoke's kobold answers back in Draconic, "Humans know camp. I think it...that way. Dragon lady have name, with R. I don't remember, it just dragon lady!" It points back in the direction of the entrance to this low campsite, then continues, "Thirty, at least! One hundred? We are many."
Meanwhile, Thia's kobold responds in Draconic, "Goal? To win! We fight, and then win or lose, but want to win. Cyanwrath is in charge!" it nods exuberantly.
OOC: If Rogram were not Rogram, he would suggest the party spare one of the kobolds to bring along. However ...
Rogram asks Thia to repeat what she learned. As she is speaking, Rogram glares at the kobold. Once she is done, he shakes his head. "They don't know anything," he growls in Dwarvish. "Let's spill their blood and keep moving before they do the same to my family."
Thrax watches the Kobold as This and Rogram urges its execution. He is surprised to see his friend so thirsty for blood, he considers sparing the helpless creature, but if it will help his friend cope with his trauma he supposes its worthwhile. "I do not believe we have anything else to learn from this one." He turns his head Rogram and nods.

Thia stands, wipes the dust from her hands and walks off back to the main camp, leaving Rogram to do the dirty deed. I hope getting mixed up in this strange business does not cause us to lose our way. Executing prisoners... it's never an easy decision, even with things as basely evil as these.
Still speaking Dwarvish, Rogram begins to walk around to the back of the kobold. "Greenest is full of good and decent folk. Welcoming and loving, even. I don't know how many we lost during your meaningless attack, but you and your dragon lady will pay for what you have done." He draws his longsword, takes a steadying breath and swings.
Yevele will remain standing behind the other kobold holding her quarterstaff, waiting for word from Smoke about the details he is getting from the kobold.
Smoke stands there watching the kobold a moment. Then looks down to his belt takes out his dagger in one hand.
He takes a few steps closer to the kobold walking past it feeling the blade's edge with his other hand. Then proceeds to cut the ropes that hold the kobold. He points towards the trees in (not in the direction that the main army seems to be moving) and speaks some more draconic words
Go, you are free. Do not come back!
He motions to the any of the group to hold off on attacking it. Once he is several feet away from them he says The kobold knows little but it said the prisoners are being taken to the camp. Where they wait for the dragon lady's command. The name starts with an R but thats all i got out.
Smoke turns to see how the others are doing. Then adds They have many, more than the kobold could count i believe. The camp will have to many soldiers for us to fight if it was the truth.
While Yevele did not think they should have let the kobold go free, she would not do anything to stop Smoke from setting it free.
"If we run into additional human raiders, perhaps we should tell them that we came across this camp and found the kobolds ambushing the humans."
After pausing a second to her companions react to this suggestion, the monk continues "Why don't we travel for another hour and then take a short break to catch our breath and wits. I'd suggest stopping here, but, with the kobolds fleeing this may not be the best location to rest."
ooc definitely like a short rest to get Yevele's ki points back.
Thrax watched tensely as Smoke released the prisoner. He cared little as to what fate would befall the raider, but he was concerned that Rogram would take offensive at Smokes display of mercy.
At Yevele s suggestion a rest Thrax nods in agreement, “A short rest is sensible, but I worry we could lose them if we linger for too long. We are close to their main army now, best not to let them ssslip away.” He hissed.

Rogram's sword flashes briefly in the dying firelight, then it comes down, silencing one kobold's frantic answers as Smoke cuts his kobold free. The living kobold pants and gasps as it runs up and over the surrounding hillside, disappearing into the night.
OOC: A short rest is possible, but you are also nearing the point of taking a long rest. If you do wish to press on into the night, you will have a couple hours of travel before having to push past your limits.
OOC can we access the plateau from here, particularly the point where Yevele was able to hide among the rocks and watch the interaction between the raiders and kobolds?
"Maybe we should seek some high ground and stop for a rest? I know you folk seem indomitable, but I'm just a poor elven scribe at heart and not meant for running all day and all night."
OOC: Yes, the slope around the area is not terribly steep, simple enough to climb without a check.
If the party is deciding to rest, let me know whether short or long, and where you would like to rest. I don't want to get hung up too long on deciding the specifics, so majority wins here if discussion starts taking real-life days.
After wiping his sword on the kobold's tunic, the sound of the fleeing creature catches Rogram's attention. His mouth drops open as he watches it scurry away. He then turns to look at the others. He stomps toward them while sheathing his sword and the magical disguise melting away. "Why did you let it go?" he asks, anger and disappointment mingled in the timbre of his voice. After Smoke repeats to the half-dwarf what he said to the others, Rogram harrumphs, but doesn't argue. He turns his back on the tabaxi and marches toward the area where the dead kobolds lay (or did we kill just the one?), calling over his shoulder, "I'm going to search these bodies to see if they have anything on them that might be helpful. I suggest you do the same with the humans."
Rogram hasn't yet forgotten how he felt after not getting sleep, but he is also anxious to find his family. He will impatiently say they need to sleep, but he'll want to wait until they've traveled farther.
"Already searched them, Rog. Nothing of value or interest I'm afraid. Now can we just get some sleep?" Tempers are fraying, we need some rest. Everything will look better in the daylight. Thia looks up to the outcropping above them.
Smoke hears Rograms question, laced with anger. He waits a moment before responding. He gave his answers in exchange for his freedom as the terms stated. I simply honored my word.he says stoically
After sharing the other information he looks around to see what the others are doing. We should have a short rest, if we are able we should keep moving. I worry this rearguard they mentioned might stumble upon this place while patrolling.
Smoke will find a spot to sit down a moment and clean his weapon before stowing it again. Sitting and looking around pondering what their best move is.
"Why don't we head up there" Yevele says as she points to the rocks on the mesa. "We can get a good rest, and be ready to move out come daylight. There is probably less chance of someone finding us up there, and people on watch will have a good view of surrounding area."
Thraxstares out into the night and ponders what evils await them beyond the hills. He does his best to ease his mind with prayer, but he is restless and uneasy as he broods on the threat of the unholy scourge they are tracking. After a several long minutes of intense silence he stands up and declare "Gond give me strength." and concludes his brief ritual.
He looks up to the rock Mesa and nods at Yevele, "Yes that seems like a suitable place to rest until dawn. But we must not linger longer in this place, we should head out at first light."

"Tell us Cyanwrath's goal. What is he trying to achieve? And is he in charge?" Thia asks the kobold in Draconic.
She then turns to Rogram and in dwarven says, "This critter is just about answering. Don't clobber him yet."
