OOC: There are a number of implements that could still be used, like more of these lassos, but Karib would understand at this point that it's a tough ask. On top of the guard drakes' strength, they now seem very untrusting (if Karib tosses a kobold body into the pit, the drakes remain huddled behind the pillars, unwilling to approach the party again). There are no other gates within the area, only the gate that was described at the bottom of the stairs. The rest of the pen is one large open area with a few columns of rock.

Rogram Perception: 11
Rogram leaves the room, scouting ahead into the stairway leading upward and out of the area.\
For Rogram:
As you near the top of the stairway, you notice that the top step is definitely rigged to crumble and let the ceiling fall onto the occupant of the stairway beneath it.
(( @DM: Does the description above mean that we can move around and see everything in the pit (throw more light-stones if necessary)? If so, I guess we just move on. ))
OOC: Yeah, I'm assuming that you're taking the time to examine the pit as much as possible with those descriptions.
For Rogram, to get a view into the chamber ahead would require climbing onto that top step. Pausing that description to make sure you are willing to do so, since Rogram's Perception was high enough to spot it.
Smoke sees Rogram examining the stairway heading upward into the next chamber.
Seeing that there is nothing down below other than pain and blood, Karib moves off in pursuit of Rogram. "Look out for more traps, this place is full of them," he says helpfully.
How tall are these steps that you have to be on the top one to see into the next chamber?! No, Rogram will not step onto the top step. Is it possible to jump over the step?

Seeing the others moving away from the drakes, Yevele will follow behind, taking one last glance over the area to see if they might have missed anything.

OOC: I realized that the path past the stairway hasn't been shown visually yet, so it should make more sense once I include that image and describe the view for the rest of the party. Apologies, things get more difficult to describe when the party starts to split. One could easily jump over the top step, but would be putting themselves into the room itself. Yevele does not see anything that was not already previously described.

Karib and Yevele rejoin Rogram and Smoke in the stairway ahead. Rogram stands near the top of the steps, looking ahead to where the stairs flatten out before turning into a second stairway. The tunnel leading to the stairs ahead is empty, but a room opens up in this chamber to the right of the first set of stairs.
Smoke moves closer to Rogram, making sure to check the stairs for trap as he slowly moves up.
He whispers to Rogram, Did you see anyone?
If the stairs seem safe Smoke will move up and look across the room, unless he spots someone Smoke will move into the room staying at the edge of the stairs and wave the others to follow up.
As Smoke attempts to pass by Rogram, the half-dwarf sticks out his shield arm, stopping the tabaxi. He motions forward with his bearded chin and speaks just above a whisper. "There's a trap on the top step." He then look up at the ceiling. "See that?" attempting to draw attention to the barely-held-together mass of rocks. He looks back at Smoke. "I'll jump over the step. Cover me." Rogram takes a deep breath and then leaps over the step, preparing to defend himself against any problems that might result.
Karib will follow behind, but whispers to Rogram, "Sure you don't want me to lead lad? I've got a good eye for detail." His shield begins to glow again, "As long as there's light."
Rogram draws the party's attention to the ceiling, which indeed looks to be on the verge of collapse, little more than loosely held boulders. The half-dwarf crouches and leaps over the top step, onto the flat floor beyond it.
Past Rogram, the tunnel continues forward to another twisting set of ascending steps. To the right, the tunnel opens up to a larger chamber.
Rogram scans the area for more traps. If it looks clear to him, he calls down in a loud whisper for the others to follow, but to be careful of the top step. He then moves forward, still being careful — listening and looking for trouble. If he sees none, he'll start moving up slowly.

When Rogram gives the all-clear, Yevele will jump up over the top stair and enter the landing. She will sneakily peer into the room on the right: stealth20

With Rogram calling out for the rest to come Smoke sighs in relief. Then makes his way over making sure to step over the top step.
Smoke moves a bit forward till the middle of the room but stays behind Rogram, not far enough to look whats on the right in the larger chamber but enough to look towards the stairs/corridor on the left.
Narrowing his eyes to see if he can spot any movement of shifts in light.

Continuing to move carefully, Rogram climbs just enough to peer into the chamber ahead.
Seeing the drakes move back further after a failed attempt to catch them Smoke takes a step back.
Unsure of how they would succeed without putting themselves in danger he looks around. Where did Rogram go? he asks
Stepping a bit further away from the cliff he narrows his eyes trying to peer into the darkness to spot him Rogram? he whispers into the distance
Smoke will walk ahead halfway towards the stairway keeping Yevele and Karib in view. He pulls out his rapier just in case something took Rogram.

Yevele will pull out her bow and move up behind Smoke, ready to provide any cover that she can for Rogram.
Being stopped by Rogram Smoke turns to look at him then nods without a word and moves back to standing position a bit more hesitant to move forward.
With Rograms request Smoke will take out daggers in each hand preparing for another possible fight.
