As Rinn is nearing the light source, about 75 ft from the cave, he watches as Wolfsong, Robwin and another figure begin making their way into a cave opening along a cliff face at the north end of this wood.
As Endure takes lead as one holds the door and two go in front, Blaire follows saying, "Gralk, Jack, Scraps with me. Gralk, Gaatbort, Ox, Beth, keep watch." Endure adds in goblin, "If we need help, we'll throw these through the door.", gesturing toward the men following TT in. All three goblins laugh.
As Endure, Blaire, TT, and Gralk enter the tap house with Jack and Scraps next two them, the two men taking the lead head to an open table near the bar. The four hear one of the ruffians say, "Hey! Is Chet back!", as he turns from the bar to face the opened door.
The dwarven bartender looks up and calls out greetings, "Endure! I don't see you in here often!"
"Special occasion, Grista. Looking to make your current clientele a lucrative offer. Bring us a round of your house special to the table would you?", Endure replies.
"Young man! What's this Chet look like?", Blaire asks as the group continues walking.
A goblin that was hanging out by a side room door moves about half way through the room looking at the group.
Endure sits with her back mostly toward the far wall from the entrance door, two of the men sit to her right, Blaire sits to her left, a seat is left for TT next to Blaire. The wolves circle up beside Endure and TT flanking the party and the other two men sit at the remaining seats at the round. When Gralk climbs up and sits down on Blaire's lap, the goblin who was watching, yelps, and runs into the side room.
The young man who Blaire called out from the bar sits in the last chair of the round table nearly opposite Blaire.
When the dwarf delivers a round to the table, the men don't turn down the drink. Three of them toast you as they take a large swig from their cups as do Blaire and Endure.
"Now, youngling", Endure says, "my companion asked who this Chet is."
"Go ahead big mouth. Who's Chet?", eggs the fellow who originally threatened you and awkwardly backed down just a few minutes ago.
"Well, yeah, see, Chet's one of the leaders; captains? Anyway, he's a tall fellow. Said a few of the men were going to do some aggressive recruitin; said he, Bradley and others had a better way to make money than wait'n on Glasstaff. I dan'no. Seems we're doing alright an' have a lot of time just to hang out."
"Blaire, dear, isn't that Chet one of the fellows that wet themselves when your friends barked at them?", Endure asks calmly in a sultry voice while motioning to Grista for another round at the table.
As you enter the cave, the three of you are immediately aware that you are in a rough-hewn passages way. The tunnel is roughly five to eight feet wide and six to ten feet high.
You don't notice any traps. The tunnel continues mostly northwards for about a hundred feet before you can see it opening up into a larger area.
Robwin about seventy-five feet into the tunnel Cinnaess says in a very low voice (Elvish), "Someone is coming behind us." Almost immediately after, Lia checks in. She and Rinn are just entering the tunnel.
At 100ft the tunnel opens into a cavern.
A cold breeze fills this large natural cavern, carrying with it the faint scent of decaying flesh. A crevasse divides the cavern and is flanked by two rough stone columns that support the twenty-foot-high ceiling. Two arched wooden bridges span the chasm. There are faint lights flickering on the far north end of the cavern maybe 100ft from you on the east side of the crevasse.
The young man looks at you, TT, as the other four are trying to quickly finish their first round to start on the second. "Well, yeah. At least to the bunks, right? Glasstaff ain't paid us the last tenday wage, has he?"
On Endure's comments about Chet, two of the other men chock a bit on their drink.
"Well, I believe TT and I are following the same conversation. You see, earlier this evening a number of your companions got a bit rowdy and are now either detained until morning or dead. Unfortunate, that. However, some of our citizens see potential in the lot of you. We'd like to know more about this Glasstaff. What your current rate of pay is and perhaps hire you on as a paid guard for the town. Isn't that right, TT?", Endure says

Blaire and Gralk nod along while Blaire drinks from her second mug.
As Wolfsong, Robwin, and Cinnaess enter the cavern Wolfsong holds up a hand to to stop the others then whispers, "No guards, not sure how I feel about this, we should be careful." He then sniffs the air and wrinkles his nose, "There are bodies of something here but I do not think they are fresh, keep your eyes out for them anyway." Then he will cautiously make his way into the cavern trying to keep to the shadows as best he can.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Robwin will bring up the rear, behind Wolfsong and Cinnaess((maybe 10ft-15ft gap between each of us?)). He keeps a close link with Lia (who’s back sitting silently on his shoulder) and asks her to keep a close watch for him, while he concentrates on sneaking...
Wolfsong as you flank into the cavern nearing the crevasse, you hear a strange quiet gibberish with mad giggles mixed in and a quiet voice asking in Illuskan, "Smells foul; bits are fresh; seek ye flesh? hehehe"

Rinn see the others ahead, but rather making a noise, he simply stays close to the walls of the tunnel and stealths along behind them (Stealth: 17), leaving them and anyone else, unaware of his presence.
Wolfsong shakes his head trying to clear out the voice then turns to Robwin and whispers, "Unless you are trying to be funny I think there is another mage about. Be on guard."
Wolfsong, You backtrack enough to safely give your hushed message to Robwin as Cinnaess shows herself from the western shadows.
Speaking quietly; In Elvish, Cinnaess says, "A tunnel just west of us leads to a finished area of descending stairs. There are two closed doors. I hear goblin-ease from the south door and Thorasta (common) from the northern door."
She then tips her head and listens. "Something weirdly is within.", indicating the northern open cavern with a nod, "Speaking in my mind like a twisted pixie."
Hearing Endure's enticing way of speaking, seeing Blaire looking like the a lightning storm about to either break into clear skies or tumble forward into chaos with an oddly demure Goblin on her lap and Wolves flanking her and lastly a strange halfling with an otherworldly aura about her, the Redbrands are truly baffled.
On of the red clocked fellows who was leaning against the wall speaks up.
"You're right. D#### shame any of our ilk caused you good folk any trouble. We're not conscripted by Glasstaff. It's a paid gig. Or s'pos'd t' be. He's been lean on payment and started bringing in goblin and bugbear and leaving us to fend for ourselves." (He's clearly got a calus "poor me" cruelty lacing his voice.)
"Now, pay is pay. regular pay; always good. An provid'n protection for coin is somth'n we can understand. Plus, to be honest, most of us ain't into slaven. Too messy; you understand."
He gets an intense glare from Blaire but only grins widely.

You don't notice any traps. The tunnel continues mostly northwards for about a hundred feet before you can see it opening up into a larger area.
Taking a drink from her seemingly oversized mug TT will ask "I take it you boys are planning on moving along once this Chet fellow returns?"
