You all make incredibly good time, though Robwin is rather winded by the pace. Rinn, TT and Wolfsong do see various signs of the manticore having been in this grasslands, but don't find the beasts themselves.
Not leaving Robwin behind, it is a little into true dark when you reach the entrance of the canyon.
How is TT managing the transition to darkness?
Is she using her new lanter recently received from Rinn? Did someone cast light of some sort?
The canyon has a steep twenty-five percent grade along its west end. The canyon is too steep along its north side edged by the grasslands and its south side within the sword mountains' foothills. The west entrance depends east about a hundred feet then curves north for another hundred before you come to a great stone wall extending some fifteen feet out into the canyon from either side with a fifteen foot gap in the middle. You can make out with the lantern and your dark vision this once hosted a grand door. It is full dark here in the canyon.
(DM question - you say this wall once hosted a grand door. Is the door gone or off its hinges? Can we see it at all?)
(( You do not see this particular door at all. From the walls and the gap, you can guess it stood fifteen feet high by fifteen feet wide. The rest of the wall is twenty feet high and the canyon goes up beyond your current vision.
Scouting quietly beyond the wall, you can see not fifteen feet from this entrance are the outlines of buildings that have been cleared of rubble. These first walls, shells of buildings long destroyed are only a couple feet high.
Darkvision Accustomed to life underground, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray. Lantern, Hooded A hooded lantern casts bright light in a 30-foot radius and dim light for an additional 30 feet. Once lit, it burns for 6 hours on a flask (1 pint) of oil. As an action, you can lower the hood, reducing the light to dim light in a 5-foot radius.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Rinn nods and creeps forward to the large wall and peeks through the opening (Stealth: 17 and Perception: 6). He gets out a piece of copper wire and casts a message back to the group, "There is some buildings past the wall. Looks like they're destroyed though. It's clear at this stage though. Move up quietly."
Rinn messages back, "Nothing I can see." He waits for the others to get closer then moves forwards towards the closest building while keeping an eye out (Stealth: 9 and Perception: 5).
As you reach Rinn, Wolfsong, you notice a faint light to the east of your position. It is apparently being blocked by the position of various ruins within the canyon. The canyon is full dark right now. It reminds you of hunting in the deep mountain ravines and canyons of your homeland. It will be several hours before the moon even looks down into this lightness space.
With Lia’s perspective of hight she can see a small fire about a hundred feet east within the canyon. You, Robwin, cannot see the light from it at all from your current position.
When Lia has communicated to Robwin the location of the small fire, he tells the others, “It’s a small fire… maybe a camp? Maybe something more sinister… anyway: 100 feet or so within the canyon. Eyes peeled!…”.
“Sure… … Hey, Lia, just a quick look. Not too close and report back okay? Anyone moving around? Campfire or not? That’s all…”. Robwin sends Lia in, just close enough to see what’s going on then straight back…
Lia reaches out to you, Robwin, again in no time at all. It is a small camp. A couple of dwarfs are sitting around it. There is another large black stone wall between you all and the camp. That is the reason you can scarcely see light from it.
Wolfsong, You from what you saw, there must be is an opening in the wall Robwin described. It is beyond the ruins you are currently in. The remaining building walls in front of you must be higher than those behind you.
Robwin, Lia imparts to you mental images and impressions of the dark shadows of buildings between your position and the wall as well as the wall itself. It is much like the one you came past already only one of its large doors is in tack but hanging heavily angled on the canyon floor.
You have about eighty to a hundred feet to the stone wall you now know is ahead of you (east).
"Those must be the remaining workers," Wolfsong relays back to the others. "I am betting there is an opening close by. Robwin could you have Lia help us with directions? We need to be careful not to scare them, we do not need them attacking us thinking we are orcs or something else."

TT would happily light her lantern as her sight gets impaired by the darkness.

What are you doing?
"Should I scout ahead?" Rinn asks the others.

"Sounds good," Wolfsong answers. "There should be someone around here from what we have been told."

How far in do you go?
Darkvision
Accustomed to life underground, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
Lantern, Hooded
A hooded lantern casts bright light in a 30-foot radius and dim light for an additional 30 feet. Once lit, it burns for 6 hours on a flask (1 pint) of oil. As an action, you can lower the hood, reducing the light to dim light in a 5-foot radius.

"Do you see any of the workers?" Wolfsong asks in return as he attempts to make his way forward as quietly as possible.
Stealth: 10
Perception: 16

Robwin will bring up the rear, keeping 20-or-so feet back from the others. He’ll also send Lia up around 90ft to keep a lookout too…
