Hearing that slashing at the creatures would be a bad idea Wolfsong stares at his hand lamenting how his claws will do him no good in this hunt. Leaning back Wolfsong lifts his head casting his gaze at the sky then crosses his arms in thought, "I should be fine if I draw everything I can from the Wilds. As for how to hunt these things, if they are as simple as you say then we could draw them into a trap with some meat, then as they are eating we drop a large rock on them."
Rinn offers Wolfsong his shortsword, "I've got this if you don't have any weapons that don't slash apart your prey? At least stabbing them shouldn't split them apart into smaller ones, right?"
Wolfsong smiles at Rinn's thoughtful offer raising his quarterstaff Wolfsong usually uses a just a walking stick, "No need friend, I will just have to beat them with this. Just saddens me I can not make use of the weapons the Wilds blessed me with."
“Watch the camp, and the entrance, while we go in…”, says Robwin to Lia. “I’ll call or summon you if we need you…”. He winks at her, and heads in with the others…
Your initial early morning inspection of the canyon doesn't reveal any place where Wolfsong's plan could be carried out, but it is a sound one. In the "village passage" between the first and second stone walls is a shallow dry well. It might work, but would take the better part of the day to dig out deep enough. Ironrune acknowledges using the well nmight work, but if an alternative was available, they still might eventually make the well functional again.
You cautiously open the temple doors too. Ironrune and Grayshard each with a lit torch in one hand and a heavy pickaxe in the other; Ironrune saying, "If any of them have come close to the door, by gods be ready to yank us out of their greedy clutches.
The doors open to reveal the twenty foot wide hall is fifty feet long before another pair of stone doors.
Ironrune points out the antechamber to the north (left) just this side of the inner chamber doors. "We expect there is another chamber like it on the right side too, but didn't get far enough to find how to open it.
Within the open inner chamber with the light shining in through sky portals in the roof, you can see the odd Jellies. Four of them you see. Each are about the size of a large dog. One is on the wall eighty feet directly in front of you, just behind an alter. There is one on the alter, one on the floor just ten feet from the alter in your direction, and one not thirty feet from the inner chamber door, splitting the distance between that door and the alter.
"Well, brass sacks. We wont get to the inner chamber doors without alerting that one.", Ironrune says pointing it out. "At least they aren't moving. Still don't know if any more might be around... maybe even in that antechamber."
Rinn, You move the first ten feet with the large doors on either side of you. As you move the next ten feet, you and the rest of the party at the outer door see the nearest Jelly, now about sixty feet ahead of you, start to shake or jiggle.
Robwin silently thinks to Lia, ‘Come to me, and watch our backs. Stay out of the room we’re heading towards’.
((If the party are too far away to communicate (100ft), he’ll return Lia to her pocket dimension and re-summon her, 10ft behind them, outside the room, and out of view of any jellies, and tells her the same)).
"Be ready, the hunt is on." Wolfsong says quietly to those near him, as he grips his staff tighter before moving the opposite direction Rinn moved angling to keep the slime between him and where he assumes Rinn is while still keeping as much distance as he can away from the slime.
The hall from the outer door to the temple inner door and chamber is forty feet long. As Rinn came within sixty feet of the nearest jelly you could see, it started wiggling. Rinn and Wolfsong get within thirty feet of the jelly to get into the inner chamber. The chamber is roughly eighty feet north to south and sixty feet from the door you are at in the west to the alter in the east. There is an alcove behind the alter. As you split, Rinn north and Wolfsong south, the jelly on the alter also starts jiggling. Neither has moved yet.
There is currently plenty of light from the sky portals in the temple ceiling.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Rinn motions to Wolfsong to stop moving and watches the response from the jelly, trying to see if they respond to his steps/movement or just their presence (Perception: 9 in case you need it).
Wolfsong nods to Rinn, halting his movement and taking a more defensive stance keeping watch on the jellies waiting to see what if anything they do next.
Rinn, Taking a full moment to calm yourself, you get a gestalt comprehension of the situation.
When the party opened the doors nothing happened. When you got within sixty feet of the nearest jelly you saw a reaction. When it started slowly moving or when you got within sixty feet of the next nearest jelly it started wiggling. Theses things didn't need sight or smell to follow you. They were reacting to other stimuli. Slow breathing, like the slow passage of wind was not going to disturb them, but movement on the ground or walls, probably. What would happen when the temperature cooled at night? Would they sense your body heat? Probably. (( Rinn INT 16 Passive Investigation 15 ))

Rinn slowly and carefully gets out his piece of copper wire and casts a message to everyone else to relay this information succinctly. He then gets his bow ready, nocking an arrow but not drawing the string just yet.
He takes another look around the room as his eyes adjust, looking for any other jellies, but also entries and exits, and possible treasures lying about that the dwarven excavators missed or left when attacked by the jellies (Perception: 14).
Seeing Rinn nock an arrow, Robwin starts half-casting various cantrips, so that he’d be ready to attack at a moments notice too, holding his moon egg in one hand and tracing arcane shapes in the air with the other.
He’s a bit back from the others, maybe even outside the entrance to the room, looking in, looking from Rinn to Wolfsong to the others, and to the Jellies, just waiting for a signal to attack…

As you begin investigating the canyon and temple, each of you make an investigation and a perception check; ignore passive and Lia for this.
"These things sound like they could be a handful very quickly." TT will follow in the back of the group.

Lia's response is quick being only sixty feet from you just circling the camp.
