(( LOL! I love that @Grwobert would like the dice to help figure out how Robwin would decide! Too funny! @AndrewFairall roll Persuasion check for TT with advantage. ))
(Sorry was out for a day or 2) TT would be awestruck at the goings on. Seeing the Owlbear struggling to get free she would yell out "Stop!! Its just trying to get free! It doesn't have to die!"
"If it seeks to be free it needs to show the strength that it can be free," Wolfsong hollows back as he continues his charge towards the owlbear, this had not been how he had wanted this hunt to go but he would finish it none the less. Wolfsong runs forward his full 30ft, as he does he draws one of his two remaining javelins abd throws it at the beast.
Robwin listens to TT on one side, pleading to let the creature go; and hears Wolfsong on his other side, pressing ahead with the hunt...
((OOC: I’m losing track a little of where everyone is, and distances. Do we have people right up against the new webs now? Eli, Blaire, Wolfsong etc? Who is ahead of Robwin? Thanks))
Movement: Robwin will advance forward cautiously. He’ll aim to move as far forward as he can, but stay out of the webs, and stay behind at least one other party member for now...
Action: undecided, Robwin will simply take the dodge action this round...
The Owlbear is 100ft north of the castle wall and 35ft into the wood. It is in the middle of a 20ft cube of webs that are 5ft deep.
Robwin, TT, Eli and Blaire are 10ft south of the Owlbear just outside the webbed area.
Wolfsong is 35ft south of the Owlbear.
Rinn is 40ft south of the Owlbear.
Ikki is at the castle wall watching the goings-on with the Owlbear and party while also keeping an eye and ear on the activity in the castle provisions chamber. ))
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Rinn slows down as he sees that he's getting closer to the owlbear. He nocks another arrow, loosing it at the webbed creature and then hides behind a nearby tree (bonus action Stealth: 28).
Seeing the creature fall TT will move up next to it placing a hand on it and whispers a prayer for its safe passage into the next life. Turning and facing the group with tears running down her cheek. "It did you no harm! Who are you that gets to decide if an innocent creature lives or dies for no other reason than it was there. Hunt for food or for the hides to keep you warm," and at this you see her eyes flash a sickly bright green "But decide to kill for the joy of it and you'll get to see the afterlife sooner than you would like!" She will push past them and head out to the outside of the castle .
"I didn't kill for the joy of it," Rinn said as he collected arrows here and there and checked the tips. "That thing was in a real small space with Ikki and I. Not exactly a place I want to question if the big owl bear is here to be friends or not. There are plenty of stories of those things ripping people apart. I'm not keen on being minced meat for an owl bear's dinner. And just because it ran, doesn't mean it doesn't turn around and try to rip someone's face off."
Blaire will look at the others and say, "The Goblinkin can surely use the meat and if I understood Gralk before I left, her King Grol had meant to have a hunt or pet of the beast but didn't know how to accomplish either. I don’t feel TT needs to know that."
"Wolfsong, Rinn, Which of you wants to finish it off?"
"Robwin, Would you drop the webs? I don’t know how TT made through that mess, but I don't want to try myself."
While your companions deal with the Owlbear, TT, you and Eli return to the castle. You find that King Grol has ordered a couple of bugbear and a couple of hobgoblin to repair the north entrance out of the provisions chamber.
Other goblinkin are cleaning up the chambers and halls.
King Grol, Glufs and Gralk also have five geods.
Gralk says slowly to you, TT, "Owlbear destroy part provision for nation tribes for lean time. Blaire say you and her use stone water rock", she shakes one of the geods, "to claim Stonehill clan home. Stonehill clan work find more stone water rock. You. Blaire. Take the stone water rock. Make trade. Replace lost provision. When you hunt white dragon King give two bugbear, two hobgoblin, four goblin."
Glufs adds, "Stonehill clan work in cavern. Work in hills. Listen in hills. Fight with clan. You clan. Yes?"
"Wolfsong," Rinn says as he stands next to his hunting companion, "Would you ease the creature's pain? I am not as good with a blade as you are." He will stand solemnly by as the creature is put out of its misery.
"Aye," Wolfsong nods as he somberly steps up to the dying owlbear, he stares down at the beast and slowly shakes his head as he draws his short sword from his hip, "This was not the hunt I wanted. I had wished to test your strength against my own, to see who would hold the favor of The Wilds, but that is not what happened here."
Wolfsong raises his blade high above his head, "May you find the strength you lost when you join The Wilds." Wolfsong plunges his blade into the back of the neck of the owlbear, holding the blade there until the final breath leaves the beast. After pulling his blade from the beast he turns to Rinn, "This hunt was primarily yours and you did well, so the prize is yours. We could give the meat to the goblins then bring the pelt back to Phandelver have Endure treat it if you choose."
"This is not a prize," Rinn shakes his head, "Though we should take it back so that the goblins have food for a while." He looks at his longbow, deep in thought for a while.
