Yes! Thanks for the ruling on the horns attack. That’s perfectly fine, I might try it next time if Aimon is not already free!
I’ll probably wait for the resolution of Aimon’s “heaves with all his strength to lift the spear out“ before I post my next attack, so that I know one way or the other.
Also, can you let me know how you imagine the stairs? Do they have a huge drop on either side or not so much? Thanks again! :-)
To clarify the imagery, a flight of narrow stairs stretching 20 feet from side to side ascends upwards for about 60 feet. At the base of the stairs, two large pedestals flank the stairscase. These pedestals are decorated with carving and etchings of strange symbols. Atop these pedestals are the two statues that are roughly 20 feet tall. Their flowing robes cover their bodies and a heavy cowl cloaks their face in shadows. The dark stone of your surroundings is slick with moisture and grime. As the statues begin to move aggressively, they both start synchronized chanting in a guttural language full of malice.
Aimon, if you want to escape, make an Athletics Check or Acrobatics Check. You need to beat a 12. If Oak uses his Hammering Horns ability and succeeds, you can make it with advantage.
Aimon twists and turns his body to try and slip free from the stone spear.
(Acrobatics Check: 25 and if he frees himself he will use Cunning Action as a Bonus Action to disengage (without provoking an opportunity attack) and move past the statues 30')
((Oak would be stood in melee range of the statue that skewered Aimon. And seeing the half elf wriggle free, he’ll not need to use hammering horns just yet (also, 20ft tall sounds like the statues are maybe ‘huge’? If so they’ll be too big to push using hammering horns anyway). ))
Oak is relishing the scene in spite of the dangerous circumstances!: the heroes strung out along the length of the stone steps leading up to the castle in the mist; two huge stone titans locked in battle with the brave minotaur; the epic beauty of it all fills his barbarian heart with glorious rage! And he swings with his greataxe again at the statue that had pinned Aimon. ((C’mon!))...
((I'm sorry it wasn't descriptive enough. I had some stuff I had to get to, and I was in a rush describing the scene. I apologize that it was hurried. Sometimes, I don't have a lot of time to go into details. It was my fault that the scene was confusing. I will try to dedicate more time to description from now on. Sorry.))
((not at all! Your descriptions and pacing are better than any game I’ve played. And you don’t know what we’ll try until we try! I say keep it up! :-) ))

After the statues attack and pin Aimon's lithe form to the ground, he manages to escape and scurried up the staircase.
Caelynn moves into a firing position and fires a glowing bolt that sinks deeply into the stone chest of one of the statues.
Oak swings a rage-fueled ax that glances of the statue, throwing a shower of sparks that briefly lights up the scene.
Statue Charisma Saves: 7, -2
The statue that injured Aimon shrugs off the affect of Trill's spell, but the other one succumbs to its effects. It suddenly slouches and fine cracks spread across its body. The stone it is made of becomes rough and weathered.
Jimjar: Crossbow Sneak Attack: 12 Damage: 17
Jimjar fires a bolt that glances of the chest of one of the statues.
Sarith draws both his rapiers and rushes in and unleashes a whirlwind of strikes. One of them manages to find a weak spot and slashes into the stone.
Topsy: Dagger throwAttack: 21 Damage: 4
Topsy hurls a dagger that bounces harmlessly of of one of them.
Eldeth: Warhammer Attack: 6 Damage: 12
Eldeth wades into combat swinging heavily, but her strikes seem to have no affect.
The cursed statue looks down at the entities swarming around it and lashes out with two spear strikes. One will be a targeted at Oak while the other will be targeted at Eldeth. Oak Attack: 18 Damage: 13, Eldeth Attack: 24 Damage: 9.
The other statue steps of of its 5 foot high pedestal and walks in long strides forty feet away from the action. It raises one its palms towards the group and a carved runs etched into its hand come alive with and intense orange light. Both statues give an angry chant before a bead of fire bursts from the rune and arcs towards the group. It detonates, and a fiery explosion accompanied by deafening roar engulfs everyone engaged around the cursed statue. A hot, sulfurous wind blasts away from the eruption that drives away the mist. I need a dexterity save from Oak.
Topsy Save: 17
Jimjar Save: 16
Sarith Save: 22
Eldeth Save: 11
Statue Save: (Bane: -2) -1
Anyone who rolled a 15 or lower takes 20 fire damage.
After the explosion clears and next to the small crater left behind by the fireball, Jimjar's scorched form is sprawled unconscious across the sizzling stone.

Dexterity save for Oak (+4 and advantage from Danger Sense): 11
((@DM: half-damage or no-damage from save?))
Oak sees Sarith and Eldeth both wade in to battle beside him, and his grin widens a little. And a volley of bolts and arrows pepper the scene.
The first statue stabs, and Oak manages to just avoid the tip of its spear.
The second statue starts walking off, but then turns and fires. Somehow, his barbarian instinct kicks in and Oak ducks the worst of the blast, as fire fills his view. Patting himself down, he surveys the crater and sees Jimjar’s smoking body... “Nooo!” he screams, “Medic!... gGrrrrr-r-r-rrrr!...”, he roars, “Mediiic!!...”.
Without a second thought, he whirls round and hacks into one of the legs of the statue everyone has been hitting...
As the flames and smoke of the fireball subside, Oakis looking pretty singed and particularly bloody... but still standing! In his enraged state, he continues to fight bravely on...

This is going from bad to worse. Through the smoke and carnage Aimon can't quite make out what is happening. They had to get out of there before that sentry threw another fireball. They were all going to be taken out if they didn't move.
As some of the smoke clears. He swings his shortbow around and takes aim at the sentry besides Oak and fires an arrow into it, hoping for the best.
Then he turns and heads further up the stairs, looking for somewhere they can escape too.
"You have to get out of there," he shouts down to the others.
(Attack: 22 Damage: 9 plus Sneak Attack (sentry is within 5' of Oak): 3 for total of 18 non magical piercing if he hits and then uses Cunning Action to Dash up the stairs the remaining 30' and then once at the top looking for anywhere the party can get to away from the sentries)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Caelynn curses as Jimjar goes down and she hears the call for a medic. She’s about to show her weapons and rush towards him, but Trill gets there first, and his wounds start to close. Refocusing her attention on the enemies, she repositions herself again so she’s 30 feet from the cursed statue. Another glowing bolt streaks through the air towards its chest.
Jimjar gasps in air as Trill's comforting song washes over him and mends his body. He will Disengage and move 30 feet away to the outskirts of the mist.
((Every time I try to edit my previous post, it changes all the rolls. I screwed up Sarith's second attack, and now the system is begin a moron. Sorry))
Eldeth, while looking badly hurt, soldiers on and swings her hammer, but it has no effect.
Caelynn's bolt strikes the statue, and the cracks around the bolt widen.
Oak swings his ax, and this time, it creates all the way through. The leg detached and shatters against the floor.backwards
Aimon's arrow embeds itself into the stone, but has no effect.
As the statue unsteady sways back and forth, Sarith lunges with both rapiers and drives them both into a crack on its other leg. He twists them, and that let shatters. The status topples backwards and shatters with a deafening cacophony.
Topsy scurries closer to the other statue and hurls a dagger. This time, it disappears into the darkness of its face and sticks into the stone.
At the death of its partner, the final statue begins to chant incoherently in furious anger. It hurls its spear, a fifteen foot long shaft and with an iron tip, towards Sarith. Attack: 25 Damage: 15. It whistles through the air and goes clean through Sarith. It disappears into the mist as Sarith falls to his knees, rapiers clattering to the ground. He falls forward and descends into unconsciousness. The statue places both palms together and pulls them apart. Another spear grows between its hands as it readies another spear.
(OOC from where Aimon is at the top of the stairs is there anywhere he can see that would allow him to get closer to the remaining statue guard without being seen - a passage or ledge or something like that?)
Oak surveys the scene. He’s bleeding, and badly burned. He’s covered in dust and debris from the defeated statue. The drow, Sarith, lays beside him, unconscious.
Oak stows his axe and grabs Sarith. He roars... then shouts to the others (sounding more like an army Captain than he has done so far), “Spread out!!.. We can’t be caught in another blast!.. It can only attack us one at a time if we spread out!...”
With that, Oak carries/drags Sarith to a place of full cover ((ideally down off the stairs and round behind the stairs themselves, away from whichever side the statue is on. Behind one of the status’s plinths or further down behind the bulk of the stairs?)).
From a place of cover, ((if he has enough of his turn left)) he will attempt to stabilise the drow...
At the summit of the stairs, it opens up a small landing. Just 20 feet from the stairs is an ancient, crumbling wall that surrounds the castle proper. An awning arch with a drawn up portcullus serves as the entrance into the castle grounds. Extended the feet from the wall in both directions is a walkway that rings the wall. A low, stone railing adorns the edges. (Hope that makes sense)
(You can pull Sarith to the side of the stairs which will grant you cover from the remaining sentry)
You try to stop Sarith from bleeding out, but adrenaline and your own injuries cloud your memories of how to treat this type of wound.
"Trill! Go help Oak! The rest of us will deal with this idiot!" Caelynn calls out, wishing she could be of more use on the healing front. Unfortunately, she used up her reserves of magic completely after the rockslide. She prays that Trill has it in her to cast another healing spell.
Knowing that worrying isn't going to help anyone, she tears her eyes away from Sarith's broken body. She stares up at the remaining statue with renewed anger evident on her face and fires a glowing bolt towards its chest.
