Overhearing the words from Nanny PuPu to Felix, Irommek turns back to the rest of the group and out of earshot of their strange host.
“Hmmm, it would seem that she does not want a magical oath, just a bargain. We kill the giant chickens and she tells us what she knows about the Soulmonger.”
Addressing Inete, he adds, “And maybe we can get her to throw in some information about the red robed wizard that has been dropping in on your dreams.”
Walking back towards Nanny PuPu, Irommek gives her a slight bow with his head and asks, “If you could provide more information on the exact location of the Pterafolk, it would help us if we agree to this bargain.” Irommek then unfolds their map and shows it to her.
“Oh. The village didn’t happen to have a brewery or a tavern or a general supply store did it? Although I can’t persuade you to partake, maybe we could refill our supplies of ale or wine…or other gear if possible.”
Nanny Pu'pu: " I have no knowledge of the exact spot where the Pterafolk nest is. As you can see, I don't go far. But they come from the southern cliff, I am sure you will have no trouble finding them."
"Look around you, dwarf. Everything here is rotten. Years old rotten. There was a brewery, few yards down the road, but if anything is usable or drinkable is hard to believe."
Gertrude is getting restless as well. "We have 'worked' for others before. The pterafolk seems not exactly a species to protect. This seems to advance our plans, so lets not ruin it like we did with those speaking cranes, they never told us what they knew about the soulmonger. We will come across many who just want to use us for their goals. But if we can get any help in advancing our cause, I think we should take it! Lets go and have a rest and tomorrow morning we'll kill those birds."
Gertrude turns around and speaks to Nanny Pu'pu:
"Do you have anything that would aid us in the fight? A health potion? Or a magic weapon? If those birds are as mean as you describe and wiped out your whole village, then we better go prepared!"
Nanny Pu'pu: " I have nothing else to offer. Except this: in the case one of you might meet a premature death, I can offer... the remedy. Very much like a resurrection. But, if that comes to occur, we shall rearrange my end of the bargain. "
Nanny Pu'pu: " I have nothing else to offer. Except this: in the case one of you might meet a premature death, I can offer... the remedy. Very much like a resurrection. But, if that comes to occur, we shall rearrange my end of the bargain. "
"Well, Nanny Pu'pu, that wouldn't work, would it. With the soulmonger exerting it's curse, no-one can be re-surrected, or better, they can - but they will fade away and die very quickly. Do you know something about this curse that we don't know?"
OOC: Gertrude is ready to head out in the morning and fight the pterafolk.
" The soul isn't the only thing that makes you...you. It will work. It has worked before. Anyway, it is in case of need. Hopefully, that need will never come. "
" So. Do you accept the bargain? The killing of the Pterafolk for the whereabouts of the source of the souls vanishing? "
"If you do not uphold your end of the bargain, I will ask another favour from you. A small thing from the commander of Camp Vengeance."
"You work together with the commander form Camp Vengeance?? What would that favour be? Maybe we can just do it at the same time while hunting the pterafolk. Better to get all things done at once if you ask me! Also, I am willing to go and do this for you in the morning - for the exchange we agreed... and your directions towards the soulmonger better be good!"
" oh my dear, if you want to do it on you own volition, I won't certainly stop you. I need...a lock of hair from the commander, nothing more. I do not work with the people of the Camp. Not directly, anyway. "

As far as Felix can say, the old witch is sincere about the commander of Camp Vengeance and what she wants from him.
Irommek stares out into the ghost town longingly and finally exhales a long breath and gives up on the idea of rummaging through the brewery and coming across a long-lost delicious keg of ale (perfectly preserved of course).
“Very well. I’m with you Gertrude. Let’s agree to the bargain, get some rest and head out in the morning.”
Suddenly his spirits seem to lift as he remembers the Alchemy Jug. Heading over to Felix has asks for the jug, calls forth some beer and takes a deep drink and offers it to the rest of the party.
“Oniss and I can take first shift on watch tonight. Um no offense Nanny, but I would prefer to share a little ale with my watch partner and then sleep knowing that my friends here are watching for any attacks. From the Pterafolk of course.”
Nanny Pu'pu:" Very well. Alea iacta est! You can rest anywhere in the village but my hut. We will meet again when the deed is done. "
The party rest safely in the night. In the morning, a nice and hot day awaits them. As the party starts to leave the village, it is possible to see the same ziggurat Kurma spotted the night before to the west. And to the east...
A floating, massive chunk of earth and rock torn from the earth drifts over the far side of the Aldani basin, maybe about a hundred feet above the ground.
Inete is almost in tears:" That is the Heart of Ubtao. Many believe it is the petrified heart of the lost god. It is sacred to all the Chultans. "
OOC I need 2 Perception checks. Who does these checks is unimportant. Also, Irommek can do a check with the cartographer's tool to get an approximate distance for the ziggurat and the Heart of Ubtao.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Gertrude had an uneasy rest. The shadows and skulls seemed to come alive at night, closing in on her and her friends. She is glad that the sun is up again, quickly burning down onto the lost village. She cannot wait to get going and wakes everyone up as soon as it dawns.
Walking out of the village, Gertrude keeps her eyes open, looking back over her shoulder, wondering what the evening might bring. Then looking ahead ready for the day to begin: 19 (perception)
"Wow, Heart of Ubtao, it is beautiful!!!" She stands with Inete in awe.

Seeing Burnella's body fidget Felix will begin to leave, letting the party come to an agreement.

Gertrude also spots what appears to be a... shipwreck in the jungle. It is to the south, about 100 miles away, maybe more.
