Gotur, the bone is vulnerable to bludgeoning damage. You absolutely shatter the thing with one swing from your staff. It explodes into little bone fragments.
Calador feels an instant relief in his mind as he is released from the curse that the bone had on him.
Calador would've explained everything as his memories become clearer as the minutes pass without the curse upon him. The dig team had found that ancient elven bone and that is when they contacted Landy who had been back in Neverwinter. The bone was hidden in the secret room down below the temple, and when the team found it, Calador was the first one to pick it up. it possessed him right away, and took control. Filled his mind with images of death, cannibalism, and ripping flesh. It made him kill the team. The bone had magic infused inside of it that allowed the bearer to turn a dead body into a ghoul twice a day. That's what he did. He then took an army of ghouls to Havel's Cross and killed everyone. He then came back to the temple and room below to be with his dark thoughts that the bone brings. Landy would be sobbing the whole time hearing all of this.
There are going to be no encounters on the way back to Neverwinter. Just make sure you use your rations or you can roll survival checks to forage/hunt for food. It's 3 days back to the city. If you wanted to question Calador and/or Landy more, or if any of you had any issues with Calador even returning to Neverwinter, or something else you might've wanted to do before the party leaves back to the city, let me know and we will RP it in here.
Once you all get back to the city, you can move up to Level 4! Let me know what each of you might be doing upon your return to the city. Maybe a good idea to split up the gold, and let me know where you are staying, if you are staying together or splitting up for a bit, and then we can pick up each character in a separate 1:1 thread just like the other PC's and go from there. This party can also plan to meet up say in like a week (in game time) to go on an adventure as well, or perhaps meet up with some new PC's. What are the characters up to after this adventure?
Anyhow, that is pretty much it for the Horrors at Havel's cross! I hoped you liked it. It seemed a bit easy although those ghouls really had bad luck. If you had any questions about it just let me know.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Gotur sighs in relief as the bone shatters.
"Think we ought to burn the fragments?"
On the way back, Gotur would keep a close eye on Calador, and provided he didn't give cause for more immediate action, would be quite insistent that he go get checked out at the local temple upon their return.
"Did you find any of what you were hoping to find, or was it just that bone?"
((Last chance to make Gotur roll an animal handling....!))
((Foraging for food along the way... Day 1: 9, Day 2: 13, Day 3: 6))
Ralf had been talking about hiring Alton and Gotur on to help deal with his own undead problem, Gotur would be down for dealing with that, it sounded like a 'deal with it sooner rather than later' type problem, so not sure he'd want to wait a week unless the others were.
((Are you allowing feats, or just ASI? I think I'm going +2 WIS on him though, so his spells are a bit better.))
“Yes,” Alton says grimly to Gotur. “Burning them would be safest I feel. Do you have some sort of spell?”
Alton would be much merrier on the way home, talking with anyone who seems interested. He has two days of rations left, so would need to forage once, but other than that, is happy to return to Neverwinter.
Alton would definitely help his new friend Ralf with any problems he may have at the cemetery. After that though, a week of downtime would be great, and I’m sure Alton would keep in touch with Gotur and Ralf if possible to put together another adventure.
Last thing. Gold wise, I believe we earned 500 from Landy plus the 120 from the safe at Havel’s Cross. That puts us at 620 total and split between the three is 207 gp for two people and 206 for one person. I’d be happy to divide it to where there is an equal split but am also just fine taking the lowest sum. Whatever works, just let me know.
"No spell as such, but we could round up the makings of a campfire and use that?"
((From Gotur's perspective, Ralf has certainly earned his split.))
((He also has a stack of silver, so can make change of 50 silver for 5 gold, which would put the split at 205 gold each and 17 silver for two, 16 for the third.))

Gotur, Calador responds "Honestly we were just looking for ancient relics. We didn't find much in that temple, and was so excited when we uncovered that secret door that we just started to grab anything we saw down there. It was glowing, and so I grabbed it, and that's when it must've attached to me. I... I can't thank you all enough. Most folk would've run me through. How am I going to live with myself with these deaths on my hands! I can't get rid of the images in my head. I will indeed seek out a temple upon our arrival to Neverwinter." (and he does.)
Gotur, the first 2 days you come up empty with foraging, and day 3 you come up big! So please use 2 rations for the trip. Ahhh thank you for reminding me about Zhoggab! He did wait patiently while you all were in the temple. Let's get 3 Animal Handling checks for the trip home. I think you can use Ralf's guidance and/or if someone would be helping you with Zhoggab. Will you be using those treats that you got him? Or other types of food/rations? Or will be be foraging? This will determine his mood on each day (DC's)
Yes I do like the quest surrounding Ralf. Snake - do you have time to get into something like that? I would love to build it out with you, but I don't want to interfere with your school and time and whatnot. Let me know and if you're up for it I will PM you.
I am totally cool with feats!
Alton, you can roll your survival check if you want for the forage day.
Awesome about the gold! I am happy to continue this RP with the burning bones, and any other conversation you might want with Landy and Calador. Calador will be heading to the temple as he said, and Landy will be taking time off and resting as she has been through much more than she can handle.
((Appreciate the offer, but I'll decline the guidance unless there is a case where it would make sense for Gotur to ask Ralf for it or Ralf to see that it might be needed. If the check isn't something foreseen, I'd feel like I was weighting the scale to take the bonus. If there's fresh grass and the like for him to eat, otherwise I have a few days of feed, I guess you can let me know if there's enough for him to graze when we stop, or I can feed him from the stores.))

"Do either of you know if your companions prayed to any particular gods? I think we ought to give them a proper rest... and those from Havel's cross. That's kind of Ralf's specialty, but I've a strong back and a shovel, and we can use Zhoggab to drag the ghoulified remains to wherever we're burying or burning them?"
Gotur, you have no problems with Zhoggab the entire way home! You have been building a proper bond with this animal over the 6 or so days now that you've had him, and he has been a great companion throughout the trip.
Gotur and Ralf set to the proper burial of all of the dead team as well as the patrons from the lodge who were massacred. All of those things happen and would've likely taken half a day including gathering up the bodies, digging, spells and the proceedings.
Snake - are you still into basing our next quest with this party on Ralf's undead issues at the graveyard? There is some very cool lore about the huge graveyard in Neverwinter which is called the 'Neverdeath Graveyard' which is where Ralf works. So let me know if you are down and I'll PM you to get the main storyline and then I will go with it from there.
Make sure you all level up, too! Can you let me know where you all might be staying upon returning to Neverwinter?
Alton, are you doing the usual after you finish a quest and have some money?
Gotur, would you be just returning to your boarding house?
Ralf, you heading back to the Neverdeath Graveyard? I remember you saying Ralf had a place he was living there, like a groundskeepers grave house.
Then once Snake and I hammer out the details of the next quest, we will get it going in a new thread. Characters can take a week off in-game to buy things, or do things they might want to do in the city before the quest. Just get a 1:1 thread with the PC if you want to do that.
Yep! Alton would leave a pouch of 100gp on the doorstep of his parents house before heading back to an inn to stay. He will probably go shopping, and if you’d like, I’m sure we can pick that up and any other things of interest in a 1:1 thread.
Hmmm... Gotur, please roll a straight d20 to see if there is a stable at the boarding house.
Ralf - awesome! I will pick it back up with you then in the Ralfaen 1:1 thread upon your return to Neverdeath. (sorry for the delay there, I likely won't be at 'full strength' until kids go back to school in a week.)
Alton - cool! Yep no problem, I will get one started.
Thank you all for sticking with this adventure to the end!
Solid roll. Gotur, this boarding house has a shared stable where you can keep Zhoggab. There is a stablemaster, and this facility is quite large because it serves most of the boarding houses in that area of the city. It is included in the price of the rent. (remind me, did we go over that in our 1:1 thread? The price of the boarding house rent, I mean?)
Ok I looked through the MM and VGtM and I think I have found the perfect baddies for our next quest/adventure. Ralf, I think you will like it and it will fit perfectly to the background that you've given me in our private thread. It is a little dark as well. Kind of has to be given the monsters. I won't give anymore away.
Looking to kick off things today. Again, real sorry for the delay.
