Remember, Alton is grappled. Any escape attempt is made at disadvantage (STR or DEX check, your choice). Although an escape is not required for Alton to directly attack the mimic, of course.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Venovar, you sardine into the alcove and shove your halberd forward. CLANK! It ricochets off a steel binding of the half-morphed treasure box creature and does not harm it.
Alton, the mimic has both of your arms, but you are able to wriggle around and grab your weapons and use them. I feel it makes sense because the thing kind of has you up around your upper biceps, so you have good use of your lower arms to attack it. Plus you are little and nimble and I think you would be able to still grab your swords which you're super familiar with. The swords stab at the thing, and make a few good stabs into it's half treasure box-half blob form. (-10)
Got-wolf, since you are basically right beside the mimic, you easily are able to bite at the creature, and you dig in deep with your teeth. The thing still has a hold of Alton, but you cause it the 10 damage and you take a good chunk out of it which is in your wolf-mouth. (-10)
This creature is immune to being prone (which makes 100% sense, I love when the game nails the rules), so I won't make the STR save.
Thorvin is up - I am going to pilot him until the player comes back. Casts sacred flame on the mimic: 4 dex save of mimic: 21 since Thorvin is blocked from getting a good view of the box, his magical radiant flames don't seem to harm the creature.
The mimic, still with Alton grappled, has advantage on its attack. It opens it's mouth - treasure box lid and snaps down HARD onto Alton... Attack: 18 Damage: 8 the teeth sink deep into the halfling. Alton, you then feel more pain with some type of acid burning after the initial bite: 5

Venovar I think would continue to stab with his halberd at the mimic. Attack: 7 Damage: 10 the weapon digs in a bit into the blob/box. (-4)
Alton, there is a set DC to escape the mimic's grapple, and you've failed. The halfling struggles back and forth but the tounge still has a very tight grasp on your body. (I used acrobatics)
Got-wolf, you continue to bite at the box, and again take a good chunk out of it. It wriggles around a bit. (-6)
At this point, Thorvin can't reach Alton directly yet, so he would cast Healing Word on Alton: 6
The mimic continues to try and eat Alton as it clenches its jaws shut once again: Attack: 11 Damage: 7 and the teeth dig in and penetrate Alton's body. If that isn't enough, the acid then burns the unconscious body: 7 this leaves Alton with gaping holes in his chewed up body as the mimic spits him out. He lay motionless on the ground, unconscious.
Venovar will use 3 points from his Lay on Hands on Alton, so Alton actually has a turn now. He also puts himself in between the mimic and Alton. That's his turn.
OOC: I might change my action depending on the answer to this question, but did we take a rest before we went down into the sewers and after I used all my spell slots on my mom, since it shows on my character sheet that I have not used any spell slots, but I might has done something wrong.
((Sorry for the delay guys - ok so we did take a rest, but then Venovar again used more magic, 2x protection from good and evil when his mom was in the midst of turning. Snakewarp, I may have inadvertently reset them as I was looking at your character sheet yesterday learning more about Ven and his magic. I am controlling Thorvin's for now, and went over to yours and then must've done it at that point. You're right, Ven doesn't have any spells remaining right now. You can go ahead and update it - my apologies))
Venovar, you slip into the alcove beside the mimic and within reach of Alton and send your healing energies through his body. (+3)
Alton, you immediately open your eyes and feel a slight energy flow through your body as you move around a bit on the ground. No need for the death save.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Alton, this time you are able to escape the grip of the mimic's tongue as you feel the 3hp from Ven flow through your body. You then take the opportunity to exit the alcove and are now out of imminent danger and reach of the mimic and have your comrades in between you and the creature.
Got-wolf is just chowing down on the mimic, continuing to bite at the thing. (-5)
Thorvin will now reach out over to Alton and grab his little body. "Here, this should help, lad." Cure Wounds7 (that has him at 12 hp, let me know if I am incorrect)
The mimic changes it's attention to the wolf biting it now that Alton has escaped. It lashes it's tongue-like thing at Got-wolf Attack: 6 Damage: 10 the tongue slams into the wolf's body (-9hp) and then wraps itself around the wolf. Got-wolf, you are now grappled by the mimic.
Alton with steady himself, feeling better after some divine healing from both Venovar and Thorvin. He rushes forward, both shortswords in hand, and will make both strikes against the mimic, this first one including sneak attack.
Oops I forgot the visual for the chest monster! I am sure you all know it is a Mimic.
