Ruvaar spins around at the sound of the clanking and upon spotting the goblin he raises his crossbow and lets an arrow fly, aimed directly for his small, green adversary.
The goblin takes both crossbow bolts, Ruvaar's sinks into the left arm and Chantrea's pierces the goblin's chest. The wolves had almost seemed eager to be released and had risen toward you. Now that the goblin has fallen into them they seem. . . uncertain. The closest wolf moves to sniff the goblin.
A familiar sound of rushing water can be heard up the passage. The ear of the wolf nearest the goblin turns toward the noise as he lowers his head and begins to tug at the goblin's clothing. The remaining wolves emit low pleaful growls and grunts. Daeris, Nelly and Lowblo back into the tunnel, making sure they are clear of the impending rush of water.
Hearing the sound of the water start up again Ruvaar (this time safe in the wolves' den) turns to Chantrea and says,
"This flooding appears to be a regular occurrence. We should look for a way to move deeper into the cave without following the main passage; no guarantee of safe places to take shelter from the flooding"
She looks to the back wall of the wolves' den, keeping half an eye on the furry inhabitants, while surveying the bottom of the chute that the goblin slid down.
Turning back to Ruvaar, she asks, "Can you climb?"
(OOG - Is there enough room for Chantrea to go investigate the chute without the wolves reaching her?)

Lowblo backs into the tunnel and scurries towards higher ground. When he suspects the water has past, he attempts to sneakily make his way up the main tunnel towards the bridge, crossbow at the ready.
Chantrea carefully moves around the perimeter of the den to get a better look at the opening (OOC: I'll assume you would want to if they can't reach you). She sees that there is an opening in the wall that leads to a natural chimney type of structure that leads more or less directly up for 30 feet. Ruvaar follows behind Chantrea. At they move toward the opening the wolves begin to get restless and snap at each other snarling and growling loudly. They are straining against their chains in an attempt to get to the goblin body or the humans!
Lowblo, Daeris and Nelly are safely back from the passage when the water rushes by again. Peaking out into the tunnel they see that the goblin on the bridge is gone. They move forward and see that the passage continues and curves to the east. The walls around the bridge are rough and possible to climb. You might be able to get up to the bridge but it would be difficult. The water seems to enter an opening up ahead but the passage does not continue along the route. It looks like it might veer off.
Ruvaar peers after Chantrea looking up at the chimney, trying to determine if it is climbable. He then moves over to the dead Goblin, checks it for any valuable items (and takes them if there are any), then kicks the goblin's body into the reach of the wolves. As he does so he calls over his shoulder to Chantrea,
"Aye. I can climb. Let me get a closer look at it to see if it's climbable."
He moves back to Chantrea and inspects the chimney
(OOC: let me know if I need to roll anything for any of the various actions I've taken)
Nelly squints at the bridge for a long moment, then has a flash of inspiration. She offers Lowblo a serious suggestion. "Or, I could toss ya. How about I toss ya?"
Glancing over at thin, elegant Daeris, the dwarf ponders a moment longer. Reaching a conclusion, she slaps a fist against her palm and nods with firm resolve. "An' you can stand on my shoulders, if you want to climb up with em'."
I will let people decide what they want to do after getting this info.
OOC: The bridge is about 20 feet off of the ground. The walls look slick and it would be difficult to climb (DC 15 athletics - Roll a D20 and add your athletics modifier from your character sheet if you want to try - I don't mind giving out difficulty ratings if you can see the obstacles etc) Lowblo has an athletics modifier of 0 so it would be tough. . a dex save might save on some damage in a fall.
The "chimney" from the wolf den seems like it could be climbable - it goes up for about 30 feet before there is an opening. (Roll a d20 and add athletics. . this climb requires a 10 to be successful. a roll with modifiers of 6 - 9 means no movement. . less means a fall. . a success climbs at half movement rate. . so about 4 rounds to get all the way up. Ruvaar has a +5 so this should be an fairly safe climb. . unless he rolls a 1 at some point :)
I am a bit surprised this is solely strength based. I guess it is. . and dex for a slip etc. still seems odd.
Daeris looks to Nelly, "I think. . . " She looks at lowblo. . looks up the the bridge. . gauges the height of everyone. "If someone could get up. . maybe they could lower a rope?"
Lowblo. . you could attach one to the bridge fairly securely. I am going to go with a DC 12 Dex check (you are +3) so roll a d 20+3. Normally I would do this secretly since there is a chance that you could think it is secure when it isn't. This is a rope bridge though so you will be able to see if it is secure and test it. Also since you "passive" skill is 13 (10 roll +3) we will say that you can just do it. You could also roll if you want to try for a critical . . pass or fail :)
Ruvaar. sounds good. I messed up. . it will only take 2 rounds.
I'll post results Tuesday night. I will try to keep to twice a week if I can.

OOC: What's a critical role? Another d20? Or d100?
The goblin removes his pack and kneels down, rummaging through until he finds what he was looking for.
Standing up he now has a coil of rope with a metallic hook attached to the end.
He looks around quickly to make sure the space is free around him and then looks back up again, squinting, to try and assess the distance and the amount of force he'll need to reach his target.
Letting the hook slide, he allows about a foot and a half of slack before he starts spinning it in a circle. Moving slowing at first, it gains momentum, until he gauges that it's hit the right speed and then he releases the rope, the hook sailing upwards (hopefully)...
Oh. I meant you could roll and see if you get a 1 our 20 :)
The hook sails upward and catches on the rope supporting two wooden planks that make up the base of the bridge. With a tug you are satisfied that it is secure.
Ruvaar begins making his way up the chimney. While it is sooty and smells of rot you make good progress. You are now half way up and can mute clearly see an opening.
Ruvaar spins around at the sound of the clanking and upon spotting the goblin he raises his crossbow and lets an arrow fly, aimed directly for his small, green adversary.
Attack: 13
Damage: 7
Chantrea also turns around at the sound and, seeing what the goblin intends, fires her bow at him with a yell. "No!!"
Attack: 19 Damage: 3

Ruvaar loads another crossbow bolt, unsure of what the wolves might try, but not wanting to be caught unprepared
Chantrea follows suit, loading an arrow, but waiting to see what transpires in front of her before letting it fly.

OOC: is there a place to hook a grappling hook?
After having inspected the chimney Ruvaar turns to Chantrea,
"I'm going to try to climb up this chute that the goblin came down to see what's up above."
Dusting his hands off he goes to climb the chimney: 13
