Krom nods as Vellynne Harpell provides to the group additional information "If this Codicil is guarded by Auril's followers, our best bet to find it is to continue to pursue our current path. Most, if not all, of the problems that are occurring in Icewind Dale are somehow linked to Auril, we should be able to gather more information as we proceed." The dwarf pauses a moment before adding "Standing to the information we got from the gnome in Bryn Shander, his friend at the Black Cabin was near to find a solution for this eternal winter's problem, maybe he has discovered something linked to this Codicil."
"As soon as Rhogar is ready, we should resume our march towards the Black Cabin."
To Vellynne Harpell Krom says "We will let you know if we find further information, let us know if you find something useful."
"We were headed to this Revel’s End after that were we not? We can question this Gant fellow and see what he knows. Sounds like he best lead for the area we are heading to."
Chill remarks as he looks around for Rhogar.
"Its been an hour hasn't it? He should be done soon."
"Very well, I shall contact you when I have determined the location of the city. Please keep me apprised of your search for the Codical. And since you already have Revel's End as a future destination then I will leave that to you. It is unlikely Gant would speak to me anyways knowing I am of the Arcane Brotherhood. You would have the better chance of gleaning information from him than I would." Vellynne answers.
If there are no other questions she leaves you as she turns and heads down the street and around a corner and out of sight.
"So it is Revel's End after the Black Cabin then." Kazri really says to herself. "I hope you are ready for some traveling Oli." Says Kazri patting the owlbear's head. "Speaking of that, does anyone has the Speaker's letter to this Mr. Gant?"

"I do have the Speaker's letter with me." replies Krom "The Speaker was worried about the Arcane Brotherhood sending operatives in the Ten-towns. Standing to what that wizard just told us, they may be all after those ruins ofYthryn. We may be able to gather more information from Gant, but what we have at the moment could be enough for at least reassure the Speaker. Her reward for useful information about the Brotherhood was 250 gold pieces." The dwarf pauses a moment before continuing "Reward or no, I think that she should be happy to receive such information. I will prepare an hymn of Sending tomorrow's morning."
"As for our next destination after the Black Cabin, we were heading to Caer-Konig in order to deal with the interlopers and then Caer-Dineval to find out if the Speaker is sick and possibly deal with the sinister figures skulking around the castle, but Chill may be right it will be wise to head towards Revel's End after our delivery at the Black Cabin. This Gant may have information about the Codical even if the wizard said that it was guarded by minions of the Frostmaiden."
"We have very little to go on for where these minions are. Hopefully Gant can shed light on that. I wonder if Auril has just sprinkled trouble throughout the Ten-Towns or if there is a concentrated effort going on. Since Auril is a god of any consequence she must have followers, and likely priests, in some manner of grouping. They are either secretly among the inhabitants of Ten-Towns or have a base of operations somewhere. Every god has temples and worshipers even if they are hidden and not out in the open. That is the way of gods in Faerûn." Chill muses as we wait for Rhogar to finish his magic.
Pulling out his map of Icewind Dale Chill studies it.
"So do we travel to the village Lonelywood on our way to the Black Cabin or strike straight north along the eastern side of the forest to the cabin? A straighter route may be faster but there may be trouble to fix in Lonelywood as well. I recommend heading to the village and then striking north along the river to find the cabin. This way we do not become lost or come out of the woods too far north and miss the cabin all together."
"I agree with Chill. We are here, so we might as well pay the town a visit. Should we leave town after Rhogar has finished summoning Ghorar?" Kazri replies to Chill.

"No that is ever I believe. We should still be wary of this wizard to be safe. She seems like she is agreeable but as my father told me you should always keep your eyes on an unknown wizard." Rekuberk says, speaking the advice as though he would as a sage like old man.
Krom nods at Rekuberk's comment before saying "I agree lad, she was sincere when she explained her goals in this region, but being careful will not hurt us." He then turns towards Chill and Kazri "As soon as Rhogar has completed his summoning, let's travel towards Lonelywood." The dwarf pauses for a moment as he scratches his beard "Yes, Chill, even a Goddess like the Frostmaiden has temples and followers, maybe more among frost giants or roaming goliaths than within the Ten Towns, but a God gains power not only from direct worship. With this eternal winter, I think that many inhabitants of Icewind Dale daily pray to be spared from the worse effect of it, this is also favours the Frostmaiden."
With an alliance of sort made with the mage Vellynne Harpell you discuss your plans as you finish waiting for Rhogar to complete his spell to recall Gorrah back to this plane. When he does finally emerge from the shop, you fill him in on the discussions that took place and the contact with the mage as you head north out of town.
A three-mile-long snow-covered path connects Lonelywood to Termalaine and you follow the path as it runs through the woods along the western edge of the dense forest named Lonelywood. As you follow the path you can feel the isolation of the area grow as you feel less connected to the more civilized areas of the Ten-towns to your south. it is only a couple of hours walking though and you start to see small huts and homes built along what begins to form a road of sorts.
There are no guards or walls and only an occasional person is out and about. A small halfling child can been seen ahead of you he dashes ahead and runs into a home on the north side of the road. A moment later a halfling woman steps out on to the porch and waves to you as you approach.
"Greetings strangers, I am Nimsy Huddle, the town speaker. May I invite you in out of the cold for some freshly baked, cookies?"
"Greetings Speaker. We thank you for your hospitality." Says Kazri with a slight bow.

Rhogar cannot help but smile more toothily than usual at the greeting. "Interesting! I see that the halfling famous hospitality is alive and well, even this far north!" He said, chuckling towards the end. "But where are my matters. Greetings and salutations as well, Speaker Huddle! The name is Rhogar of the Nimbatuul Clan. And if its truly not too much trouble..." He trails off there, offering the halfling woman an opportunity to reconsider.
Gorrah has less such compunctions, and would even claw her way out the Rhogar's hood just to flutter over and onto the porch, much to the Dragonborn's visible surprise. Even more surprisingly, she gets up on her hind legs and holds out her hands as if asking to be picked up. A sentiment she further reinforces by trying to send Huddle an image of being held alongside warm feelings.

"Well, aren't you just the cutest thing!" Nimsy exclaims as reaches down and picks up Gorrah and gives him a squeeze. "Let's find you some cookies shall we?"
You follow the woman into her home and are welcomed by the smell of fresh baking and the warmth of a warm fire. Her house was clearly built for humans, but most of the furniture is sized for halflings, with a few big chairs for visitors of taller stock. Four halfling children scamper from room to room and climb a ladder up to the loft, chasing one another with wooden swords, while a fire crackles in the hearth in Speaker Huddle’s cluttered kitchen.
You gather around a table taking chairs or standing as you find fit.
After handing out cookies to all who wish to have one you relish the warm soft gooiness of fresh baked cookies and for a moment you are lost in your own thoughts and memories as the harsh elements of Icewind Dale are forgotten.
"So what brings adventurers like yourselves to Lonelywood? Have you heard of our trouble and come to aid us in our time of need?" she asks as the kids drag Gorrah off to play after handing out another round of cookies.
Before entering the Speaker’s house. “Hummm... Speaker Huddle, may I bring our Owlbear into your home? His name is Oli, and I can guarantee that he is well behaved.” Kazri makes sure she has permission to bring Oli in.
