"Those stairs do not look very stable to me." says Krom checking the stairs as Rhogar walks "Due to the weight of my armour, I will be the last to go. I'll keep watch as you climb" says to the rest of the group as he looks around for possible threats murmuring an hymn of guidance. (Perception16 + Guidance1 )
Rhogar nods his thanks to Krom just prior to tying the rope about the waist(or arm, depending on others recommendation). To Chill, the dragonborn proceeded at least part way up, mulling over the suggestion, before then glancing back and saying, "Not a bad idea, Chill. By all means take the window. Though-..." He peers inside the first window, squinting for a moment, then shaking his head. "May be tricky to do so without breaking them. Which if you can't... so be it. We will have to apologize later, in the event all of this isn't... normal."Rhogar added while pressing on down the walkway to the next window section.
As for Krom's and Kazri's most recent words, though they don't fall on deaf ears, the Bronze seems to intent on trying to avoid stepping on too weakened floorboards to really respond in the moment. Gorrah, not liking the Dragonborn's odds, flew back to keep a watch on the Axe Beaks from inside the comfort of a well padded saddlebag.
Chill follows Rhogar up the rickety stairs. As they reach the first window he uses the pole of collapsing (while collapsed is 1 foot long) to remove the remainder of the glass from the broken window. He'll then climb into the first room and look around.
Unless there is something else of interest he'll gather up the sets of tools and then climb back out. He'll use the pole to do the same thing to the next window.
"I don't know about the rest of you but I'm not sure I want to stand on any part of this cabin that is over the gorge. It looks to be a long way down and the cabin is in rough shape. Climbing through this first window seems the best idea."
Chill finds nothing else of interest in the small workshop. A bookcase against the north wall has a family of harmless squirrels living in it. Apart from some scraps of paper and other detritus that the squirrels have collected, the bookshelf holds nothing else of value.
"Do you see any signs of the gnome? Or any signs of struggle? I doubt that our gnome friend left this place on purpose." says Krom to Rhogar and Chill as they explore the cabin. "As for the windows, I can fix them later if necessary, do not worry."

Rhogar leads, Chill follows with Kazri close behind. Then comes Rekuburk with Krom taking up the rear. The rickety stairs and walkway (B2) seems to hold your weight but taking the advice of Chill you don't try for the door but wait for Chill to clear the broken glass from the window and then climb into the main area of the cabin.
B4. Main Room This room contains lingering smells of burnt wood and flesh. You also catch the faint odor of wine. Snow has fallen through holes in the roof, then been pushed into corners by stiff winds blowing through broken windows. The walls and furniture are scorched black, including a table with the charred remains of a book on it.
Next to the table, on the floor amid several broken wine bottles, is a mostly incinerated skeleton and a round, frost-covered object about six inches in diameter.
Enough of the charred skeleton remains to suggest that it belongs to a male human. Kazri notices a glint of a gold object and sees what looks like a pendant on the remains of the body.
Kazri takes the pendant off the burnt body, and shows it to her companions.

As the group notices the incinerated human skeleton, Krom says "A follower of the Frostmaiden maybe? I do not see any other corpses around, so hopefully our gnome friend survived." The dwarf then chanting an hymn of Guidance examines the pendant. "Let me take a look at it." Religion or History20 plus Guidance4

"It is not what I was expecting" says Krom as he checks the amulet "This symbol is similar to the symbol of the Morninglord, but I do not recall it having hands on it. Maybe it's an older symbol." The dwarf scratches his beard as Rhogar informs the group that the amulet and the strange frost covered object both glow with magic. "I'm trying to figure out what happened here." Krom points at the burned skeleton "Since the poor fellow had a symbol of the sun on him, we can be sure that they were not a follower of the Frostmaiden and that they were probably killed by one of them. But what happened to the gnome? Did the followers of the Frostmaiden attacked the cabin hoping to find the gnome, but instead they found another person and decided to eliminate them anyway?" The dwarf shakes his head "So many questions. At our next rest I will try to identify both items, hopefully I will able to find out something about that strange object."
Rhogar listened after revealing what was possible, and nodding along at points. At the questions however, he could only towards the two magical items with brows furrowed in consternation after a time. "Next rest? Why not-..." Rhogar started to say, only to catch himself. "No.. nevermind. There are yet plenty of other rooms yet to investigate, in any event. But after which, Master Krom, it would be all the more prudent to see to those items, I feel at least, in the most expedient fashion possible -- IF we do not find the gnome's body's after checking the rest of this place. For if he lives, it could be yet that he's in extreme danger."
The bronze then turns his attention towards the other doors connecting to the main room, and try and open up to take look past the northwestern most one's door. And if nothing initially grabs his attention about the contents inside, he utters in draconic a call for Guidance from Vixix, before stepping forth for a closer investigation of the room's contents.

The amulet’s pendant and chain are made of gold, and the pendant bears the symbol of two hands cupping the sun.

On the ground another object glows faintly with magic.
The frost-covered object looks like a 6-inch-diameter gyroscope featuring two scorched rings inlaid with runes and a dense chunk of coal at its core.
