Kazri takes a step back, and lowers her sword. "Professor, can you ask this 'Veneranda' if she can tell us how to get to the upper floor? It seems that there is no stairs on this floor."

Rhogar lets out a low, almost crocodillian hiss at Professor Orb commentary to Krom. But yet again, he stopped just short of trying to snatch the thing from the dwarf's hand and chucking it out the nearest window. For now...
"Mmn. I hesitate to tell her much given the ambitious of her people in the past. But given her state and probably position in the past, I... doubt she can cause too much trouble. Or else she would've been now."He frown. "Assuming her mind hasn't been addled from living like so and for so long."Rhogar grimaced and shuddered.
"If none of you are opposed, I say feel free to inform her of a few things that has happened but keep the details a little vague on what happened to the rest of the empire at the very least. Hope once lost is hard to recover. And though it would cruel, crueler still would we be to cosign her to madness in delivering too shocking a retailing."The dragonborn went on to further affirm. "Aside from that, La-... I agree with Kazri. Ask as well about we might cross the from this tower to the other through the 'window' we saw i nthe other room."

Krom, ignoring the Professor's remark about himself, instead listens carefully to his recounting of Veneranda's story. "I agree with Rhogar, we should avoid telling her too much about what truly happened to the empire." The dwarf nods towards Kazri, then turns to the Professor. "Ask her how we can reach the other side and the upper floors."
The orb turns its attention back to Veneranda and again converses with her. The orb then summarizes.
"She says there is a bridge that reaches between the windows but could say no more. She is asking that you assist her in repairing the damage to the city by stealing Iriolarthas’s staff of power, which he keeps in his study. She proposes that you break into Iriolarthas’s study, steal his staff, and bring it to her. She can then use it on the obelisk to repair the city. It seems that is all she cares about, restoring Ythryn to its past glory. I have given a brief history of what has happened in the centuries since the city fell. She is disinterested beyond that and wants to restore the city."
Rhogar crosses his arms over his chest. "What she aims for is likely impossible even /if/ that obelisk yet serves it's original function. Regardless, given the state of the obelisk from what I believe we saw in passing, or... was it heard? I cannot recall -- but either way, if she knows how to use it, then... Mmn... Hmph. Just ask her where is this study then? 'cause its not the room she's in, I take it? Or is it, and she is merely bound in some way that makes it impossible for her to remove it?"The dragonborn asked frankly.

"It might be that she doesn't fully understand her current situation. I mean, aside her brain, she is practically a consturct. I'm no an expert in the arcane arts, but from what I have been able to understand watching Rhogar or Vellynne conjure the Weave, a certain manual dexterity seems necessary. With a metal body like that, she might not be able to cast spells, otherwise she would have freed herself long ago. I believe that, as Rhogar pointed out, that she could be bound to this specific place." Krom says, nodding towards the dragonborn. "Knowing where the archmage's study is, will help us in any case, so I think we should ask her about its location. As for the bridge that between the windows, maybe it's invisible? We could toss a few pebbles to test it, or I could try dispelling any enchantment around the window on this side."
"If there is an invisible bridge, perhaps throw some sand on top of it so that we can see it?" Kazri is not sure herself of what she is saying, but at the very least they have a location for them to go now.
(Leap of Faith anyone?)

"Hmm... I hadn't quite consider that, Master Krom. Seems something of a design flaw, but wizards of old aren't entirely known for being the most kindly to their brethren; 'specially where ambitions inevitable would get involved in matters. Typically, at least."Rhogar said with a note of exasperation behind his voice towards the end. "As for dispelling any enchantment, perhaps as a last resort. 'fore it would be rather awkward to accidentally unravel the wrong magic at work, even if they belong to a normally duplicitous school of magic. For instance, I've once heard tell of a sorcerer's whose connection to the weave grew so great, that they were conjure an illusory dragon so glorious, it's attacks yet tore the earth and rend flesh just as easily as the real thing! But, uhm... I-I digress. I know not who might be carrying about sand, but a bit of debris should be easy enough to find around here."

"She advised that the study is at the top level of the Spire. Where Iriolarthas himself is, she does not know. She does not wish to come with you to find the staff, she will stay here."
Rhogar looks flatly at the Professor, and just about cranes his head up to do the same to Veneranda before catching himself. "How... unfortunate. But at the same time, it was already doubtful that we would've been able to avoid dealing with that /one/ before the end, at least from what we've heard about him so far. And in fact, perhaps its even better that we must do so it seems to progress in our mission. Either way, since it sounds as if there's no alternative route 'up' within this part of the tower, let us make our way back to that window and try out what we discuss prior."The dragonborn all but concludes.
"If there is yet concerns about potentially plummeting to our death however, we could yet try to needle out more from the air quotes specters in the other room. But honestly, as I can easily and simply grant two of our number flight, I think it best we do not concern ourselves with that lot any more than what we have already."

"If Iriolarthas is somewhere within this tower, sooner or later we'll probably face him," Krom says as he tucks the Professor Orb back into his backpack. "But first, let's focus on reaching the other side of the tower and possibly finding a way up." The dwarf adds as the group prepares to return to the hall, "Before using any flying spells, let's toss a handful of pebbles first and see if there's an invisible bridge."
(Does anyone have pebbles handy? Or do we need to look in the area?)
Kazri checks her backpack. "Unfortunately, I do not have anything useful. Perhaps we can use any liquid that we have available if we do have any pebbles." Once they get to the window, Kazri looks down to try to guess the height they are on. "I am not fond of flying, but if we must. I would like to volunteer to be the first one Mr. Nimbatuul."

"I have ball bearings. We can throw some of them into the invisible bridge. I also have the bag of tricks. I can pull out a creature and have it walk across first to make sure the bridge is safe." Chill says.
"Hmm... While I cannot say I'm fond of the idea of risking the life of another creature -- even ones that are effectively a magical construct variety, caution demands flexibility, I suppose." Rhogar begrudgingly admitted while rubbing his chin, then snapped his fingers. "That does remind me! Instead of ball bearings, I actually do still have a pouch of pebbles on me. Hah! I almost forgot I kept these as ammunition for an old enchantment I once possessed."He added cheerily as he unlatched and shook the pouch. "But, if it turns out the bridge is truly out, and if you are yet uncomfortable with flying yourself, Kazri, I, uhm... could carry you across if that would be more.. *ahem*.. preferred."The dragonborn went on to more tentatively suggest. Regardless of the answer, if the party is able to make it to the window bridge without too much issue, Rhogar would immediately set to work scattering a few stones across where he thought the bridge to be.
(OOC: I genuinely forgot after all these years Rhogar had a pouch of pebbles for when he used to cast magic stone!)
"Carry me? Please don't be..." At first Kazri thought the idea absurd, as she turned around she realized that it never occurred to her that the group's resident magic user is almost as strong as she is. She cranes her neck, but tries to hide her surprise. She surreptitiously studies the Dragonborn's body, and comes to the conclusion that he is actually well fit. "Well.. Uhm... Sure Mr. Nimbatuul. As long as your magic is able to lift the both of us, of course. If this Iriolarthas is truly alive, it is best to fight magic with magic. Good thinking as always."
