Rekuberk me s the flames die off from the blade of his sword before he goes to gather his javelins, cleaning the blood off with snow. "That was rather unpleasant. Those damn things bite harder then you would think possible."

"Let me check those wounds lad." says Krom as the group starts to travel again. "We may need your strength again, it is better to heal them up." The dwarf, chanting an hymn of evocation (Cure wounds), places his right hand on the wounded half-orc. Moradin's fire channelled through Krom's fingertips closes some of Rekuberk's wounds.

You move away from the dead owlbears, choosing to leave the carcasses for the scavengers and other predators of the tundra. Hopefully the fresh meat will keep others from attacking you and choosing to go for the meal that has been left for them.
This seems to be the case as you are left alone for the next few hours. The dim light of the short daylight hours is coming to an end. You know you are getting close to your destination when you start to find deep tracks left by wagons that you presume lead to and from Karkolohk, making it easy to find despite the heavy snowfall. Once you are within the foothills and travel high enough to breach the clouds, the fortress becomes visible about from a mile away.
The fortress is worked into the spur of a mountain slope in a way that uses the natural environment to its advantage. Situated at the top of a hill, goblin lookouts would have an excellent view of anyone approaching.
(Is Kazri able to determine if the goblin wagon that found the dwarves’ cart has gone into the fortress?)

"Ahh... There it is, my friends. Karlolohaka, or whatever called it." Rhogar declared to the accompanying excited clicks from Gorrah. "Make sure the sign of peace is nice and visible when we're a bit closer. Even if the conditions aren't the best for arrows and EVEN if times are tough, that won't stop them from trying, I wager. Not if the whole feel threatened, or suspect we'd be easy pickings."He continued on to say. Despite the almost dire sounding warnings, the Bronze deamnor never shifts from the calm and collected.

"If my eyes do not deceive me, I see a lot of skulls on pikes in our path." says Krom, "We will see soon enough if the goblins are really looking to make a treaty with the Ten Towns." The dwarf removes some of the snow from his beard "If that it is indeed their wish, we should be careful. A bad treaty for Ten Towns may be worse than having to deal with Goblin raiders." Krom places his hand on the war hammer's handle "If their intention is not good, we will deal with them like with did with Cryovain."
"Should we just knock on their door with the banner? We should find out soon enough if their intent is true or false." Kazri hoping for the better outcome.

Rekuberk keeps his sword hidden with the Cloak of the winter clothes that he wears, his hand still within easy reach of either a javelin or his hand axes if a weapon is needed. "Should some of us hold back?'
"I wouldn't fear a fortress of goblin's. I'm fairly certain we are a match for whatever they have to throw at us." Chill says confidently. "But we are on a peace mission, so we'll try not to burn the place to the ground."
"We should go all together lad" says Krom to Rekuberk, "We are on a peace mission, but it is better to be all together, just in case things do not go as planned or the Sheriff was right." "We will see soon enough ifChief Yarb-Gnock intends to stop raiding or we will have to make him stop and collect the 300 gold for his head."
The dwarf gestures towards the fortress and says "Let's go my friends. The one of us in the front should take the blue flag."
“I will take the blue flag friends.” Kazri takes the blue ribbon and leads her companions to the fortress. She wraps the flag on the tip of her sword and carry it high so that it is clearly visible.

You make your way up the ridge, the path clearly defined by all of the wagon tracks. Kazri has no way of knowing whether the wagon they encountered near Kelvin's Cairn made any of the tracks, they are too overlapped to identify individual wagon trails.
You see that the fortress has squat watchtower structures (K1), two overlooking the eastern approach and a third perched atop the cliffs to the west. Each watchtower stands 20 feet tall and has a rickety wooden ladder leading to the top, where a thick column of smoke issues from a brazier that is kept lit at all times. You can see three or four goblins in each tower as you approach. They eye you warily but they make now move to attack and issue no commands.
As you approach the main gate, your flag of peace held high, you also see two platforms (K4) on either side of the gates (K2). These wooden platforms creak and groan underfoot. Each of them has two goblins in cold weather clothing and two wolves stationed atop it.
Standing in front of the main gate a fiery brazier casts its flickering light on the thirty-foot-high, spiked ramparts that frame the main gate. Four goblins peer down from these ramparts, two per side. The gate is twenty feet tall and fashioned out of crosshatched pieces of wood that have been lashed together. A heavy chain and padlock seals the gate from the inside.

With the flag of peace held high, Kazri yells in a nonthreatening fashion. "Greetings. We are delegates from Bryn Shander, sent by Speaker Shane. We would like to speak with Chief Yarb-Gnock regarding the treaty that he would like to negotiate with the Speaker. May we have an audience with the chief?"
Kazri looks around the goblins, and check their state of mind. (Insight: 7)

Rhogar is content to let Kazri and the others do the talking, as studying what can be of the structure took priority. "Perhaps not as easy as Cryovein."He muttered at one point, though chuckled softly to himself after. Wary, Gorrah dug herself deeper into the shadows of his hood now that the goblin's grew closer in sight, eliciting a snort of the bronze, but no comment. If anything is to take his attention moreso than the curiosity and the atmosphere, its any nervous shifting from the Duchest betwixt his thighs. For her, a few of what he hoped were calming brushing along her neck are given to ease some tension.
