"Science is organized knowledge. Wisdom is organized life."
Kazri, the banner held high, tries to gauge the mood of the goblins who have obviously seen them She can't really determine anything as all of the visible ones are garbed in cold weather gear and their faces are covered. She can tell that they don't seem overtly aggressive at this time as none are pointing weapons at the party. The watchtowers (K1) were 20 feet high and the other platforms and ramparts over the gates are 30 feet high. ((Squares are 10x10 to gauge distance to each platform))
Krom doesn't see any stone work. The wood walls are built into the natural rock formations. As far as he can tell it looks well built though he sees signs of ongoing construction and repairs.
Eventually one goblin calls down to you in common "Welcome in the name of Chief Yarb-Gnock! Promise to do no harm as diplomats seeking peace and we'll escort you to see the chief! What say you?"
"That is why we are here. We came across some of your people only days ago." Rekuberk says as he makes sure to keep his hands away from his weapons. It would not do if something was accidentally seen as aggressive.
Kazri will remove the flag from her sword, and sheath it. So to demonstrate that they do come in peace.

"So long as no harm is done to us, or our mounts, these terms are acceptable." Rhogar called out as well, dismissing whatever half-formed spell had lingered there since Kazri's greeting. Despite such assurances the Bronze Dragonborn would continue to have a somewhat wary look about hitm. Gorrah too, though it would be harder to see with her so curled up in shadows.

Krom, seeing that the rest of the Fellowship already replied to the goblins, he stays silent. He moves his hand away from the warhammer's handle. As Rhogar finishes to speak, the dwarf nods in agreement.
"Into the dragon's maw it seems then?" Chill remarks as he moves with the others. His crossbow is on his back and he unconsciously removes the luck stone from a pouch and starts to play with it nonchalantly.
"Open the gate!" the goblin yells down behind him and a few moments later you hear the lock being fumbled with and the gates then begin to open.
You move through the gate and step into a courtyard area (K3)
Two rickety wooden bridges loom over this area at heights of thirty feet and fifty feet, respectively. The higher bridge is missing a large section of its middle, and what remains of that structure doesn’t look safe.
Two iron cages hang from beams that extend southeast off the lower bridge. One of the cages twirls on its heavy iron chain as a flurry of black-feathered ravens tear into the flesh of the desolate creature caged within. Underneath the bridge is a worg with a rider on its back. The rider, swathed in cold weather clothing, appears to be a rather fat goblin. North and west of the higher bridge, resting in the snow, are three large, wooden cages, currently empty.
Ahead of you is seen a thirty-foot-tall wooden watchtower (K5) is connected to the snowy ridges on either side of it by wooden bridges. Hanging off it are a pair of empty iron cages, and dangling underneath the tower’s raised platform is a nine-foot-tall, golem-like construct with a helm-shaped head. This humanoid contraption is attached to an arrangement of ropes and pulleys that make it look like a giant marionette.
You are escorted to a building and brought to a dining room (K11). A low banquet table dominates this room, and there are no chairs as goblins are expected to sit on the floor. The table and floor are strewn with fish bones, bits of rotting meat, and other refuse left over from previous meals. It appears no one ever cleans this place.
You are left alone for only a moment when another goblin steps out of a room and joins you.
"I am Chief Yarb-Gnock. I am pleased that the Ten-Towns wishes to seek peace with us. Please dine with me and we can discuss the treaty."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Krom follows the goblins as they lead the group inside their fortress. The dwarf's eyes dart around looking for weak points, escape routes and choke points to be used in an eventual battle with the goblins. As the Fellowship enters the dining room, Krom shakes his head in disapproval at the chaos that he sees in the room. He starts to say something, but he is interrupted by the arrival of the gobling Chieftain. "Krom Firebeard" says Krom in response to Yarb-Gnock. The dwarf tries to read the goblin's behaviour in order to determine his true intentions (Insight7 ). As he waits for the other members of the Fellowship to say something, Krom's gaze moves around the room looking for hidden goblins or possible hiding places (Perception13 )
Rhogar follows at the back of the group inside the fortress. Having done all the looking around he needed from the outside, Gorrah, however, proceeds to follow the dwarf's example from the shadow of her hood. Her goal only slightly diverged, as she narrowed her focus along the way on finding the best hiding spots. This being as much for her own sake, as it was for spying any craftier goblins in the future.
When it finally came time to enter a building, unless allowed to bring in mounts, Rhogar leaves Gorrah outside to guard the duchess and the other mounts. Which she would do so, if albeit from the comfort of one of the saddle packs and an extra thick blanket just for her.
"We are honored to be here, Chief Yarb-Gnok. This one is Rhogar of the Nimbatuul Clan." He crosses a hand over his chest and gives a polite half-bow. As he came out of it, and looked to the "goblin", the Bronze freezes for a moment, then cocks his head to the side. He then looks to the others wondering if they too saw what he did in the goblin. However, wsely choosing not to press things just yet himself, he took a sit as bade, but would keep an openly skeptical look on the chief.

Chill stood near the back of the group allowing the others to take the lead. He wasn't a big fan of goblins as a whole and felt uneasy within their fortress. He had faith in the skill and power of their fellowship though and knew there was probably little that would put up much of a fight against them if things went sour. But he hoped such would not pass. He looked around for trouble and what he could learn from the goblin chief as he surmised the others did as well.
Those who take the time to pay attention to the chief notice that things are a bit...off. Krom especially notices as he has dealt with many goblins over the years. The chief wears some sort of mask, maybe that's just what the chief here does. Looking around you surmise that the door to the east leads to one of the platforms and presumably there are goblin warriors on the other side of the door ready to help the chief if there is a problem. But there do not appear to be any hidey holes or hidden areas from what you can see. What lies behind the other doors you do not know.
Soon a goblin comes in with what passes for a meal in the goblin fortress. Some sort of meat, and fish but little else. The goblins here are obviously not fairing well and the meal is meager. You do your best to choke it down if choose to eat, the chief does not seem offended if you do not.
At the end of the meal he gives you a rolled-up strip of rabbit hide. On this strip of hide he has written a brief, formal notice in Common addressed to the Council of Speakers of Ten-Towns. It asserts that the goblins of Karkolohk will refrain from attacking travelers and caravans heading to and from Ten-Towns for as long as the peace treaty between Ten-Towns and Karkolohk lasts, and it bears Yarb-Gnock’s signature at the bottom. "I urge you to leave at once and deliver it to the Council Hall in Bryn Shander. We only seek peace in these hard times."
As best as any of you can tell the chief seems to genuinely seek peace and there does not appear to be any subterfuge.
"Name is Kazri. Well met, and I would like to thank you for your hospitality. It will be noted to the folks of Bryn Shander, and Ten-Towns in general, that we were well treated." Kazri reads the rabbit hide. "What are your terms? Do you just desire peace with Bryn Shander?" Kazri tries to study the goblin chief through his mask. (Insight: 20) "If I may, what is your current relationship with Bryn Shander? We are here to help the region, and if you find it acceptable, that would include your people as well. Is there anything that you need help with?"

Krom, not being sure of what kind of meat the goblins are serving, eats some fish. As he eats, from time to time, his gaze stops on the Goblin's mask and gloves. "Something is off". Is this a real goblin? Or a gnome wearing a goblin mask?" thinks Krom. "Chief Yarb-Gnock, as a craftsman, I am very interested in your mask. What kind of materials were used for it?" Krom studies the goblin's reaction (Insight15). "Your people seems to be craftsman too judging by the construct that we saw outside. May I ask what is its purpose?"
"We have no relationship with Bryn Shander. We scour the wastelands and tundra for what we can find but then the ten-towners attack us. We only seek peace and will refrain from attacking caravans and such if they refrain from attacking us. As for help, nothing more than to be left alone and to seek our own way."
"Eh the mask? Metal, a symbol of my power and authority here, nothing more." he replies but you get the feeling he doesn't wish to discuss it further. He quickly moves to other subjects and urges you on your way "Please return to Ten-Towns as soon as possible. We seek peace and the attacks must stop."
At the mention of the construct "It is something that was found long ago out in the tundra and brought here. Recently I had it strung up where it is. Do you like it? It does nothing but we think it looks very good where it is."
Rekuberk seems to have no interest in the food but keeps an eye on the goblin leader, not quite sure what to make of what is going in the goblin fortress. "We shall be sure to do that. Hopefully we can come back with word from the Towns.
Rhogar eats, if not out to avoid seeming rude, then at least because of being a mite famished and not really minding the strange meats. So long as it didn't taste or smell like dragonborn of all things, there were few things he couldn't or would be opposed to scarfing down thanks to draconic constitution. He trailed off there, giving the supposed "goblin" a meaningful look.
