“I pledge my life for this little one, I shall be responsible for it. Once it grows older, I promise that it will not enter the city. I swear this by Helm.” Says Kazri solemnly.

Chill watches the guards. 

"I doubt she'll want to sell it friend,  but you can be assured we will keep the town safe."

Rhogar is quiet for the time being, but would at least step forward in solidarity with Kazri, flanking Oli the Owlbear if someone else hadn't done so. Much as he may have wished to throw in his 2 cents, the Bronze was more than self-aware his word would be no better than Chill's and Rekuberk's in the situation...

"Fair enough then.  I hope for your sake you are true to your word.  Anyways, the sheriff had us watch out for you.  He wants to see you as soon as possible after you return to town."

He then lets you pass through the gates.

"Much appreciated" replies Krom to the guards "Do not worry the White Cloaks are always true to their words."
As the group pass through the gates, Krom walks next to Kazri and Oli "Now that this matter is settled, we should immediately go to see the Sheriff." says the dwarf to the rest of the group. "Keep on eye on the cub lass, just in case." he adds for Kazri "By the way, if the cub is going to stay with us, you should find a good name for it."

“A name for the creature...” Kazri thinks for a moment. “Perhaps we could call this little one Oli.” Kazri looks at the cub, and gently pets it’s head. “I made the promise not only to the townsfolks, but for our safety as well. My eyes shall never stray from it, and I shall care for it for as long as I am able.” When the group goes to speak with the sherif, Kazri will stay outside with Oli.

"Oli, I like the sound of it." replies Krom. "If you take care of the cub, everything will go well, do not worry."

As the group goes to speak with the Sheriff, Krom will say to Kazri "You should also be present when we speak with the Sheriff. I am sure that Oli will behave." 

With Master Krom's encouragement. "Very well." Says Kazri slightly hesitating. She casts Speak with Animals. "Come Oli. We will go into this building. Do no fear, I will protect you. Please stay close to me at all time." Kazri gives the cub another piece of dried meat. "I will try to get you better food soon."

"I should have summoned my Gryphon and road into town on its back. I think the look on the guards face would have well been worth any trouble it could have led to." Rekuberk says as they get further into the town.

"That would have been an interesting thing to see." says Krom as Rekuberk finishes to speak.

"That it would be. There is always next time. I should be careful not to fly though as I would rather not get shot out of the sky...." Rekuberk adds with a nervous chuckle at the end, slapping the dwarf on the shoulder.

"Next time then lad." says a smiling Krom.

"You may wish to invest in some type of marker for this... Oli, as well." Rhogar chimes in eventually as the group made for the Sheriff. "While her... him?" He shook his head. "While /they're/ are already a unique presence in both this town and likely the rest we are to visit. On the very off chance one does manage to abscond with her, than perhaps a good Samaritan might take quicker note and inform us of where they last saw her." 

"Not that I wasn't joking by much regarding the whole cloak thing, mind you. But it would take us some time to find another dragon, after all."

You pass through the gates and as you make your way up the main road you are met by Sheriff Markham Southwell.

"I had heard you were approaching the village.  Glad to see you back.  Follow me, we can discuss your news with Speaker Duvessa Shane.  She also wishes to speak with you."

As you turn down one of the streets the sheriff leads you to the Council Hall.  As you enter the sheriff stops Kazri.  "I'm not sure that creature needs to be inside.  You're not the first to try and keep one of those as a pet.  You do realize they grow into quite the large monster right?  Best to kill it now, or let it go free in the wild."

"I understand sheriff Southwell. I do plan to release it to the wild once he is a little older, able to take care of himself." She pets Oli's heard to make sure he is fine. "We unwittingly killed his parents, so now I feel responsible for his current situation. I do realize that I am putting everyone, including myself in danger, but I hope that it will never come to that. As I promised at the gate. I shall give my life, if necessary, if the little one is a threat to the town."

"I can wait outside with Oli if you wish Kazri.  I'll keep a good eye on him."  Chill says.

"Greetings Sheriff" says Krom saluting the Sheriff "Lead the way please." The dwarf follows the Sheriff.

"Oli here, for now is pretty harmless, but we understand that it may be an issue if we bring the cub near the Speaker." replies Krom 

Rhogar nodded alongside Krom in greeting the Sheriff, and had been content to follow along without a word. But at Chill's suggestion, he promptly shook his head. "Unnecessary, Mr. Chill. Allow me to remain behind. Because of my bond with Gorrah, she allow to me listen, and even participate as necessary, in a fashion. So please." He makes a sweeping hand gesture forward, then looks to Kazri. "Though you have made your promise, I offer the same while it is under my temporary watch. And have no fear. I have my own way with peculiar beasts."

As the last part gets said, a nodding Gorrah stops and looks at Rhogar indignantly, before then huffing and fluttering over to rest on Kazri's shoulder.

Krom nods to Rhogar as he offers to stay with the cub. "Oli will surely behave with you Rhogar."
The dwarf then says to Kazri "Let's go lass, we have to inform the Speaker about our mission. We should not to keep her waiting."

“Very well.” Kazri responds to Master Krom. She goes down to one knee in front of Oli. (Hopefully Speak with Animal still up.) “I will be gone shortly. Stay with Uncle Rhogar. I will be back.” She pats the cub’s head, then gets up to follow the party.
