Kazri is trying to study the beast, then it dawns on her that perhaps she can communicate with it. She casts Speak with Animals, and she says to the beast. “We mean you no harm. State your business... I mean, what do you wish from us, humans.”

As a Dragonborn with a telepathic tiny dragon side-kick, a patron who looked to be some mix of dragon and horse, and a sorcerer to boot... Rhogar is shocked for maybe a moment, before the scholar in him has the scaled one leaning forward with rapt attention. "Marvelous. I had been aware of some leviathans having the ability to commune or even speak -- at least if the stories are to be trusted, but.... huh.... most interesting."He said while the mind whirred again back to the stories and lessons of his youth.
"Please, do not be alarmed. We are here to find out what you are doing in this lake." Kazri can't believe that she is speaking with a lake monster, but she tries her best to stay calm.

"I used to just swim around the lake and eat fish but human gave me this gift. The human's name is Ravisin and claimed to serve the Frostmaiden. Ravisin said I must do my part to help the Frostmaiden, who wants the people of Bremen to suffer. I don’t want to be a stupid beast again. Please don't change me back."
Having not idea of what kind of creature the group is currently facing does not sit well with Krom. Shaking his head to clear his thoughts, the dwarf addresses the talking creature "The people of Bremen and the other people in the Dale are already suffering enough from this endless winter. You should not harass the poor fishermen that try to make a living in those harsh conditions, they just want to live their lives peacefully. Why do you have to help the Frostmaiden making their lives even more terrible? You were granted intelligence by some magical means, I am sure that if you look deep inside yourself you can see that killing and harassing the people of Bremen is wrong." Krom pauses a moment to let his words sink into the creature's head before continuing "That Ravisin, is using you for his evil purposes. I wonder what he has against the people of Bremen. This lake is a very big lake, there are other cities on its shores, why has he asked you to harass only the people of Bremen?"
"We will not change you back, but can you tell us what does this Ravisin wants you to do?" Asks Kazri trying to understand better the situation. "And yes, I agree with my companion. Why specifically Bremen?"

"I do not even think we could change you.... But if you do not stop attacking the people they will eventually take action against you." Rekuberk said, looking to the others as he reluctantly lowered his sword.
"I think she means... he means...?" Rhogar looks to the beast for confirmation on either. But regardless of the answer, the Bronze continues, "That this Ravisin might strip them of the "gift" if they find out that they are not doing as they... requested."Gorrah scowls and makes the motion spitting off the opposite side of the boat to the beast. "So, tracking them down would be important, for everyone's sake. Our new friend here included."

Rhogar crossed his arms, lowered his gaze, and began emitting a guttural rumbling sound in consternation. Such musing soon comes to an end however, as a memory leaves the Bronze chuckling to himself. "A druid. Hah! I should've known! It's been many, many years since a cousin of mine -- one who chose to walk that same path been home. But, from what I recall of their guidance, it seems you have been bestowed the blessings of Awakening. A costly spell, but one so potent that noone could remove it, even if they wished. Certainly not this Ravisin." He said, before raising a finger.
"Though for them to have access to such a magic, I would still suggest avoiding them in the future. But, your mind and will is your own." He smiled toothily, knowing that unlike most other folk, the beast wouldn't nearly be as unnerved by rows of sharp teeth. "Good news, yes? Though, if you could describ Ravisin and the circumstances of your meeting, it would be most appreciated."

You safely conclude that the beast is the beneficiary of a druid’s awaken spell, and that the effect is permanent.
