Name: Hush Underbough
Race: Ghostwise Halfling
Class: Monk (Way of the Long Death)
Backstory: Hush grew up amongst the Ochori. While just a boy, one of the elders noticed his affinity to stealth and agility. He was trained as an assassin, though he always preferred to hit things with his hands than use steel to delve into another's body in order to extract the blood price of a contract. His ability to hide and gather information meant he grew to be an excellent spy and assassin, though he often loved to live a life on the edge. On the odd occasion, he enjoyed playing both sides of the coin, holding no allegiance to one group or the other after the death of his parents, and so would garner payments from anyone he could. When the Imperials started making their presence known, Hush knew this was the chance he had been waiting for. For adventure. For coin. For freedom.
Damiv was a sick child, and always had to stay indoors in the protection of an orphanage. One day, he had a dream. He dreamt he was in the halls of a large temple and a group of cloaked figures told him he was chosen to be one of their numbers. I was trained every night for 18 years in secret until I managed to use my magic to push my health up, allowing me to venture into the world. Occasionally visiting the halls in my dreams. But soon enough, I start to wonder if the mysterious figures in the hallowed halls are using me for a purpose of their own...
For the world, I work for hire, and have worked many times for the Imperials before. I also came from their lands. (Is magic considered weird in the imperials?)

Rhozire Norixius - Fighter - Dragonborn - Soldier
Rhozire Norixius has been a soldier in the Imperium for a few years now, enough to get his feet wet as a grunt. The latest Wildling Raid on an escort mission left him separated from his unit though. He wasn’t worried at first, after all he still had his pack, his equipment, and he’s always been one of the biggest in his unit. Dragonborn often are. And he was above average in his unit for tracking. So when he woke up someplace else entirely, he began to understand that the magic of this place is truly something Wild.
Recruiting is now closed; I have messaged the applicants which have been accepted. There were many amazing applications, and I could only choose a few, so if you didn't get in, I hope you get into one soon!
Hello, hello! Due to having some players drop out, I am looking for another player or two to round out the party for future encounters. Please refer to the first post in this thread for creating characters; a summary is in a spoiler below for convenience.
Flexible Ability Score Increases from Tasha's will be permitted.
Any official Class is allowed (no Blood Hunters). While Humans make up the core variety of the world, other races are plentiful - and will be looked for in this application process. Race banlist: Yuan-Ti - Mountain Dwarf - Satyr. You better have a good backstory to justify playing Variant Humans or Warforged.
The party is currently level 2.
Name: Race: Class: Backstory: Ability Scores: Generic roll 4d6, Always dropping ones. If you do not like your ability scores, feel free to use Point-Buy or Standard Array. I will not ask you to provide character sheets until you have been accepted into the campaign, but feel free to add them.
I only expect one post every 1-2 days. I will make a selection three days from this post!
The party is currently composed of a Half-Orc Barbarian, a Halfling Monk, a Human Wizard, and a High Elf Warlock.
Leshanna is a bounty hunter in the Fey Wilds. She was sent out to track down criminals in the wild lands and to return them to justice. The justice part of it she could take or leave, but the hunt was a different matter. She enjoyed testing her skills against those she sought, and liked to go for more difficult targets due to this.
She is in the area seeking a criminal, but is also open for taking on other work. She knows this criminal has resources and contacts, so would be seeking those she could work with, and aid on their own mission, while seeking the one she is tracking.
If I were to still be interested should I keep the stats I rolled previously or roll new ones? Also will likely change character idea given current party line up.
If I were to still be interested should I keep the stats I rolled previously or roll new ones? Also will likely change character idea given current party line up.
If you would like to apply with a new character, feel free to roll a new set of stats if you choose to do so. Only one character will be considered, however.
Alston’s family line came to the Frako tribe a long time ago, and loved the ways of the welcoming people so much they integrated themselves into the community and have been a part of it ever since. Alston grew up surrounded by artists and crafters but felt a natural affinity towards the beauty and joy of nature. Through the tribal elders he connected to the Wilderness deities and became a priest of the land, sharing the word of the natural world through the art of philosophy of his people.
Name: Crazzas Race: Goblin Class: Ranger (Aiming to go Monster Hunter at level 3) Backstory: Given their propensity for allying and/being bullied into working with orcs, ogres, hobgoblins, and evil masterminds of all races a Goblin's life expectancy was rather short. Crazzas' great great grandfather, Gligoob, was one Goblin who realized this poor logic and self destructive lifestyle and sought to change it to some degree. With a natural talent for natural magic Gligoob made contact with a circle of Druids and brokered safe haven for himself and a small group of Goblins who wanted their own lives. Though it took time for the nearby towns to accept their presence, with the Druids vouching for them these creatures had started a new destiny for themselves.
Four generations (or about 50 years since with added safety meant more freedom to have children) later, Crazzas was born…. And once he reached adulthood was mildly disgusted with how sedentary his family had become. With a desire for coin, glory, and to just get away from the (what he saw as) Podunk bullshit his family lived in.
Life slapped a hard lesson into Crazzas early in his career. What had started as a simple child running off where they shouldn't have been, turned into Crazzas losing an ear, his face being very nearly clawed off, and being stiffed on the payment because the kid hurt his head on the way out. While before that the Goblin had for lived the thrill of stabbing a dangerous monster and watching life leave it…. He learned how to enjoy a similar sensation through a crossbow bolt quickly. A series of mostly successful jobs kept coin in his pocket and food on his plate. New jobs were always welcome, the thrill of the hunt and the kill ever driving him forward.

Would be happy to work this into your world lore, possibly within the Frako as their tendency towards experimentation may lead to them letting in a group of Goblins on the word of a druid? Would be happy to tweak or discuss any part of it ^_^. Apparently moving the scores to the bottom caused it to reroll them >.> I am fairly sure the original was 12, 12, 12, 13, 14, 15 though I could just take point buy since the thing changed it.

Looking at the art for the game, it feels stylistically in-line with a homebrew race I have been playtesting. The full write-up is here, but as a summery, they're a small, inquisitive, somewhat cute spider-people with a connection to fate (assume the setting-specific info in the description is replaced with yours).
Name: Torodo of The Torkin Race: Araushaunee Class: Barbarian Backstory: Torodo always wanted to fit in, but being a gnome spider meant he was destined to standout. Early in life he responded to this by honing his physical abilities, seeking to make himself the ideal of his culture. To endear himself to his people further, he learned not only to be strong, but to be entertaining, and became something of a showboat and a performer. Excelling in both cases, he might have began to coast though life, but in adolescence, as many do, he started to question his culture. Studying religion and myth, he noted that every pantheon of warrior gods had a trickster, and ruminated upon why. Eventually he came to the conclusion that cultures who focused on strength and bravery sometimes neglected cunning, learning and intelligence. Realizing that no society survives well if these things are forgotten, he surmises that every pantheon has a trickster because every warrior people need someone to smack them upsides the head and remind them of the need for brains. To this end, at this point in his life he seeks to take on the trickster's mantle, which as he sees it he is not knowledgeable enough to do. Travel will be necessary.
I would love to join, this sounds like a lot of fun!
Going to roll for stats first and go from there, I'd like to play a druid and really support the party:

--- Full Character Below
Name: Marene Spiderbloom Race: Human Class: Druid Backstory: Originally a child of the Morka Tribe, she always preferred studying nature and the creatures that live in the wilds around them instead of more abstract magics of the arcane and divinations.
When the Imperials first came to The Wilderness she avoided battle as much as possible, preferring to do what she could to help the wild animals that were often caught in the middle of such warfare. Soon after she chose to leave the lands of her Tribe to travel across The Wilderness on her own. In part it was to learn more about nature and the animals which she loved so much, but also because she no longer felt quite at home within her own tribe.
Initially she set out to find The Outcasts, if for no other reason then her curiosity wondered if they would be a better fit for her. However it seems fate might have different ideas. Ability Scores: 16 18 11 10 14 10
Originally from the Fraka tribe, Caerfan settled in Zafas territory when he met his wife while travelling with a performing troupe. He still travels to perform, though now he's mostly stuck behind Imperial lines. He avoids getting involved in the political and military turmoil; his job is to provide relief from the stress of the times. Nevertheless, each time he returns home to his family, he discreetly reports what he has seen to the nearby Morka.
To be honest, this is my first time ever even applying for a PbP, so sorry if things aren't right! I'm just gonna roll for scores first then add to the post.
Ability Scores: 171316131115
Name: Tuuli Ausrussa Race: Wood Elf Class: Ranger (working towards Beast Master with new Primal Companion)
Backstory: Tuuli was once a member of the enigmatic Morka tribe, but has effectively gone into self-exile. Unlike the seers and sorcerers of her tribe, Tuuli was not particularly intelligent, but she was insightful and observant. She also felt the movement of the winds around her far better than others, and eventually... the winds spoke to her. The winds of nature whispered to her of growing resentment between the Imperium and the Tribes, of potential allies on both sides of the conflict (the very idea of which the Morka would adamantly oppose), and of a strange cave deep in the woods to the east. There, destiny awaited. A grand journey lied ahead of her, and Tuuli did what she had always done - she followed where the winds would take her.
Valakas is a member of the Zavas tribe, and has always been of a live-and-let-live mindset when it came to the Imperium and the Wildlings. While most of his time is spent learning and practicing the teachings of (who would they worship?), his beliefs have occasionally landed him in hot water. Mostly with the young woman he’d hoped to marry. She found the Zavas tribe’s acceptance of the imperium to be a crime against all Wildlings, and had pushed Valakas to join another tribe, one more aggressive with the imperium. He couldn’t bring himself to do so, and she left.
Now Valakas has regrets, but mostly he simply tries to avoid thinking about her. He has thrown himself into his works of worship.
