Sandu peeked out from behind his cover. The initial chaos of the impromptu battlefield was dying down. There were less bats at least. That was good. Valerie was still down on the ground. That was bad. But Dormack was yelling some religious mumbo jumbo and a stream of healing magic, Sandu knew enough of it to recognise the rudiments, flowed into her person. That was good. Meanwhile, Ismark was struggling with a sickly looking, bite happy man. That was bad.
The whole thing was too confusing for Sandu. He just was not used to this kind of situation but he had to make a snap decision. His first instinct was to strike at the man attacking Ismark but he could not get a clean shot, and Sandu did not trust his newfound magic enough to not hit the others that crowded around the man.
That left the bats. Sandu rose up from behind his cover and lined up his hand with the swarm of bats. 'Come get some, you flying vermin!' Sandu yelled. He was not sure if the bats would respond to his taunts but if it meant they would leave Valerie alone, it was worth a shot.'Pleacã!' A by now familiar purple glow raced towards the heart of the swarm.
Sandu waved his staff above his head to draw the bats' attention though his gaze was fixed on his downed companion. 'Miss Valerie, if you truly are a paladin, then GET UP AND FIGHT!'
Eldritch Blast aimed at the bats: Bless 1 + Attack: 11 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll. EDIT: nice
The purple beam shoots towards the remaining bats cutting a swathe in the swarm. Once more the pungent smell of burnt flesh fills the air as close to half the bats drop to the ground dead. The devastation wrought is awe-inspiring.
Valerie - You are just starting to come back to consciousness. You find yourself lying on the ground, bat carcasses, wings and blood cover the cobblestones around you. To your left you see Ireena and Ismark struggling to hold on to the rotting looking figure, to your right is what remains of the bat swarms. You feel great pain as you stir, the result of multiple small bites covering the exposed parts of your body. It is your turn.
Valerie coughs a few time as she starts gaining her conscious back. She quietly mutters to herself. "Can't believe I was knocked unconscious by some bats."
She pulls herself up from the ground using her sword as a support. Then she puts her hand on the wounds and mutters some prayers. Her hand begins to glow with faint blue light. Her wound suddenly disappear. After feeling better from the injury, she raises her weapon and be ready for whatever come next.
As Valerie feels the revitalising effects of her 'Lay on Hands' she notices out of the corner of her eye Ismark struggling to maintain control over the fiendish 'man'. The creature attempts to bite down on Ismark's shoulder before moving his claw-like hands up to rake at Ismark's face.
Bite: Attack: 10 Damage: 5
Claw #1: Attack: 21 Damage: 3
Claw #2: Attack: 14 Damage: 2
Ismark lets out a howl of pain as the figure scratches at his face drawing blood, he takes 3 slashing damage.
Clutching his face, Ismark releases his grasp on the figure. "You'll PAY for that, FIEND!" He yells as he draws his Longsword and clasps it in both hands. He slashes out twice.
Attack: 18 Damage: 8
Attack: 11 Damage: 7
Limbs?: 16, 7
A cold, calm rage comes over Ismark as he effortlessly swings his sword down on the figure. The first slash takes off it's right arm which thuds to the ground. Not finished his second slash comes sweeping round and slices through the figure's right leg. The figure topples to the ground.
Bizarrely, whereas any 'ordinary' man would cry out in pain, the figure makes no sound as it continues to claw it's way towards Ireena.
Alder - Ismark seems to clearly be winning his fight with the... creature. Valerie seems to be holding firm against what remains of the bats. The battle seems to be drawing to an end point... Isn't it? It is your turn.
The recent fighting is fresh in your mind you are caught up in the moment. As you survey the battleground in front of you an intense sense of unease washes over you - are there more enemies? They could come from anywhere? Is there a reprieve?
Though the recent fighting and outstanding threats play on your mind you are aware of movement to either side of the street. You survey the battleground in front of you, though you cannot see any additional threats you can hear movement. It is subtle, but you are sure you hear a tap-taping along the cobble stones - it almost sounds like someone tapping their fingers on a table - it comes in short sharp bursts.
A flash of movement comes from a house in front to your left. You have seen numerous people standing at windows watching the procession until this point and are about to make nothing of it. That is until you hear what you believe to be a moan emanate from the house and... was that a stifled scream?
With great force Alder brings his axe down on the crawling man's head splitting it in two causing blood and bone to splatter across the street. The scene is truly gruesome and the stench awful.
Dormark - You have just witnessed Alder cleave the rotting man's skull in two. Only the swarm of bats seemingly remain and they appear to be significantly reduced in number. Could the combat be drawing to a close? It is your turn. ((Also feel free to make a Perception check))

Domarks mace swings down with a mighty crunch killing a number of the remaining bats; the swarm appears to be less than a quarter of it's initial size.

Attack: 23 Damage: 7
The remaining bats barely register against Valerie's armour - their little mouths desperately trying and failing to penetrate the Chain Mail.
