Gellendri turns to Malxes and says, “I would like to go with you, not because I don’t trust a new teammate, but simply because, well, I don’t really know where to go. I would also like to sight see.” She pulls 5 gold coins out and places it in the bag.
Talon reaches over and drops some gold from his clawed hand. He says, "If you find the supplies, I can go find a place to stay tonight. I'll meet you on the steps of this building in two hours." With that, he stands and leaves with two others.
Grung dude (forgot your name), it's just a short walk to make it to the sparkling expanse of the ocean. Gentle waves lap against the golden sands. Large waves break against a reef almost half a mile out from the coast. Several large rocks litter the beach. In the distance, you can see several small fishing boat bobbing gently on the swells. Fishermen casts lines out to try their luck in new waters. Several varieties of seabirds squad at each other and dive into the water to come up with colorful fish in their beaks. You hop in the water, and you finally breath clearly for the first time since you got here. The water stings a little at first when your amphibious skin comes in contact with it, but it fades as your body quickly adapts. Beneath the waves, small, vibrant fish dart through the waters. Small plants wave in the clear waters. When you decide you have had enough, you doing back out. While in humid regions like this, you don't have to worry about suffocation.
Guy who wanted to hunt (I'm terrible at remembering names of you haven't noticed), you see out to capture some food. Leaving the settlement behind you and travel through some patches of forest cleared for farming. You can see several people in one of the fields trying to herd strange creatures of which you have never seen. The brown and shaggy creatures resemble horses, but are smaller and more compact. The female have pink udders dangling from their bellies. They make a low moo sound. Back on Ionra, you heard takes of creatures on Khaliad called cows. They use these cows for meat and draining a white liquid from them to drink. There was nothing in Ionra like that.
Passing the fields, you make your way into the jungle. The lush plants in the jungle are awe-inspiring. Massive trees dominate the landscape. Vines dangle from their boughs in addition to flowers and mosses of all kinds. The soft forest floor is moist and springy. A very faint mist fills the air in addition to squawks from birds and the continuous drown of insects. Not to long after entering, you come across a large bird drinking from a stream. It is nearly 3 feet tall. It is coated in red feathers with an occasional splash of green thrown in. You manage to ambush and kill while it is distracted. Lugging it back, the hefty bird weighs nearly 30 pounds.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Fenron looked at the list and rubbed his chin. "Can we afford all this? How much should all this cost?" He asked. He didnt have much experience in terms of commerce. He was used to spending time out in the wilderness. Most of the gear he needed was either given to him or he had to procure it on his own, either from the enemy or the environment around him. "I have about half of the rope, a torch, a waterskin, and a ration." He said. He dropped ten gold into the bag, just to be sure they'd have enough. Then he left to go explore the town, perhaps to map out what was in town, or at least to see what services were available.
OOC: The entire list is 25 g and change, but many of the items you would get during character creation by choosing adventurer's pack or whatever your choice was. Fairly certain that everybody already has food for a ten-day..
((I assume everyone has 10 days rations and water skins unless they speak up.))
Malxes heads for the ship to look for gear. That’s 25 days rations, 5 tents, and a book, ink, quill. Unless folks speak up. And so far I’m only snagging gear for 3, unless the other two throw in their coin. So 15 rations and 3 tents. 13g5s. A book is 25 gold, ink is 10 gold, and a pen is 2 c. I don’t even know for big deterrent.
Not sure how we can afford all that unless someone started with a book
((Fenron is just gonna walk around town to see what it has to offer and possibly stop at the smith for more arrows. He'll definitely pop in the magic shop if there is one. ))
Malxes and Gellendri make their way into market the market just outside. A wide street is lined with vendors and their stalls. Many of them try to haggle with those who pass. In addition, many of the buildings on this street appear to be shops. Getting a few suspicious looks, Malxes manages to buy everything on the list for a total of 10 gold when you show them your contract. You think that the vendors might have tried to cheat you out of your money if Gellendri wasn't backing you up.
After purchasing what you needed, Talon finds you two and says, "I asked around and people said that The Frontier is the best inn. I went inside and asked for prices for all of us, and it would cost a total of 20 good with the discount. I can pay it all this time around."
Fenron, after asking for directions, you find s the blacksmith in town. Near the edge of the settlement, you find a man just outside of the building pounding on glowing metal. Sweat bears on his musculature as he shapes the heater metal. He doesn't notice your approach. Curiously, you see the frog person approaching as well.
((yeah I was just afraid we were going to fall apart without you. But what's the layout of the town? Is it like old western town lay out or does it have a grid layout like an actual city?))
Fenron stopped at the blacksmith shop. "I need arrows. I'll buy 50. " He said bluntly. Fenron, again, wasn't used to commerce or social interaction. He got straight to the point. He didn't do small talk if there wasn't anything he wanted to know.
