Celadrim responds, “Now that we have safely delivered these villagers from harm, perhaps we should return quickly and proceed with that plan of action.”
As you're talking you hear a distant roar that sounds as if rapidly approaching. From the parapet, a guard calls out "The dragon is attacking! Please! We need help!"
A huge blue dragon flys close to the keep and unleashes his lightning breath, three guards are killed and six more injured. The dragon swoops around the keep to recharge his lightning.

Gus
Gus looks at his companions, "Aye, someone come with me and let's have a look-see as to where we should be goin' nex-"
The dwarf braces himself as the guard calls out and the screams of the guards grates on his mind. "Damned flying lizards," he growls. He resists the urge to run up to the parapet and fling a few spells but holds back, knowing there is nothing he can do right now to help. But before he does that, he turns on Escobert, "Dammit man! Ye can't stand against a dragon this way! Ye'll have more corpses than livin' if ye keep it up! Ye need one to track it all the time and then take cover when it comes. Secure the entries and exits against the two legged thugs and take cover when ye can." His rage and anger burning over, he grabs Escobert's shirt, "Now, think! Where be the most valuable items in this town? Where's the leader of this town holed up?!?"
*Depending on Escobert's answer, Gus will still want to have someone come with him to survey the area outside, to see where the invaders have strengths and numbers, and see if there's a smaller group with someone who looks "commander-y" with them. I'm assuming help here, so I'll roll one for Perception and the other can do so as well: 5
Frilneiros curses in draconic, moving to ready both of his hand axes as he rushes over to see were the dragon is at. "Damn this weak form. None of us stand a chance of harming that bastard with what we have now. At best it would be children poking at it with twigs..."
The dwarf, obviously exhausted from fighting, misses the nimble, sidestepping Escobert, and misses completely and trips into the mud - he still goes through with his diatribe though, and eventually manages to heed Wolfstine’s advice, crawling to cover (and red faced as well).
Escobert gets red in the face and growls at Gus "I am the leader of this town, I appreciate how you have helped us but I will not be spoken to in this manner. If you want to help then do so, but if we don't do something that flying reptile will decimate us. We will stand and defend ourselves and our home."
The group of twenty defenders release a volley of arrows at the dragon as it flys by, five arrows manage to pierce the dragon's naturally armored hide. 19
The great blue dragon takes thirty seconds to recharge his breath weapon and arcs around to release it onto the defenders again. The defenders have readied another volley to release as soon as the dragon comes into range.

Thinking they might not have a chance he yells out in Draconic
"Oh great mighty dragon! Why do you wish to kill us!? Surly someone as great as you wouldn't let such lowly humans command you! As this Cult seems to do! If you leave us be you'll have many generations sing songs of how great and powerful you are!"
Watching this terrifying battle unfold from a safe distance back, Celadrim can’t help but finding himself marveling at the awe inspiring sight of a blue dragon on the attack. He’s a bit entranced by how the beast twists and turns as it powers itself through the air, sometimes soaring and sometimes beating at the sky with its huge leathery wings.
The loud crackle and electric death of the dragon’s fearsome breath weapon snaps him back to reality of this dire situation.
When the dragon comes within range (90’), Celadrim utters a string of arcane words and casts an offensive spell Chromatic Orb and hurls a small ball of frigid cold energy at the flying beast.
Attack: 17 Damage: 15
He then rushes back 30 feet (if possible) and yells to his companions.
”Let us return to the church and proceed with our original plan!!”
”Aye,” Gus growls back, dusting himself off. “But ye tell ‘em to shoot and then get the hells out of there else they’ll be burned like grammy’s brisket!” Hearing Celadrim call out, he follows him. “I can throw a spell at it, but it might not do much - are we to leave then or stand with them?” he asks.
Frilneiros moves to stand next to the townspeople with bows, holding both of his hand axes in throwing position. Even if he has no chance of hitting he wants to attempt being of use. "Even if it does do just that to it we will at least give it a few things to think on."

Gus
The dwarf nods at the kobold's thought and says, "Aye, so be it." Gus closes his eyes and mumbles some arcane words in Dwarvish - light, smooth words that seem contradictory to the gruff dwarf's outward demeanor. He moves his hands in concentric circles, waggling his fingers. As soon as the dragon is within range, Gus will point and speak the last trigger word and attack the dragon with guiding bolt before ducking back under cover...
The dragon takes the guiding bolt square on the chest, the force of the blow knocking him up a bit. He immediately changes course and flys away from the keep shouting “you’re on your own, this deal is no longer profitable for me.”
"Hahaha! Take that wyrm!" He glances back to Escobert with a big smile on his face. "Aye! Now be the time to take back yer town, Bertie! Let's round us up a few important-looking thugs, eh?" Gus seems to be inspired and has regained his energy with his astounding slap on the dragon. He looks around to the guardsmen and his companions: "Well?! What say ye all? Who wants to protect the beauty of this land against the jagged and warty ugliness of the arrogant invaders?!?! Or do ye wish to stay 'ere while yer women, children, and supplies get ransacked?!"
Celdarim watches in astonishment as the brilliant flash of radiant light slams into the dragon and instantly reverses the winged creature's motivationm causing it to turn and fly off.
"Gus... it seems that you are full of surprises! I have never seen a dwarf display that kind of power before, although to be fair, I have not had many dealings with your kind. Your gods must look favorably upon you, my friend, for it is no small task indeed to scare off a dragon. You are certainly the hero of this day, and you are to be commended for your actions and your courage. I look upon you as my companion with new eyes, although I wonder now, are your occasional bouts of clumsiness nothing more than diversions to hide this power you hold within you?"
"Either way, let us carry strength from this victory and use our Gus-imbued resolve to go round up... as you say, some important-looking thugs."
Celadrim responds, “Now that we have safely delivered these villagers from harm, perhaps we should return quickly and proceed with that plan of action.”
Gus
”Aye, agreed. We need some more info about this raid an whether it’s random or somethin’ else. Let’s catch us a commander!”

Readying his bow thinking what good it would do against a dragon Wolfstine replies
"Valuables? Most-likely the place we just left, the temple and here"
looking into the night sky he remembers an encounter he had when fully hidden and behind full cover
"You need to take your own advice Dwarf!"
He tries to urge Gus behind full cover
