At the Battlesite...Prentiss moves to Velshir before he lays the sword back down and collects the lighter Greatsword, suggesting it to CalPol noting another similarly well designed sword in the grass. (the normal weighted one)
In Thundertree...As Prentiss ventures around the sides, he sees that a weathered signboard by the door of this large building shows the faded image of a workhorse holding a flagon of ale. The building is sagging and dilapidated, but it is more intact than the ruins across the road. He sees several more windows with arrow slits in the closed wooden shutters and the doors on the north and south sides of the building are swollen tight shut. The Southern door looks to be the entrance to the old Tavern while the back more for use of staff.
Your movement forward also shows more of the area.
Kallen peers in through the arrow-slitted window shutters and smells the faint scent of yeast but large barrels block most of the dark interior. LIttle glimpses she can get of the room seems to indicate its a kitchen of some sort.
South of Velshir are ruined, side-by-side cottages looking as though they might have been the homes of prosperous shopkeepers or well-off farmers in their time. All that remains are collapsed walls and piles of debris. Several young trees have grown up in the midst of the ruins. Which seem to be moving slightly as Velshir looks.
CalPol hears what might be a small animal rustling in the interior of the building south of him. Scratchy sounds.
Joshua is ready for action from the center of the group and Brencharis alert also from the path.
Velshir squints at the moving trees. Did he just imagine it? Or are these the plant monsters? He quietly tries to get the attention of his comrades while studying the trees, and readies his weapon. Can he discern anything unusual or monster-like?
Brencharis is going to sneak towards where Prentiss is and peek into the windows stealthily trying to see if anything is in the house he is trying to break into, and if there is she’ll tell Prentiss quietly. Perception: 19 Steath:23
Velshir whispers to the others waving an arm in the direction of the buildings to the south and watches the trees again. They seem to be ordinary trees, maybe the wind rustled them? Eyeing the two in the middle where he thought he caught movement, he sees nothing else only small bushes and overgrown weeds.
Prentiss, working with tremendous force on the door, doesn't notice Velshir's gestures or whispering as the wood of the door splinters and cracks apart from the force of the crowbar. A a cloud of dust and small debris bursts forth from the doorway leaving him coughing slightly and standing next to a half opened door. His eyes trying to adjust from the dusky daylight to the darkness within.
Brencharis moves quietly east up to the first window just to the left of the door where Prentiss works. She looks inside to see a wall to the immediate right of the window and what remains of a kitchen filled partially with barrels and old cobwebs other details are hard to make out from your narrow view point. She doesn't hear Velshir's whispers or see his wave.
CalPol stands towards the back of the party staring at the weapon handed to him earlier by Prentiss as its shimmering and shifting into the pleasing form of a Battle Axe, exactly how he would have designed it. He does not notice Velshir's gesture or whisper staring at the weapon. @CalPol
definitely magical - you immediately know it's +1 and may be considered attuned to you should you wish to keep it. It will shift to the Great weapon of your choice but only be the one you'd prefer over all others, not changing at whim. Should your personal preference become a Maul for instance, it would change to that, but never be heavier than a Longsword. Feel free to choose an image if you like of the weapon design you'd prefer.
Joshua stands aware that Prentiss has positioned himself in front of an open doorway and appears to be unable to see inside for the moment due to the dust. Velshir is gesturing towards an area he can't see well, but doesn't see anything unusual from his vantage.
Kallen can only hear the tremendous noise of the cracking of the door seeming to come from inside, but likely through the other window Brencharis is looking in as nearby the door. She is out of view of Velshir and unable to hear him due to the noise.
@Prentiss to your earlier survey of the building, you have only been this far around the building but have noticed no evidence of any recent struggles nearby. He would also note the arrow slits but in the windows but hadn't yet inspected closer. Any stealth attempt would be lost at the prying of the door.
@CalPol please roll initiative in anticipation of the next battle. Nothing presently as of this post.
Kallen will procced to the back door of the building and will try to pry open the back door with her mace, using the back end of the mace to find a nudge on it and pry it open with her strength.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Prentiss will draw a dagger and cast light on it. Once the dust has cleared enough he will enter the rundown old tavern, digging around for items of worth while keeping an eye out for signs of danger (traps and ambushes)

A horrendous mold smell affronts Prentiss' senses as he begins to cast the light and at the same time Brencharis sees a moldy, rotten figure emerge from the doorway directly at him. Joshua and Velshir are both in visual range and see it as it emerges into the light but are mostly blocked by Brencharis' to his immediate left. Kallen is completely out of view on the opposite side of the structure from the group. CalPol seems to still be in awe of his fine new axe but has progressed another two squares east.
unknown's initiative -1
It doesn't appear as if this creature has been on its feet for many decades and it stumbles on the door frame slowed severely. Prentiss is able to complete his spell and illuminate his dagger but not make an attack this round and finds himself face to face with a humanoid, undead thing covered in mold, ash and rotting clothes. The closest comparison you can make to your experience is a Zombie.
Please state your actions. Prentiss may only take a movement action.
@Kallen you are at this time unaware of the situation on the opposite side of the structure aside from being pretty sure that the opposing door has been opened.
@CalPol and Brencharis please provide me with an initiative roll
@Joshua while you have fire bolt readied and can take immediate action, you are aware that it will ignite flammable objects close by and requires a successful attack roll to hit.
Cal Pol shouts “WEAPON!” As he realises he’s not spoken for sometime as his mind has been wandering back to some memories he’s rather forget.
he tries to hide the horrors in his mind with a smile. His focus switches back to the upcoming fight that he can taste in the air, these are the moments he feels alive more than any.
Prentiss, Joshua, Velshir and Brencharis hear CalPol suddenly shout, "Weapon!"Kallen would only hear a shout from the other side of the structure, but not be sure what was said. Battle has started though Kallen is not entirely aware that one has, only that a shout was made. You may all act before the Zombie(?), I will process moves in order of initiative anything said will go immediately except those requiring an action. (spells for instance)
@Joshua - your move will process as soon as I have Brencharis' initiative and since you've called to Prentiss to move assuming ready action holding for this. As Readied from prior round, you will still have your attack later this round.
@CalPol if he's content to keep the 'Battle Axe" I will add it to his char sheet you may also choose a description for it (or image) should you wish as it's connected somehow to you now and seems to look how you want it to. (more info in prior post)
@Brencharis please roll initiative unless I missed it earlier.
@Prentiss you hear additional sounds of movement behind the one in front of you but due to the sagging structure and creature in front of you, cannot see into the room.
Prentiss stumbles backwards and out the door to the south, but in a straight line so he can maintain sight of the creature. As he does so, he stutters to his colleagues "There's a zombie! Zombies! More than one, I think!"
He is not quite coherent, shocked by his discovery.
Brencharis screams loudly, backpedaling way from the zombie too quickly for it to get an attack off on her as she disengages and dashes towards Cal Pol and the others.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The creature swipes out at Prentiss with a rotting, moldy ashen arm as he attempts to move away Attack: 11 Damage: 2 hitting him but is quickly punished as a fire bolt flashes by hitting it solidly in the chest.
This causes a puff of Ash to erupt from the creature as Velshir moves in to engage it. Velshir already in motion smashes at it with his mace in one hand and fist with the other severely wounding the creature.
Brencharis screams and quickly extricates (disengaging/action) herself from the chaotic scene rushing towards CalPol for assistance.
CalPol spots very little room to wield his new weapon but may take his move in the 5' doorway now blocked again by Velshir trying to keep the thing contained in the structure.
Kallen hears from the other side of the structure a series of thumps, scuffling, smells fire, and a scream by Brencharis.
CalPol's move then Joshua.
@Brencharis, Prentiss and Velshir please roll Constitution save.
@Prentiss adjusted your sheet for damage done.
INSPIRATION AWARDED - Excellent gameplay! You all presently have inspiration - allowed to be gifted to another character or used for ANY reroll. Added to your sheets. (I'm aware of non-conventional use of inspiration)

(Oops, i don't know how to do minus the modifier so it's -2)
Kallen struggles to find enough leverage with her mace to break open the door, but can't draw enough strength. She'll need help.

Seeing the creature move toward Prentiss Joshua will shout "Prentiss move!" and as soon as they are out of the way he will hurl his Fire Bolt at it.
Attack: 10 Damage: 3
Assuming Prentiss will move away, Velshir will rush into his place and try to cave the thing’s head in with his mace.
If that movement is not possible then Velshir will try to yoink Prentiss back and get between him and the thing.
