(8 hours a day.. 80gp a day... that isnt bad lol. think of how long it took us to kill what's his name. we could have been making that sweet sweet mining money instead.)
Mica concurs with Rak. They could take some more gems when the mine was cleared. If nobody objects, he heads back to the waterfall to see what lies ahead.
You guys make your way to M6 by carefully crossing over the bridge at M5. A wooden pulley system has been constructed around a large hole in the floor. A bucket big enough to hold a humanoid is held up by thick rope. Three alcoves next to the lift contain wooden boards and mining equipment. It’s controlled by using a crank inside the bucket or the crank on the side of the pulley system. The bucket can hold one Medium creature or two Small creatures at a time. It runs from here to the area below, 15 feet farther down, and back again. It takes 1 minute for the bucket to be lowered or raised.
Phineas nods. "I'll go first," he offers, stepping into the lift and readying his twin swords. "But don't be dilly-dallying on getting down there to help."

'Phin, yank on the rope twice when you're out, three times if it's an emergency. Rak, I'll go down after Phin gives the signal to .......'
Mid-stream Kilmus drifts off 'hehe, how's the last one of ye going to get down if he's lowering ya in the bucket? heheh' the voice of his crazy Uncle Jeb - always fond of riddles and puzzles.
Mica follows the group, nodding after Kilmus heads down. Mica points out the crank that functions inside the cable when Kilmus asks his question. Mica was instinctually nervous about mechanical mechanisms, but he was comforted by his ability to teleport whenever he wants to.
Maybe he should lead the way and be a proverbial Kenku in a coal mine. Maybe not. Kobolds were frightening.
Rak would nod to Mica as he points out the extra handle before quickly working the crank. He felt safe up top after the group had cleared out the enemies up here but, but hurried through raising and lowering the elevator. If his companions died before could help, he may not be able to collect the reward money for a job well done. Assuming he was able to take his companions down with no issue, he would make his way towards the elevator and lower himself. His green amulet lighting his decent as he griped his greatsword in his hands.
M7 - The mechanism creaks as the bucket lift descends to the floor of a small cave where two dusty tunnels lead in opposite directions. The air is cool, and at the moment, there's no one around. Where did everyone go? You can either head to M9 or M8.
When Rak descends down to the lower level, he would immediately step off the lift and give Phin an slap on the shoulder. (casting guidance). Alright, where to now." He would ask as he looks around through the multicolored darkness. (multicolorged because of blue and green and whatever other colored flames)
Kilmus looks at the interior crank handle with surprise and wonder (totally missed that in Crispy's post) and then clambers into the bucket for the ride down into the shaft.
Hoping out, the paladin pushes forward to hold the intersection, carefully watching both directions to make sure no one comes to ambush the rest of the team while they all get down and get settled.
'Phin, you take point, I'll continue to bring up the rear?'
M8 - A hole in the west side of this chamber opens into the central shaft, letting in the sound of the waterfall. The floor in the north end of the cave is five feet higher than in the south end, with a rocky ridge separating them and a slope on either side leading to the top of the ridge. The walls above the ridge gleam with gem deposits.
Wisdom Passive Perception score of 16 or higher notices this:
A huge floating brain with a beak and tentacles is hiding up in the roof of the cave. If someone has a PP of 16 or higher, it notices it's noticed and attacks. Roll for initiative.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Well! Looks like we have a few more gems" Rak would say with a grin. he would make his way over towards the deposits looking them over while trying to determine if they are more valuble or easier to extract than the one he got before. "Help me to find something worth a lot of coin" The gith would mutter as he casts guidance on himself.
Kilmus would drift along behind Rak, watching the cleric's back as the greenskinned one searched for more gems.
'As much as I admire your industrious nature, perhaps we should push on and see if we can't find these Kobolds who are terrorizing the miners?'
Kilmus would turn in place slowly scanning the cavern for any signs of danger slowly twirling his halberd in a lazy figure eight - ready to strike the moment anything came within range. (Passive Perception of 10)
Kilmus turns as senses danger descending on the party. Keeping his blade up, the paladin keeps close to the cleric ready to strike at anything that comes within range.
