Playing style : any comments about your playing style
DM style : any comments about how you like your DM's to behave
Character concept : race / gender / class, subclass, and any other basic concepts
Character background : come up with a paragraph that describes who your character is, their motivations, and where they came from.
Playing style: like a good balance of roleplaying and combat
DM style: just treat the game as seriously as the players do
CHARACTER CONCEPT:
Race: gnome
Gender: male
Class: artificer, artillerist
Wyatt Dunnigan is a former mercenary who witnessed a great tragedy that left him shell-shocked (will work with DM to fit into campaign story). He now spends his days drifting and drinking, while tinkering with magical objects is the only therapy he has had. He has realized that he needs to change something or he'll end up in a random pauper's grave.
DnD 5e experience : New-ish. Last played like 20+ years ago until like 7 months ago...
Playing style : Adaptable... I think I tend to adjust to the rest of the party, both in level of RP and length of posts and such.
DM style : Just don't take offense when I screw something up :D
Character concept : Tiefling/ Female/ Monk - probably way of shadow. Possibly eventually taking some Rogue level, mainly for background...
Character background : Gorm Diabhal was a foundling, picked up off the streets of the city by a local rogues guild / band of ruffians, cutthroats and cutpurses. She was raised as a bit of a mascot early on but eventually showed an aptitude for fighting so they focused on training her as a bit of a bodyguard, leg breaker, general muscle type. Eventually Gorm realized these people weren't really family and that there needed to be more to life than taking from others. So now she is basically doing the whole "walk the earth" thing, learning as she goes...
DnD 5e experience : Relatively new (but familiar with various d20 games, including 3.5 and 4e)
Playing style : I enjoy a game that incorporates all aspects of D&D (combat, roleplaying, problem solving). I prefer PbP games where the writers focus on external description, dialogue and action, rather than brooding emotional stuff.
DM style : I am open to various styles of DMing. I guess I'd like a DM who gives each player some chance to shine in terms of the story, the fighting, etc.
Character concept : Corwin Moonshadow / Wood Elf / Male / Druid, Circle of the Moon
Character background : Corwin Moonshadow was a druid in training amongst the wood elves of his tribe in the High Forest. The druid priestess saw him as a very promising novice and encouraged him to go out on a patrol of giant owl riders to learn more about their woodland home and the rangers who protected it. However, the leader of the expedition was Corwin's rival for affections of an elven singer. Trying to show off and prove he was fearless, Corwin flew off from the others at high speed and got lost deep in the woods for hours. By the time he found his way back, the patrol had been slaughtered by some unknown attacker or attackers. The tribe blamed him, thinking Corwin had led his rival into a trap. He was exiled. He fled far away to entirely different forest realm and became a hermit living deep in the woods and following the way of The Lone Wolf elven god Fenmarel Mestarine. He often went weeks on end without seeing other elves, humans, etc. But he was not entirely bitter. He would protect the woods around him from threats and even occasionally helped humans, half-elves and elves who traveled through the area to a nearby village for trading. But he was broken-hearted to be an exile. He eventually befriended a half-elf ranger from the village who convinced him to come to town from time to time. One day, as he sat having a drink with his ranger friend, word of adventure afoot came to the tavern...Corwin was eager to redeem himself and prove his old tribe wrong in exiling him. He has a good heart beneath his gruff manner...but he also has something to prove.

DM style : i think the DM should be nice and understanding, but able to put their foot down, and be commanding.
Character concept : drow half elf / male / sorcerer, this homebrew one if i am allowed to, otherwise, i'll do shadow / i hope this is ok, but this character feels like an outcast, and everybody hates him, so he generally, sticks to the shadows, and hates other people.
Character background : Nephchar Cursedone was born to two outcasts, a drow, who abandoned her people, and a human who had an experience with the abyss when he was young, and was thought of as cursed. when i was born, they dumped me on the streets and made me scavenge for food. i grew up with everybody hating me for being a "filthy half breed" and for being descended from a cursed one. i quickly learned to stay to the shadows, and eat whatever i could find off the street. since then, my only goals have been survival, and respect.

Eventually the library grew too small to contain her desire to learn everything that she could about the world. Still, she stayed for a time, fearing that she would not have the strength or cunning to protect herself in the wider world. Luckily, one day she stumbled upon some magical texts which spoke of ways to gain power without resorting to dark means. Forging a pact with an archangel, she took her newfound magic and set out on the road. Intent on experiencing the world and learning all that she can, Cifray is now a capable yet young adventurer ready to make her mark.

PbP experience : Experienced (maybe). I've been doing DnD for a couple of years now. I've been a DM for friends and have rarely had the chance to play a character.
DnD 5e experience : Experienced. I'd played some 3e, but I like 5e much better.
Playing style : I like roleplay to combat at about a 70-30 ratio. I like seeing how characters develop and interact throughout the campaign. I tend to play cautious characters.

Character Background : Moskov Devont was born in the world of Mezzix. Mezzix rests on a magical leyline that connects the planes of the multiverse together. If it were to be conquered, it would provide almost unlimited access to any plans of existence. The Elemental Prince of Evil Air sought to conquer Mezzix for this very reason. Gathering his forces, he ripped a dimensional rift in the sky above one of the oceans of Mezzix. Through this gate, he would craft storms of unparalleled power and send them through to wreak havoc on Mezzix. He would send elemental creatures with the storms to conquer the land.
The inhabitants of Mezzix responded quickly to the threat. Harnessing the powerful magic of the leyline, they constructed magical barriers to shield the land from the assault. Because a massive planar gate to the Plane of Air was nearby, some people in the coastal cities began to manifest an affinity for air magic. These people formed and organized the Stormwardens, a military group dedicated to defending the barriers that protected the world.
Moskov was one such person. He joined the Stormwardens as soon as he could. He was one of the Stormwardens to be gifted the power of flight. As Mezzix slowly aligned itself with the elemental plane, air magic became more powerful. Moskov and others grew in power with it.
During one of the storms, Moskov's squad was patrolling the wall and scouting for threats. Flying through the massive hurricane full of lightning, hail, and rain, he spotted a colossal elemental monstrosity wading through the storm towards the barriers along the coast. A horde of elemental beings swarmed around it acting as bodyguards. A member of his squad races off to warn the Stormwardens while Moskov and the others engaged the threat. If it made it to the barrier, all hope was lost.
Their storm-empowered spells slew drives of creatures, but more took their place. His squad harassed the elementals as the elementals killed them one by one. By the time that the rest of the Stormwardens mobilized, it was too late. The colossal elemental shattered the barriers and destroyed itself in a monumental explosion that shook the foundations of the world.
Moskov was blasted into a hole in reality created by the explosion and arrived in Faerun, unconscious. When he awoke, he found himself in a strange and hostile world. His magic was incredibly weakened as he was far away from his source of magic, the leyline. Wounded, he staggered his way into the nearest town.
Now, on a new world, he must learn how to return to Mezzix. He must continue his fight against the elementals. He must.
Sylbwyn travels from village to village scamming people at card games. This has left him with an occasionally unsavory reputation, but he’s not all bad. He’s also perfectly willing and able to help where it counts, finding people lost in the woods, and getting rid of Orc raiding parties, from time to time as they appear. It wouldn’t really be possible without his dark companion, a panther of extraordinary ability. In fact, she is at least as much a warrior as Sylbwyn.
pbp experience: lots. I play a lot and I’ve been DMing a homebrew on discord for more than a year. It’s oodles of fun
5e experience: all of my play has been 5e. Several years now. Looking to expand to some cyberpunk
My play style: I prefer to let actions and words speak for me, and am pretty put off by delving into inner monologue. Let players and DMs get the picture of a character based on how they behave, and let it reflect the inner thoughts.
DM preferred play style: not everything has to be a secret. Draw me in by telling me about what’s going on. Also: pbp and dungeon crawling don’t go well together. Not really up for a slog through room after room after room of endless checks. It makes for monotonous play, not immersive.
Playing style: I... I don't know. I don't think I have played enough to establish a playing style.
DM style: Not sure if this happens in pbp at all as we can see when rolls are manipulated, but I prefer DM's who don't change their rolls to make it easier/less deadly for us. This mainly refers to combat but it can still be true to social interactions or exploring, anything really.
Character concept: I chose the monk. Monk/undecided race/Way of the long death/probably has a split personality, or maybe two "modes" in which s/he behaves.
Character background:
Was a normal person. Something disastrous happened. Barely survived himself, everything and everyone he knew was destroyed. Haunted by whatever happened, wandered the wilderness without any purpose. Was found on the brink of death by a wandering monk who pointed him towards a monestary where the monks took care of him. After his recovery, with no place to go, he stayed at the monestary and trained to be a monk. In the end he left the monestary to wander the land and help those he can in the same way he was saved before.

DM style : consistency is important and to be open to let players try things and use skills creatively
Character concept : Tabaxi / Female / Ranger, Beast master
Character background : Curiosity killed the cat, well nearly anyway. Shadow has lived most of her life wondering the forest of her clan. Protecting them and exploring the forest. Then one day she couldn’t resist taking a closer look at exotic animals and found herself out at sea. As a stowaway life became hard fast and now she finds herself in a strange new place and need to keep that curiosity in check and find a way to survive.

Character concept :
Name: Pinfeather Gollyfluff
Race: Halfling
Gender: Female
Class: Cleric (Unity Domain)
Background: Folk Hero
Character background : Pin was a bit of a scamp in her childhood, a tart in her adolescence, and an unwavering ally to the downtrodden in her adulthood. She comes from a large Halfling community and a shieldmaiden of Yondalla, The Nurturing Matriarch. Though she is a beacon of community and charity, she is not without enemies. A family of greedy merchants has seen to it that the church is underfunded and misrepresented to such a degree that Pin has been forced out of her community to lessen the burden on the church, she has taken exile in stride and seeks to bring community to those that find themselves alone and lonely.

An attractive woman with a few years on her, holds out her hand and gives you a firm shake. "Addison Bennet, and you are?" You can tell from her practical dress that she isn't afraid of hard work and the symbol on her satchel speaks of some religious holdings. "I'm a little new in town. You think you can show a lady where she can rest her legs?"
Easy going with an air of confidence, Ms. Bennet relates to you that she was once widowed, her late husband (bless his soul) was eaten by something out of nightmares. Through the faith of Moradin she was able to fend off the miscreant dead and smash in its head with her husband's hammer. She was accused and found guilty of double homicide, spending a good 10 years in the slammer. But she never lost faith. She kept up her prayers and took up the hammer in the prison shop. Got out early on account of good behavior. She's looking for a new place to park her wagon, and maybe do some good.

"Sooner or later, your Players are going to smash your railroad into a sandbox."

PbP experience : Experienced, I've been on D&DBeyond for over a year now, and have participated in a few discord based games as well.
DnD 5e experience : Experienced, I've been playing 5e (my first and only ttrpg) for about 2 years now.
Playing style : Personally, I like combat more than roleplaying, but I do love creating and playing out character dynamics. Definitely prefer to play a more serious character, but I'm always open to rolling with whatever happens.
DM style : Can't ask for much more than a responsive DM.
Character concept : Male Changeling, Oath of Devotion paladin, Charlatan
Rolled Stats: Ability scores: 15 13 13 11 10 10
Character background : I'll write this up separately and place it here when I'm done
