Gavin, your enthusiastic stab penetrates right into the eye-socket of the skeleton before you! Unfortunately that socket hasn't housed an eye for quite some time. Your attack finds no purchase against the bony menace!
The skeleton, being the mindless creature that it is, will continue to try to slice and dice Gavin. The skeleton deals a terrible blow of 7 points of damage! As the creature draws its now blood-stained sword from Gavin, he falls unconscious (oh no!)
As Gavin goes down, Barnos rushes over! With a flurry of blades, the skeleton crumbles into a heap of bones and splinters (Great job!) With the encounter over, the party finds themselves before 2 unconscious figures now. One is a stranger. The other is Gavin bleeding out on the ground.
Barnos, your quick thinking and action has proved to be most invaluable! Tearing off bits of clothing and maybe a bit of alcohol of some sort to clean the wound, you are able to stop Gavin from bleeding out. He is still currently unconscious, but stable.
As you approach, the figure seems deathly still, as much as the skeletons at first. However, as you reach out, something seems...off. The man on the floor seems too colored for a corpse and a looming dread hangs in the air.
At contact, you realize this is a elf, though it's the last thought on your mind. His hand snaps up and catches yours. Waiting so long made the joins stiff but his actions were clear. Barnos slides away just in time to dodge a leg that would've swept him to the ground. Carrying the momentum, the elf springs up, snatching his weapons from the floor.
"Fire take you and Death reject what's left! Who are you?" The elf stands mountain-still, sword and dagger poised to receive and return the next strike.

Gavin slowly gets up. The sword definitely hurt, but what hurt most was his pride. The only way he contributed to the battle was as a poor distraction.
Mumbling to himself, "That's what I get for trying to act heroic. A stab is a great reminder that I belong in the shadows."
Seeing the possible danger of the elf snaps him out of his self pity.
Talking to the elf, "We won't hurt you unless you mean to hurt us. You don't want to fight us. We just finished of some skeletons and there are three of us and only one of you. I just was skewered and can attest that it is not a pleasant experience. Take my word for it so you don't have to experience it yourself."
With Gavin being up and healed (thank you Wynn), and after the quit rude response for this strange looking elf, i remove myself back to the main chamber and start looking for clues that will point us in the right direction.
"My last party was kind enough to let me handle these fiends alone while they continued on. You'll have to excuse me if I'm loathe to put these down." The elf nods to his weapons.

Easy friend, we mean no harm, unless you mean to attack us, are you injured?
OOC: Am I still unconscious? Thanks for the heal!
OOC: Nope! With the heal, you're conscious.
