Droogan needn't attack for Yordis's attack instantly obliterates the man, and as he lets out a final scream of agony he points a finger at Yordis and he is consumed by fire. Dex save DC 14 for half of 12
There is something strange about the two announcers you fought, somebody make an arcana check.
Bowlder will check for strange magics where the announcers were, but others should check since Bowlder is kinda clueless. Arcana18
He will also get his 2 handaxes back, look over the fallen Announcer2 (loot the body), and see if there are any other exits besides the one used by Announcer1. Investigation2
(Edit: Surprisingly good Arcana roll, and Bowlder is having problems even finding the exit he saw A1 walk out of.

You realise that announcer 2 used exclusively fire magic and the other used necromitic magic. You find no other exits and therected is little left to loot of the announcer about a half dozen blackened copper pieces. what came first the big fire, or the skeletons rising?
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
@Quasimodal - Thanks for the info - I've never played with a warlock that was a pretty serious hit potentially.
Yordis groans, he opens his eyes to see Tilly slumped against him and he understands he has been once more saved by his new allies, the heat from the fire is gone but as he reaches to ease Tilly off him he feels her skin is like fire - she doesn't seem to be hurt though and her breathing is steady so Yordis does his best to make her comfortable before checking the area. It appears that after he destroyed the warlock who in return nearly slew him the other escaped through the door in the far wall. Fortunately everyone else isstanding and looking relatively well. Yorids turns back to Tilly using water from his flask to try and cool her head.
Concerned for Tilly he uses his knowledge of healing and medicine but he recent brushes with death have left him feeling dazed and disorientated and he cannot focus properly.
Are we at least calling this a short rest? I think we would all be ok with a hit die of recovery to top up any gaps. Also I'm assuming the DM is ok with us instantly becoming Lvl 2, if not please say so. Some DMs demand a long rest for it to kick in. Also might make sense for everyone to discuss OOG what they can do now, in case we hadn't been aware of the new powers.
E.g. Yordis can now turn undead (would have been handy a few minutes ago he thinks!) and his other channel divinity power is a 10hp heal I can share out among characters who start off below half max hp (I can only do one or the other per short rest). I have also gained another Lvl 1 spell slot.

Well, if we are taking a short rest, and we are level 2 now, Valentinus can play a Song of Rest to give everyone a bonus d6 if they're spending a hit die.
OOG: I'm going to keep Tilly's level up a bit of a mystery for RP purposes. But she's still at full hit points. Question though, aren't we in the middle of the area that had a bunch of guards a few hours ago? Shouldn't we be moving along to somewhere safer?
Cleco, in the future would you prefer if our general/tactical discussion were in bold but (move questions needing DM ruling or resolution in parenthesis so you can skip over our comments and planning?) or maybe the other way around, drawing DM attention to comments in bold...
I just need agreement, because to there seems to be a tendency to have indecision between the group, so its hard to know which plan to roll with.
Level effects will come immediately with the exception of spells that need preparing.
Once you come into the room you see a nice place fit for a nobles. It had a long fur covered couch, and expensive rug, two doors out to the arena and a door the back, all can be locked from the inside.
Droogan checks out the rear entrance to make sure there's no surprises waiting there for him and his friends before he takes a seat to relax, and to relax he thinks back over the battle and considers how he might have done better. A hard fought fight, he's pretty satisfied to have avoided significant injury he feels worn and may not have been able to keep pace for much longer. He wonders where the remaining skeletal wolf got to as well as their tormentor.

Wow - what game mechanic was that? didn't notice the first time I read it for some reason - probably that either way the roll goes I am down again!
Dex save 11
hah - save so half of 12 is 6 I now have 0 hit points again. Help
So does Droogan get a do-over on his whole turn then?

Yes he does, but I think that's it. Unless someone wants to try race down the other guy...
The battle was hard fought and now the fire begins to die down and the sun is quickly reaching into the sky. Take enough xp to level to 2.

Valentinus sheathes his rapier and surveys the now-once-again-dead bodies around them. He moves to check on Tilly. Medicine: 21.
Does anyone need a heal? Now that we're level 2, Valentinus has another spell slot open. (He's also added bane to his spell list.)

Droogan picks up Tilly and carries her north toward the announcers booth where the other announcer fled.
"let's take a rest up there. Get out of the open here before anyone shows up."
he takes a look around the booth (which I presume has an exit and a locking door to the arena.)

Yordis, being close to the entrance the group used to go into the arena, walks back to that door to check for anything approaching.

If he sees nothing he rejoins Droogan and the others on their way to the booth
For some reason he does this with his eyes closed

Close your eyes and roll with disadvantage to overcome illusions that rely on sight, it was totally intentional.
(Droogan gains Action Surge, will regain all features on short rest)
