I'm new to 5E but experienced with other editions and with PbP. This will be the first thing I've run on these forums.
Four players wanted for a short campaign/long adventure. Expect problems-solving/investigation, social interactions/challenges, and combat. The adventure is based on an old Dungeon magazine module
Legacy of the Liosalfar
If you have already played or run that particular adventure, you'll want to give this one a pass, I think.
PCs:
1st level
no evil alignments
roll standard or point buy
milestone advancement
Humans are recommended (variant human race is allowed). If you want to play another race, ask me about it.
The party should include a wizard or similar spellcaster.
Someone in the party should be a proficient tracker. A wide range of non-combat skills may prove useful.
The default assumption is that all PCs have grown up together in a small human-inhabited farming village, Rillsford. Other backgrounds are possible. In such cases the PC may be an outsider working for the local lord.
I'll look over submissions and pick the four that fit best.
Alignment is mainly Neutral but honestly wavers depending on the situation. Never evil but the laws are really just suggestions, no? And while he is a bit of a scam artist and charlatan, he does try not to take from those who truly cannot afford it.
Backstory - If you want one:
Shayne grew up in and around bars all his life. It wasn't the drink that drew him, but rather the camaraderie, the joviality. The way there was always music, and always stories, and always tall tales to be told. Shayne had a gift of gab and a way of making people believe even the most outlandish of tales. As he grew into adulthood he found he could make some coin this way... And on the nights when the coin was spares, there were usually patrons deep enough into their cups that coin could be gotten by less honest methods. Shayne would know just about everyone in town, whether they hit the pubs or not... He's just that kind of friendly, gregarious person who always has a hello and a word of three to swap with everyone. Though... It is possible that he is starting to wear out his welcome. Whether one is good at it or not, eventually people figure out who is always around when the coin purse was missing or the card game seemed a bit tilted...
Backstory: Not one for company, Eric would oftentimes spend his early days in the company of critters and the likes. As time passed and he came of age, Eric could be found on the doorstep of the old woodsman, Gareth. He was one of the few citizens that didn't question Eric's choice of lifestyle. The woodsman would teach Eric ways of the land - survival, hunting and tracking.
When Gareth became ill, Eric took on the role of furrier for the town. Lately though his thoughts wandered often to his younger days spent in the forrests, away from civilization.
Backstory: Just a village girl, helping out in the local temple of Chauntea (the Priest - Mother Katerina still hopes to make a good cleric out of her). Alyna, though, not so sure this is her true fate. In her dreams she keeps seeing enchanted land of fey and it's inhabitants - playful, a bit mischievous but so enchanting she does not want to wake up. Should it be up to her, she would spend all her time in the forest - in search of her "dream friends". Not everyone believes she truly sees them, but they did teach her the most interesting tricks (which she dares to show only to her closest friends)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.

Xylys Trazin Human Sorcerer (Wild Magic)
Xylys was always interested things arcane, wishing that Rillsford had something that attracted a powerful wizard, who he just knew would see in him a surprising talent that just had to be developed, lest the world be deprived of its benefit. Well, imagine his astonishment at discovering he has a sorcerous talent, one that needed no mentor, one that was wild! Although, when he grew a blue feathered beard once he realized that there were consequences; but, what the heck, this was great! He was smart enough to be circumspect with who he told and how he tried to use his new found abilities though. But he just knows, there is an great adventure awaiting him! He just knows and has let his friends in on the prospects that await them all.
Backstory: With his parents gone, killed by an illness when he was 12, Cormac grew up in less than ideal conditions. He needed to survive and was too scrawny to live by his muscles, so he honed his mind. Using deception and the darkness, he scraped out a living, developing his skills and making a decent reputation for himself.
Cormac is currently employed by the local lord as a sort of private investigator. He is in town under the guise of a man working as a servant in the lord's house and is given missions/things to investigate when the need arises.
It seems something has just come up, because Cormac has a new mission.....
I'll take the first four. If any of those players proves unable to join for some reason, the others who have posted submissions can join instead if they are still so inclined.

These characters all look good.
