In that regard, Rope of Climbing might be useful for more than just you, since everyone could climb up it with advantage for daring Errol Flynn-esque escapes if you're onboard. Alternatively, toss one end up while holding the other and tell it to attach to a railing. Lots of creative uses for that...
Isn't an Abstracted Weapon rare? It's a cool concept especially for a scholarly type, but don't think we'll be getting access to that right away.
Ah right, Thanks about the abstract weapon. I didn’t notice the rareness. So, probably going for a gravity weapon & rope of climbing. We don’t have a healer right? Maybe each crew person should purchase a potion of healing?
Also, question. It looks like we can “stack” inspiration. Eclipse can grant inspiration to the entire party using the performer feat. According to the feat definition, As a 3rd level character he can do this 3x/short rest. Can he give a series of, say, 12 performances on a travel day on the ship, stacking 12x inspiration for each player? Each use of the feat takes 10 minutes, and a short rest is an hour at least so the whole series would take 5+ hours. I assume that won’t be possible, but I just want to be clear on the limits.
Artificers have access to cure wounds, so Tyrod would be the closest we have to a healer. It’s a shame, I was going to go for the scoundrel bard but thought there was too much overlap with some other posters at the time. Oh well, I’m happy with the concept I have now. Jenaer also has the chef feat, so he can make some treats that grant temp hp and improve your short rests. Bazlachi said healing is for weaklings anyway (classic barbarian).
*shifty eyes* Bazlachi has some potions. Also while Bazlachi believes it better to slay the foe than to stop for healing, Madclergy says please heal Bazlachi lol
Does the rigging extend to the top of the balloon, in that I could climb up the rigging and perch on the top of the balloon as the ship flies around (assuming fire resistance keeps me safe from the hot air temperature)?
Would be an interesting tactic if I stuck to the top, then launch off as the ship does a drop-hop...
The Performer feat reads "Once per short rest, you can perform for a group, by any medium, and potentially bolster their spirits. This takes approximately ten minutes, and can target up to four times your Charisma modifier individuals. They gain Inspiration." I should probably put some further limit on the stacking. Let's say you can have any number of instances of Inspiration, provided they are from different sources.

Not sure if we’re reading from the same source. The one linked to my character sheet says “Once per short rest per level.” Eclipse is 3rd level.
I was worried that I'd linked to an older version of the sheet, but it's the same one and I'm not seeing 'per level'. It's possible one of the others who's worked on this with me made a change (though they usually don't), so I'll ask around today. Also, to clarify, I'm going to say that different Flaws count as 'different sources' for the purposes of Inspiration.
DandDSince1973> Mind if the nobles in your background were from the Mawn of House Lareyon?
As a play format, every few sessions each ship will be given a choice as to where to go next, usually in the form of a few locations, with some information on each. There will also be occasional encounters that the ship doesn't have control over. PCs can offer other options to the group in-character, with responses done in-character. At any time, a PC can take actions on the ship, such as interacting with other PCs or doing downtime activities.
DandDSince1973> Mind if the nobles in your background were from the Mawn of House Lareyon?
Eclipse has the standard “my parents are gone, I was raised by someone else” trope as part of his background story, so maybe he could be born Toshentor Clan and raised by a Lareyon noble?
Also I read the Mawn naming conventions, and I think his “legal” mawn name is something which fits that nomenclature. But he picked up his current moniker along the way, or devised it himself as a stage name and only uses the “legal” name when required to.

Raised by was what I meant. I kind of assumed he didn't go by his legal name and used a stage name.
I'll wait to the end of tomorrow for those who haven't submitted a sheet but mentioned interest. If too few people are on the second ship I'll add an NPC.
I've only seen character sheets for Theena and Riardon so far. On the second ship. If you guys don't mind being a small group, we can have you set out just the two of you.
A two person campaign is a bit tough to play through. If Riardon wants to give it a go, I can give it a shot. Otherwise, I'd be willing to step back for the time being and let Riardon join the other thread (since OP was originally looking for 6 players) and they have a rogue already (though our characters are very different).
I don't mind running with 2, though it doesn't fit as well for the premise of privateers. If you're up for it I can put you with a crew of npcs. I have a plot in mind that will fit with that. To that end, let's say that the ship is called The Hungry Sky, and the captain, who is apparently hiring an all new crew, is a man named Mulvek Dash, who looks to be a Sil-Karg (people of mixed elven/hobgoblin heritage). He seems to have assembled the crew quickly, and though he insists he has a letter of mark, you've not seen it or been asked to sign anything.
Are consumables half priced compared to regular magic items? Ex, 50g for a regular potion of healing, or the full 100?

I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to withdraw. I didn't realize how little time I'd have for this playtest. Good luck, though, and have fun!
