"This all seems too dangerous for no benefit. We have already looted the treasure and slain the dragon. There is too much snow and ice around .. and above us. Let's just accept that it is now a dead ruined castle crashed into a cold inhospitable landscape. I say we follow Rudy's call and head to warmer places where we might be able to rest and enjoy our recent victory!"
Gryrig also is already keenly looking forward to performing the ballad of their heroic deeds at the nearest Tavern or Inn - and this dead empty ruin does not look like a good stage to perform to the adoring crowds
Azzure hears the creaking and groaning of the Ice. Nothing else comes from the remains of the once mighty castle. He is sure that no-one or thing is left there. But he also hears the war drums not far off. Be it of celebration or a call to arms, he is not sure.
(Do we still hear the drums? Are they getting closer, or have they stopped? In any case, another reason to move on I think)
Azzure is very mindful of the drums and the situation, looks up doubtfully at the tower, says “I think we should leave. Does anyone see a safe way out, down from here?”

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Torman nods in agreement with the others and while Trevor makes his way back to the dwarf, Torman starts packing away his brazier and items so he is ready when the rest are.
Kat will move carefully, so as not to disrupt the snow and ice, and hopes that they don't end up needing the additional quiet of her spell that she cast and let expire.

Heading back southward down the mountain road? If so you have no problems. Once you get past the area the dragon crashed. You note a cave entrance, you didn't notice before.

Does the cave entrance look natural, or is there something off about it like perhaps it's a hidden door that was opened now?
It looks to be part hewn-stone and natural. Set back from the road amongst jagged protruding rocks. The entrance would be hidden from most, not looking for it.
Gryrig speaks enthusiastically: "Interesting. This cave was clearly altered by someone - but likely intended to be hidden from passers-by. So, either there is something inside they don't want us to find..." (at this point, Gryrig pauses for a second, with smile and a glint in his eye, already dreaming of more treasures he might find) "... or it may be someone or something hiding, like a pack of bandits" As he says this last bit, his tone has cooled considerably from his earlier enthusiasm and smile drops a little. While always keen on treasure, he is also now quite tired of trekking through the cold mountains and would much prefer returning to civilisation and a nice bar - preferably one with a friendly serving girl.
“Should we have a look? I heard the sound of war drums in the distance, not sure if they are coming towards us or away from us. I could use a nice rest sometime soon. Should we keep moving or have a look at this cave?”

Torman looks to Azzure confused that he needs a rest, he looks to him questioningly but doesn't say anything. Just shrugs his shoulders and heads towards the cave, letting his hawk fly towards it first. Once they enter however, the hawk will perch on Torman's shoulders unless someone lights a torch.
Gryrig looks longingly over his shoulder down the road, thinking of the inns and taverns full of ale and wenches that might lie down the path. With a resigned shrug, he follows the rest of group into the dark cave. From his backpack, he extracts a hooded lamp and lights it to provide some light (being plain human, he has no darkvision)

And pop off a use of Primeval Awareness, just for good measure.
As an action, you can expend one ranger spell slot (1 minute per level of spell slot) to sense whether any aberrations, celestials, dragons, elementals, fey, fiends, or undead are present within 1 mile of you (or within up to 6 miles if you are in your favored terrain). This feature doesn’t reveal the creatures’ location or number.

Duncan:
Hearing no great desire to revisit the crashed castle given its precarious perch, Duncan looks for a safe way down and out of the mountains.

You hear the beat of war Drums faintly inside and loudly outside the cave.
