Gryrig accidently kicks something on the ground he notes a set of goggles laying near his foot.
(As much as its been fun messing with the no darkvision human...😎)
Gryrig picks up the weird thing he just stumbled on. Appearing to be googles, he indulges his natural curiosity immediately puts them on and tries them out. Only after slipping them on does it occur to him that he probably should have asked one of the more experienced magic users to maybe check it first for any obvious curses. But no risk, no gain. And afterall, he thinks, being the Hero of the song requires boldness and luck. And if it turns out this was not a lucky decision, he can always just skip this particular verse of their saga when he finally sings of their deeds to the adoring masses
Since you're turning back, roll stealth, too avoid being noticed since Gyrig has to use a lantern. DC 8
Stealth 18
If the Stealth check fails, Gryrig will use his Psyonic Knack feature to (potentially) pass:
Psionic Power: Psi-Bolstered Knack (Special)
If you fail an ability check using a skill or tool with which you have proficiency, you can roll one Psionic Energy die (1d8) and add the number rolled to the check, potentially turning failure into success. You expend the die only if the roll succeeds.
((How far down did the rope go? We could tie more on the end perhaps to make the 30 ft to go easier if we want to go deeper, but not keen on being 65+ft below the opening up top if something happens to the rope ladder.))

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Duncan:
Pulling out his silk rope, Duncan ties it carefully to the last section of the rope ladder, then lets it drop to the floor. With the extra 20 or so feet pooling down below, he starts climbing down as quietly as he can, then looks around the room as he steps to the side to allow the others to climb down as well.
The drumbeats draw closer cause you drew closer in your descent. The familiar has not alerted you to anything or one, descending down the tunnel.
Course, it is out of range.
(Torman, could you dismiss your familiar to its pocket dimension and then get it to reappear next to you to see what it has to report? We could then always ask it to fly back up the tunnel to the entrance above.)
(From the Familiar spell: "As an action, you can temporarily dismiss the familiar to a pocket dimension. [...] As an action while it is temporarily dismissed, you can cause it to reappear in any unoccupied space within 30 feet of you. ". So summoning it to your side this way should take 2 actions, or 12 seconds)

Gryrig marvels at his new Goggles, thinking to himself 'Amazing. This is what it must be like for Elves and many of the other races'. No longer needing actual light, he extinguished his hooded lantern and then stows it away in his backpack. He then follows Duncan carefully down the rope, and once at the bottom has a good look around. Are the caves/tunnels we are in natural, or do they look like they have been worked/dug out of the stone?
