You see that the deck is marred in places by bloodstains. You don't know how old they are.
Ben:
Ben, you notice that the ship's wheel is turning but the vessel is not, which means the wheel is no longer connected to the ship’s rudder, and it can’t be used to steer the ship until the vessel undergoes extensive repairs.
Ben, Ess responds "Yeah bro, blade and shield, straight dope my homie!!"
To Korrik"Yeah bro. Let's DO THIS." and he knocks his sword against his shield which he's just strapped to his arm. He stands by Ash as she goes to the fore set of doors and tries the door/lock...
(Ben, you'd get no pings from this room btw.)
Ash, you can tell from looking that the doors are not locked. However, you can also tell that the door seems to be held shut somehow.
It isn't the lock that is preventing the door from opening.
Someone can attempt to force it with an athletics check, with help, or someone could try and smash the door open.
What's next?
Maps are updated!
"Want me to smash it open?! Just like old times?!"
(if you guys prefer me not using the spoilers just let me know.)
This might've been obvious, but now it's confirmed.
You see several fist sized spiders scurrying about on the passage and walls below the grate. There are still so many huge sheets of webbing on the floor and walls down there.
"There was blood all over this deck last time I was here too. Wasn't a good sign then either."
"Any ping from the middle would likely be in the hold, but I'd rather secure a room and open a door into the hold if we can, rather than dangling from a ladder. We can try the back door first, if that one is stuck."

Ben, you don't hear anything other than the waves and the creaking of the boards. It is quite eerie.
Ash, you move down to try the other door with Ess hovering uncomfortably close to you to see what happens.
The door is not locked, and there is no resistance when Ash puts some weight against it. The door opens...
A rough stone altar dominates this cabin. Strange markings cover its surface, dried mud cakes the floor around it, and humanoid skulls ring the wall above, each mounted on a wooden spike. The corners of this room are piled with garbage and debris — crudely cut wooden logs, smashed furniture, torn sacks, shattered crates, and small piles of dried palm fronds. There are also spiderwebs almost everywhere in the room. A staircase descends from the southeast corner, and an acrid odor fills the air.
Korrik peers in, and as the others look to him for an explanation, he shrugs.
"I don't know man, I was never in this room.... but I didn't get that crazy cultist sort of vibe from Aubreck, might have been decorated after she was lost at sea?"
He'll slip into the room and give it a quick look before stationing himself near the stairs in case anything comes up them.
((Image kind of looks like there are lit candles, assuming that's not the case?))

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Ok I will stop it right there, I need initiative rolls from everyone and at the same time please post your characters passive perception please and thanks!
Explanations etc. to follow once we get all of that.

”I’ll let you know when to give a bit… here goes…”.

Ben looks down the stairs and at the webs.
"Saying impolite things about the spiders' mothers will likely take more time than we have. Take point, we've got your back."
He stops and looks at Ess, before saying tiredly,
"Shield and sword Ess, straight dope."

Ben looks at the blood on the deck and asks Kay quietly as Ash fiddles with the door,
"There is blood all over this deck. That isn't a promising sign."
He then looks at the spinning wheel, then out to the rowboat to make sure, then adds flatly,
"This ship isn't long for the surface. Aubreck doesn't realized how very lucky he was to have come across us in time. Should have asked for 50%."
Before anything gets smashed he whispers,
"Perhaps we try the other door before we start smashing? If both are stuck, we can try tossing something down those webs to see what reacts?"
Ben looks down the grate and tries prestidigating the webs to get a look while the others work.
Ben, you prestidigate as many of the webs as you can which allows you to try and get a look down there.
Please roll a perception check.

Ben nods and moves away from the grate.
Ess is a bit concerned about the blood but looks more disappointed that he didn't get to try and smash the door open.
"Ok bros, yeah, let's try that other door. Ash?" and he taps his sword against his shield again.
Ash tries the other door…
If it’s locked, here’s a roll (with ‘help’, since help is available, and close by, and there’s no time constraints?)…
