Bertolt will examine a few things, making mental notes of anything that he finds important. As the rest of the group examines the room he will once again begin to ritual cast Detect Magic if there is enough time, saving his spells for combat.
Talion watches as he helps Erven investigate, after a time he grunts. "Quickly searching a deserted house for valuables is not your specialty, is it?" he says with a smile.
Erven points to the floorboard - “But I did find this, gold and silver, for each of us.” He turns away speaking to himself, “For all the good it will do us, here.”

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Talion takes some of the coins, "Nicely done." He glances around the room, half-expecting to be attacked, the turns back to the elf.
"It's always good to plan for the future, my friend. This..." he says, jangling the coins, "...I will use this to buy you all a round of drinks when we get out of here! Never lose hope: it is the only thing we have that can't be taken from us!"
@Erven No, it's not a cabinet. But as you look closely at the paneling, amongst the wolves and deer, you see something else - and it appears to be moving when you look at it....you could look closer if you like. The statue is very well-made and captures the essence of the humanoid in front of you. The eyes sunken, the smile sardonic, the expression exuding scorn and condescension.
Erven hears Talion’s words and pulls back from the paneling, just as he was starting to look closer. “Not again!” he says to himself. He stand up, walks over and collects his gold and silver, then says to the group “I don’t think that I want to eat here, as nice at it looks, I have no appetite. Should we press on to the next room?” Erven walks to the door to exit.

OKay, Talion, you open the door with your mage hand and it opens with no problem. As you do, the chopping sounds cease, but there is still a faint moaning coming from within. The kitchen appears tidy, with dishware, cookware, and utensils neatly placed on shelves. A worktable has a cutting board and rolling pin atop it. A stone, dome-shaped oven stands near the west wall, its bent iron stovepipe connecting to a hole in the ceiling. Behind the stove thin door leading to another area. There are fruits, pies, a whole roasted pig and other foodstuffs on the preparation tables in this room.
In the southeast corner (the black box on the map) of the kitchen is a dumbwaiter - a 2-foot-wide stone shaft containing a wooden elevator box attached to a simple rope and- pulley mechanism that must be operated manually. Hanging on the wall next to the dumbwaiter is a tiny brass bell attached by wires to other areas in the house, you presume.
Erven walks in the room and looks into the oven and surrounding area to the west and north, and looks to the thin door.
You open the thin door and discover a well-stocked pantry. All the food in the pantry appears fresh and clean, except for some of the root vegetables in sacks, which still need a good washing. From the ceiling hang haunches of meat on hooks, set out to dry; onions and garlic as well.
Talion moves into the room to investigate more thoroughly...
Investigation: 22 (Second roll, if helped 8)
No problem, just let me know what you're investigating :)
Anything out of place (eg. traps, loose floorboards, doors under carpets), inside the oven, areas where things might be stored (cabinets, drawers, chests)...

You don't notice anything out of the ordinary to begin with. The stylization on the paneling continues in this room however, and when you look close you can see wolves, trees, and snakes in the carved pattern. In fact, when you look closer, the snakes seem to move if you look at them closely...

Talion sighs, "Do you thing we will find any more of our equipment?" he asks.
He grimaces at the club in his hand and starts looking on the kitchen benches for knives that he might be able to use as either a dagger or short sword.
He examines the walls for a moment, "Creepy wallpaper..." then turns to the end room that Erven in investigating and does a similar check in there.
Investigation: 22
Finally, he looks at the dumb waiter in fascination. "Is this ... like a miniature loader at the dock?"
He plays with the rope for a moment, to see if it works, and in which direction it goes (up, or down).

When Talion starts looking at snakes, Erven puts his hand on his shoulder and pulls him back. “Hey. Don’t let this house pull you in. Let’s keep looking.” Erven scans the pantry and kitchen for any usable items or any of our gear.

@Talion You take a look at the contraption. Playing around with it and craning your neck to see above it, you can tell that it goes up at least 1 floor, but possibly more - it's hard to get a good angle. Gauging its size, you surmise that a small creature could squeeze inside this thing if they wanted to.
@Erven and @Talion You don't notice any more of your gear but you do note the various implements here that could be used: meat cleaver (x2), meat hooks (x4), and there are some chains in the room as well. There is a small hand axe (x1) too.
@Erven
When you look carefully in this room, you are able to see some fuzziness and flickering at the edges of some of the items. At one point, you blink your eyes and the room is absolutely covered in blood and gore; human body parts on the cutting boards; pots boiling and steaming with innards and eyeballs; and in the pantry, several still-alive corpses hanging and moaning from the meat-hooks, moaning low...you blink again, and it's gone, replaced by the finery that you see in front of you.
Sho stands outside the door as his companions search around the room. It seemed nothing more than an ordinary kitchen, with the same kind of weirdly fresh food on the table. The long abandoned house did not suit the well-prepared meals in the pantry. He sighs quietly and keeps an eye behind them.
Erven shakes his head, clearing the images out of his mind. "I think we should move upstairs now. Everyone agree?" He steps back into the other room, finished with the dark imagery in the kitchen.

Talion will continue to follow the ranger, offering help where possible...
(Any thoughts btw on the 2nd ornate vial that I “tasted” as well?)
With Talion’s help, Erven examines the statue further.
