Everlie stumbles from the slap, spitting out some blood before fully regaining his balance and standing fully upright in front of the Stranger again. Yeah, the slap hurt. A lot. Ain't no pretending that didn't have some sting to it!
"Don't be starting nothing with your bats and all and not be expecting people to dare, my man..." Everlie replies, his bravado and apparent confidence covering his actual concerns... (Based on performance (15) roll in Game Log.)
Talion nods at Erven's comment, "You'll be fine..." he nods in the direction of the stranger, "...he'll look after you, and I've got to go clean up anyway."
Bertolt exits, followed by Talion. As Bertolt passes, a confused Sho watches in surprise.
Talion, does Osgar come with you?
B6- The diminished swarm advances on Sho and attacks: Attack:8Damage:1.
B1 - the bat swarm begins to fly towards Bertolt and Talion but stop abruptly and move into melee with Sho. It readies its action to occupy the space as soon as its comrades are done with him.
B3 - seeing Everlie confront the mysterious figure, it moves onto him and attacks: Attack:18Damage:6
Erven sees the tides changing, feels the opportunity slipping away from them. "He's gone, I don't know where he is."
He looks to the stranger and says "You win. Call off your bats and leave us be. We wanted to give Doru peace and give him a proper burial. You have won... for today. There will be a reckoning, someday. It looks like Father Donavich's heartache must continue. What is your name, in case we ever meet again?" He disengages from the bats and moves south to be alongside Bert and Talion, frustration and anger evident in his voice.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
The figure laughs at your frustration, expecting the tears to flow at any moment. "Oh, my misguided pet. I don't take orders from men - or women, for that matter - and Doru didn't need a burial, he needed a birth. You'll see him soon enough I am sure." The figure turns and begins walking away, it looks back at you and you can clearly see the pointy incisors....

Around this time, you all hear sounds coming from inside the church - crashing, stumbling, shouts, furniture being pushed - you recognize the voices of Onyx, Irek, and Ismark!
Everlie holds his ground, refusing to show fear, pain of bother as the stranger turns and steps away. He considered briefly taking a swing at them as they left but though he was hiding it, he was too hurt to want to prolong this particular battle... Everlie stands motionless, acting the tough guy, ready to dodge at a moment's notice.
Sho's brows crease as Bert and Talion take off, apparently under some sort of enchantment. Luckily he was protected by his deathly ward. Still, he feels frustrated for letting the vampire runt run away. Doru seems unaffected, but Sho winces at the warrior's injuries. He eyes locked on the retreating back of the stranger, committing it to memory, and his whip slashes through the swarm of bats circling him, leaving black smoke in its wake.

Several more bats are caught in Sho's icy hand, dropping to the ground with little plops. Only a couple bats remain.
As the stranger begins to walk away, it's form changes and shimmers, and you see the smiling incisors of the face turn to a female face - one that you recognize quite well - it is the Countess herself! Laughing melodically, her form dissipates into mist, scattering as you watch. The mocking laughter remains and finally disappears. "You're not ready.....yet."
At this point Onyx and Irek make the door, swords drawn, and focus on the nearest swarm. You hear Ismark yell, "No! Irek!" Onyx - attack B5 with two attacks of his sword: Attack:21Damage:9. Attack:19Damage:9.
Irek - attack B4 twice with short swords: Attack:21Damage:9. Attack:7Damage:5

Onyx heavily damages B5 - it's still up - and you note with approval Irek's fine bladesmenship, as he deftly cuts the remaining bats of B4 to ribbons. It is no more!
What's left of B5 will fix on Onyx and attack: Attack:15Damage:1.

As the figure transforms and then vanished, Everlie continues staring after them. That was not their nemesis, but their nemesis’s boss. He hated them as well, but they were not his first priority… still, the rage inside him gladly accepted a new target for its focus.
Hearing a furor behind him, Everlie finally turns away and see there are still bats to deal with. He absently throws his great sword again, attempting to disperse them.
Bertolt seems to look around before shrugging and moving away due to a feeling of trust for the strange man.
