Bertolt will find a seat at the inn and order a drink, going into his bag to pull out one of his books to read as he waits for his drink.
As you wait for your drinks you think on the days events. Quite the interesting set of happenings! As your drinks come and you finish them, you catch each other's eye and suddenly wonder - looking at each other in surprise - why are you here drinking when your friends are being attacked by bats?!
[You have completed the advice given to you at the end of your drink - it was a really nice drink. You each can subtract 5 coppers from your money].
Talion stares at his empty mug, blinks once, then jolts upright in his seat.
"What the ****?"
He grabs is pack and rushes out of the inn, then runs back to the church, looking for his companions. Upon arrival he looks for bats, and finding none, nods in satisfaction and relief. "He did say you would be safe, and I trust him, but I should not have left."
Erven looks over to Sho and Onyx, says “Where the hell did Talion and Bert go? I tried to stop them, jar them awake. They looked almost to be in a reverie.”
Erven looks over to Everlie, says “That Talion guy, he’s always running off in a fight. Usually to gain better position to attack from afar, but this seemed.. different. Like he was under a spell. How are you feeling, you look pretty banged up. You need some healing.” A thought occurs, he turns to Onyx. “How is Donavich? Does he know what happened here?”

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Onyx shakes his head. “Not well. Whatever put us under it seemed to really affect him. I will stay of course,” he looks to the building, “and fix up this place. Consecrate the grounds anew and bring Lathanders light back here.” He says it with resolve and for a moment you feel saddened by it, but you know Onyx will be a stalwart and just figure for these people.
Everlie shakes off concerns about his welfare - "I'll be fine with a little rest and ale..." - but seems to put more consideration into the idea of a spell. "A spell, brother? You think so? It would seem to line up with that spooky dude and his obedient bats, I guess... I guess I can't hold that against them then, huh?"
After a few moments of just calming down and coming out of his rage, Everlie looks to Erven and says "Well then, I guess we should go about finding where they wandered off to?"
“He told them to have a drink at the inn, perhaps we should head there to find them. After that,” he looks to Irek and Ismark, “Are you ready to go? I think we should get you out of here.”

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Bertolt shakes his head and curses as he realizes what was done to him, this only growing into a verbal string of vulgarity as the simple fact that they had completely failed at their intended purpose hits him. Now a vampire was on the loose.
"Could be a spell," Sho says, eyes lowered, adjusting the shield straps on his arm, "Vampires are also known to have supernatural power of compulsion. The ward could protect it," He says as the faint green luminescence from his earlier abjuration spell shimmers then blink off, "otherwise it could be dangerous. She only wanted us gone; but she could've easily turned them against us."
He glances at the bats' nasty bites left on Everlie's body, "Either way, we should go find them. A rest is due before we set out again."
Still in the early morning and there is a bit of a chill in the air. It is getting lighter so whatever passes for day time in this place is surely beginning. You remember - with some concern - how your thoughts about the vampyr and sunlight seem to not apply here. It makes the curious among you wonder about the actual physical properties of whatever reality you seemingly find yourselves in.
With all that has happened, it's hard to believe that only a short time has passed since your Vistani transportation dropped you off near the gates of the town of Barovia.
As you move towards the town, you hear somewhere in the distance the rumble of wooden wheels on rough ground. Far in the distance you think you saw the old crone from before, the one Erven bought some pastries from.
Erven looks for Lucky Bear, calls to her, worried about where she went during the fight. He lets out a whistle, calling for Lucky. "Lucky Bear, here! Where are you?"
He walks over to the old crone and says "Pardon me, ma'am, that pastry that you gave me, I had the oddest dream that night! What exactly did you put in that pie? It tasted delicious, but I think it gave me the strangest dream. Do you know?"
After hearing her, he walks back to the others and says "Let's go to the Tavern. Perhaps we can rest for a while and find Talion and Bert. Are you ready to go?" He turns to Onyx, and says "Watch over Father Donovan, and help Ismark. We will get Irek to safety. By the way Onyx, if you don't need that cloak of mine anymore, I would like it back."

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Erven, you try to catch the crone but after taking the side street you think she went down, you don't see her. You get to thinking about those tasty pastries...you think you have some extra somewhere....
Onyx is back at the temple/church...he will not follow you further, but if you say that to him at the church, he will thank you for your generosity, "Thank you my friend. Our way here will be perilous and full of danger. Again, many thanks - your nature is truly selfless. May Lathander bless your travels." Onyx closes his eyes and speaks some words, revitalizing your body and all its hurts. Heal 1d6+3 HP if you're down any and gain inspiration.
When you get to the tavern, both Bertolt and Talion are sitting around, drinking their drink, Bertolt reading a book by the candlelight. One might think the barkeep would be angry at this so early in the day, but the man stands impassive and emotionless, cleaning cups as you remembered him doing earlier....
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Erven puts on his shield, nods to Onyx and heals for 4 h.p. As they walk into the Blood of the Vine, Erven says quietly to Talion and Bert, "What happened? Why did you both walk away? Did you see us fighting the bats? I tried to jar you out of your reverie, but you kept walking."

As he speaks, the rattle of a beak can be heard followed by a rasping voice, "He's wasn't your friend, you idiot, even by your low standards!" The sound seems to be coming from Talion's shoulder. Talion frowns, and looks to his left briefly and the sounds stop.
He turns back to the others, looking up from his drink, "I like him -- and trust him -- but damned if I can remember his name. Do any of you recall it?"
Everlie stands a few feet back from the rest, observing. He had his doubts about the two who just wandered off in the middle of the fray and was looking to assess them, but he had to admit they did seem to perhaps be under some kind of influence…
"As he said you all seemed to be handling it well enough. Besides I couldn't have those things possibly damage my books. I to do not recall their name but they seemed to be most friendly." Bertolt says in a rather off handed manner as he continues to read.

Once in the inn Talion orders an ale and takes a seat in the corner, wondering what to do next.
Ooops! You don’t have to eat one of course. I assumed or read it wrong.
