@Erven Another swing with your short sword and it connects in the cloud of bats - a hit! Though, not as much damage as you thought - it must have some sort of resistance!
@Onyx A puff of poison emerges from your hand once more...Con save - 4 -swarm fails. It takes the poison damage! @Bert Your scathing rebuke turns a few heads...Wis save - 19 .they fail! ..and the swarm visibly sags, sadness in their beady little eyes - how rude! @Talion I moved you into melee with swarm. +2 still applies since you're the 3rd person attacking it. 2nd roll with disadvantage as it is in the same space as Onyx - 16 -a hit! Talion chops and swings at the swarm. It is still less damage than likely should be - Talion, you also get the impression there's some sort of resistance to this creature! BUT it's just enough to drop the swarm entirely, the last bat dropping dead with unspent tears in its eyes....
Combat is over....for now!
[nice work!]
The main hall is still and quiet, with a couple random pieces of armor on the floor...and more bat guano and guts than before.
Talion unbuckles the shortsword around his waist, "Damned thing's heavier than I thought. Anyone want it?" he asks, holding it out and looking around at his companions,
"I've never seen bats do that before...they usually flee the sewers when people get near. Easily spooked. These ones..." he shakes his head to clear it, "How is everyone holding up?"
(( Happy to move on to next door...whichever way Erven/Onyx leads, unless people need to rest/heal ))
Bertolt will take the sword and strap it carefully to the belt on his waist. With that done he will pat out any flames that may have formed on his clothes. "I for one would not mind a chance to rest. Those things hurt more then you would think."
After a tumultuous battle, the flaming bats faded out, scattering soot to the ground, as did their lifeless bodies, and Sho sighed softly as he looked over at his companions, left with wounds and ashes from their struggle with the beast. "Yes, perhaps we should." He agrees with Bertolt, looks like the scholar could really use a rest.
"I could use some rest as well. I'm still recovering from those horrible rats that bit me before I entered this place. Here's a small bedroom that appears to be a good place to rest. We could stand guard and watch in rotation?" Erven looks around the room. "Perhaps afterward we can investigate those doors."

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Talion looks at the wounds of his companions and Sho in particular, who seems to be in bad shape.
"Perhaps when we rest we should rest back in the first room -- or, better, the wolf room: Less gore, more seats, one door."
He smiles as he scans his new companions. Not sure I could have asked for a better crew. He seems to size each of them up slowly. Alliances, that's what the world is all about. Favours might be the first step, Bro, but in the end, it's all about alliances. "Staying together means staying alive. We should take this as slowly as needed, if we're all to get out of this."
He sizes up the old warrior, now heavily armed and armored. and remarkably lightly damaged. "The doors aren't wide...if your're willing to block the door for us, I'm willing to keep going, at least until your're battered enough to want to stop!"
So, are you short resting, long resting, or healing with the potions? Or a combination? Or pressing onwards? [reminder - you also have an as-yet unidentified ornate vial that Talion couldn't place...]
"I have been fortunate. I chose to let all of you search the nooks and crannies of this death trap and thus have been spared the worst of it's danger. I can certainly open a door or two in exchange."
He jerks a thumb at the ornate door.
"I can go first, if we want to press on a little further. But if a rest is needed, i can stand vigil."

Erven says to Sho and the others “I can press on, but if you need a rest Sho we can guard you. I have a potion of healing if you need it, Talion and I could never sort out what this one did though.” He brings out the ornate vial and hands it to Sho to examine.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
"If we are to continue I can heal myself in a minor fashion, but alas that would be the last of my more potent magical capabilities for the day." Bertolt explains as he he shoulders his lute once more, his hands moving so that they can grab for either the small crossbow or his newly aquired sword.
Sho takes the vial Erven handed over. He lowers his eyes, the vial was filled with clear liquid, his fingers holding the glass vessel, which should have been cold, but there was a constant source of warmth emanating from it, like burgeoning life force swirling and floating, settling in the gentle water. “This water has been blessed.” He says softly, before handing the vial back to Ervin.
“I have a potion of healing on me - which should suffice. We do not want to drag this out. A brief rest could let Bertolt recover, but please don’t let me hold us up. It is still early, let’s keep going while we can.”
Judging the overall opinion of the group, Onyx seems decided. New longsword in hand, he moves to the ornate doors that were earlier pointed out to him, and opens them.

"Let's have a look in the ornate door to the north, shall we? What can be next for us behind door number 2?" Erven prepares himself behind his shield and lets Onyx lead.

As the door is opened, Bertolt draws the shortsword and readies himself for a fight. He will move to be close to the others. "What will our next foe be I wonder...."
Onyx continues to focus on his innate cantrip, pouring more poison at the swarm in his square.

Sho, if you take the vial and examine it, you immediately feel a warmth that wasn't there for Talion or Erven - you know it's holy water.
