Also, I apologize for not saying this before. Please refrain from DMing me your character ideas. I know some DMs let players do it for applications. It's just easier for me to view them on here. Thanks. - Al

I have an intelligence of six, I know what I'm doing.
Vur was the results of an Orc raid on his mother's family farm. A band of heroes came across the farm as the raid was ending. They quickly dispatched the Orc. One member of the party a human monster Hunter named Terryn took a liking to Vur's mom, Gloriana, the only remaining member of the family that was still alive. Terryn stayed around to help her with the farm and the new child, as well as going on a few missions for the monster hunters order. Over the 6 years together Gloriana fell in love with Terryn. When Vur was about 5 years Terryn was in town selling good and buying supplies. When he returned that night he heard howls and screams he busted in to the farm house to see Gloriana on the floor throat ripped out, chest ripped open. In the corner was Vur, swinging a wood cutting ax, just enough to keep the werewolf at bay, despite the three bite marks on him. Terryn pulled his bow and fired into the werewolf a dozen arrows as it changed attention and closed the distance. Between Terryn's knowledge of short cuts, and stables where he could trade horses he was able to cut a 3 day ride down to one. With his small amount of knowledge of medicine he was able to keep Vur alive until getting to the order where they could save his life. For the next 12 years But trained with the order, sooner what of a natural, he matter all optical courses, and runs each in the record time. His use of a bow is compared to none. Terryn took it upon him self to insure that Vur got extra training, which was not a problem, when classes were over for the day Vur was still training. When everyone woke up Vur was already at it, he took shorter meals that everyone else just to get in those few extra minutes to train, he would be the best at everything he did.
Name- Zhox
Race- Satyr
Class- He is a willing warlock, with an unwilling patron. Archfey, pack of the blade
Background- guild artisan (he has never fully joined the guild he is still an apprentice) carpenter.
Alignment- somewhere between CN and True N
Zhox has always been a bit of a misfit. It never mattered what it was, his over love for the Feywild, his love of music, which wasn't the problem, the problem was that he was terrible at playing every instrument, and worse at singing. He only wanted to be part of the group, but his oddities keep him away. One day while playing in the woods as a kid he met Hyrsam, who offered Zhox power, all he had to do was to follow him, and one favor, "once you're an adult of course." All Zhox had to do was blow into the flute that Hyrsam gave to him as a sign that he agreed, and he would have powers. Zhox put the flute in his room for good keeping. As he grew older Hyrsam watched and decided that he hoped that Zhox would never play the flute, and he was thankful, he even stopped watching Zhox. One day as an adult he finally tired of being weak and the joke of the town, he remembered the flute. Zhox went to his room, grabbed the flute and "played it", after a few notes three things happened, 1 the flute transformed into a rapier, 2 he felt powers flow through him, and 3 Hyrsam's ears started to bleed. While his skills increased, he remained an odd individual who most didn't like.
Name- Glyntumal
Race- Human
Class- Wizard- School of Necromancer
Glyn was a happy carpenter, family man. He and his wife Quilinn lived in Spirit Hollow. One day about 8 years ago the town was attacked by bandits. When the attack started Glyntumal was at the tavern with his best friend, a half elf named Bryce. The bandits came in to town, killed over 100 people, and robbed more homes than that, and ran out of town never to be seen again. After the death of his family Glyn went toCapital Tree and went to Wooden Magic School. He was denied access to any information, much let alone the secured texts on bring people back from the dead. So Glyn hired a rogue to steal them. Once Glyn had the text he went into the woods and started working through the texts and learning. Glyn would go into Elvenwood for supplies. Glyn has recently decided that he has learned all he can from his books and needs to go out and try to learn more.
Name- Gadhan,
race-Galiath,
class- paladin oath of vengeance
Gadhan is a paladin of Olidammara (we can change this to another god that works), he is going to be a drunk paladin. Gadhan was born into a powerful and large tribe. When Gadhan was only a few months old his tribe decided to rade a city, small farm towns, and even the larger towns had gotten too easy, but they were too errigient of themselves. They attached fill in with a medium to large cities name. And the tribe was wiped out. During the clean up process a priest found Gadhan, alive, and strapped to his dead father. The priest took Gadhan with him back to the temple in hopes to bring him up in the light. But by the age of 5 he was moved to a temple of another god, one that he might serve better, after 18 years in the city Gadhan had lived in nearly every temple in the city. He was informed by Elyel the head of the Temple to Angharradh, where Gadhan was currently serving that he had to leave, and seeing as he was no longer a child the temple would not be finding him a new temple to live in. Gadhan went to his favorite place to be while not in a temple, The Ruby Sword, where his best friends were, Ail, Mead, and Wine. Oh and Abet the female innkeeper, and Iklal, Abet’s second best customer. After a full day of drinking, on the house or by Iklal, or any of the other regulars, who feel bad for Gadhan, he well blacked out. In his sleep he had a vision.
With a black and white smoke screen Gadhan heard “My Child, I have been waiting for you to finish learning the errors of the other gods, and be ready to follow me.” In the background was party music, and laughter. “My son, I have been waiting for the right time to come to you, now you must come and do for me, fight for me.” And that the cloud of smoke sworld into a mask of black and white, a happy side with a side side. With the dream ending Gadhan woke up, to the bed he was in breaking. He walked down the stairs from the room, that clearly someone put him in. Once he sat down at the bar Abet slid a plate of breakfast to him, and a coin purse. “Breakfast is from me, the coin purse, some crazy guy decided to take up some coin for you, not sure how much was given, and how much was stolen, but he said he hoped it would help you start your new life.” on the coin purse was the same mask from his dream. After eating Gadhan went into the city, and found shop after shop the he felt drawn to, and bought goods and weapons for his travels, until he was offered a job as security for a moving company, and off Gadhan went.
Thom Everyman-
Race- Human class Fighter (champion) Starting as lawful good, but I want for him to develop into chaotic neutral possibly multi class into warlock.
Soldier background, but really a city guard.
Thom is from a basic hard working family. His father is a Tanner, and mother a seamstress. He has one older brother and one younger sister, each took over their parents business. Thom has still never drank, or been with a woman. He met a woman he was fond of once, she was a traveling sales woman with her father. Thom never told her, but he is not sure if he is in love with her.
When Thom was old enough he joined the city guard. He had received awards for courage, valor, hard work and never being in trouble. Almost all other guards liked Thom, or at least didn't dislike him, except for a few "dirty" guards, and while they hated him and his goody two shoeness, they never showed that they hated him. One day while on patrol Thom caught one of these ``dirty" guards roughing up an Innkeeper, the only thing he heard them say was "next time have all the gold, up front, ready to go." Thom did about 2 months of investigation, when he finally brought it to his captain. The next morning Thom was woken up by a group of armed guards ready to arrest him. After they found a large sack of money in his personal chest, he was charged with racketeering. The evidence was too strong. After being in prison for a week the dirty guards came, released him during the night, they let him out of prison knowing that he would one day prove that he was innocent, and told him to leave and never come back. After that Thom left the town and went out to try and sell his sword.
Name- Trinity
Race- Half-elf (Drow flavor)
Class- Wild Mage Sorcerer
Trinity, full name DrizSsap-Afein-Trin. Trinity was born of a Drow mother, and human father. Her mother, Zyne Jar-Oyss, used magic to change her form into a beautiful human woman, to try and court Trinity’s father, Arthur. When Zyne Jar-Oyss found out she was pregnant she chose to reveal her true self Arthur rejected her. Zyne Jar-Oyss left the comforts of others, and went to the wilds believing that if Arthur could not accept her, as she looked, no one would. Zyne Jar-Oyss raised DrizSsap-Afein-Trin On her own in the wilds. One day when DrizSsap-Afein-Trin was in the woods foraging for food, she came across a man being attacked by a lone wolf, DrizSsap-Afein-Trin helped save the man. During the fight DrizSsap-Afein-Trin blacked out as the man finally killed the wolf. When DrizSsap-Afein-Trin awoke she was in a strange bed, in a strange room, with the same man in the room with her, as well as a holy Halfling woman who was treating DrizSsap-Afein-Trin’s wounds. The man and holy woman introduced themselves. Leofrick Farlight, a traveling merchant, and Drigold Ater, DrizSsap-Afein-Trin introduced herself, and Drigold said “All I caught with Trin, I’ll call you Trinity, if that’s ok.” and from then on she went as Trinity, to everyone except her mother. Trinity would then spend days of the next month going into the village, where her mother said everyone was evil, and bad. Trinity found this to not be true. Zyne Jar-Oyss caught Trinity sneaking back from the village one day, and the two started to fight. It was in this heightened emotional state that Trinity’s magic powers manifested, she blasted her mother with a bolt of fire, and then 5 little darts (magic missile) shot out at Zyne Jar-Oyss also, she then fell over dead. Trinity went back to the village where she spent a month spending time with Drigold and Leofrick. Trinity started to fall in love with the halfling woman. But Drigold was given the choice of staying with the church or Trinity, Drigold choice the church. A few days after being told this Trinity found out that Leofrick was packing up to move on to the next town, and she hitched a ride with him. While she did not stay with him very long due to odd things happening (the wild magic) to her when she woke up in the morning.
Name- Xyrfiel
Race- wood elf
Class- Ranger, Beast Master
Xyrfiel was born into a Druid tribe, in the Vermaloc Wildwood to the leader of the tribe, Benedict. Her mother died in childbirth, with her younger/twin brother. At the age of 10 Xyrfiel was found to not have the magic powers that most druids of her tribe did. (yes I know she will gain spells at lvl 2, she was just very stunted in gaining any powers, and by the tribe standards, she is super weak in magic.) while it was uncommon, these members were not cast out, they were just instead tasked with other jobs. Xyrfiel’s brother, Rulf, on the other hand was very strong with magic at an extremely young age. He was always very charismatic, and everyone liked him, however Xyrfiel saw through him, and into his dark heart. Around the age of 16 Xyrfiel came across a hurt wolf puppy in the woods, and nursed him back to health, and Deeohgee has not left her side much since that time. (I know she does not get the companion until lvl 3, but I figured we could work him in from the start, and not let him get into combat until lvl 3 or something along those lines.) As Xyrfiel got older she grew tired of the mundane tasks of a (I need a name for her status as not having magic powers), and she wanted to venture off on her own.
((Image of Ben D'Arthen - Mercenary Extraordinaire))
The hairs on Ben's arms prickled as he walked down the street. A sense of discomfort and ill-ease permeated his normally calm composure. Guards, everywhere, guards. He could appreciate the need for the City of Splendors to provide protection to the various merchants, artisans, dignitaries and the like. But still, that was his job.
Drawing closer to the city the frequency of guard patrols had noticeably increased. Now Ben stood inside the city’s walls the guards seemed to swarm all over the place like ants, or maybe termites. He felt stifled, suffocated by their presence. Waterdeep would never have been a city he would have visited of his own accord – no sir!
However, there was one thing that Ben held above all – he was a professional. Hansif Cait, the merchant he currently escorted, had asked that he remain with the caravan “until the market comes into view”. Ben’s professionalism demanded he enter the city.
The trip from Daggerford had gone smoothly, by-and-large. There had only been a couple of occasions where ‘unsavoury sorts’ had attempted to impede the caravan. Ben was certain that his presence, as much as anything, was the reason many would-be thieves had kept their distance. He stood a domineering 6’3”, with a stocky build, and a hefty halberd strapped to his back. Who would be foolish enough to attempt anything when he, Bennic D’Arthen, took point? The thought amused him greatly and he smiled.
Now things were different. Gone was the need for an escort. The City Watch would quickly end any attempts at theft! Ben continued to trudge towards his destination through the bustling streets, occasionally checking behind on the kind merchant and his fully laden caravan. The wheels of the caravan sounded out down the streets, but no-one gave it much heed. An old mule, Shelly, had pulled the cart since Daggerford – she seemed to be equally uncomfortable by the hustle and bustle of Waterdeep, but plodded along none-the-less.
As they approached the Castle Ward’s Market Ben allowed himself a sigh of relief. Hopefully, he would not stay much longer in Waterdeep, this job was coming to an end. Glancing up at the street names one in particular caught his attention – ‘Rainrun Street’ – that was home to the notorious ‘Yawning Portal’ Inn. Undoubtedly this would be Ben’s next location, certainly a Mercenary with experience such as he would easily be able to find work there.
Settling up with Hansif; Ben thanked the old man for the work and bid him ‘luck’. He strode towards the location of the Yawning Portal, the sooner he had work the sooner he would be rid of Waterdeep… and her confounded ‘City Watch’.
Race: Half-orc and half-elf (a homebrewed hybrid but if not allowed just half-orc)
Class: Rogue or Warlock
Subclass: Arcane Trickster /Archfey packet of the chain
Abilities: Ability scores: 141515131613
Backstory: Zedd is the adopted daughter of an underworld strong arm trying to make her own path. She's a thief by trade in the 'family business' but longs for a, dare she hope, better life outside the petty criminals who raised her. Zedd is dedicated, humorous, proud, and perhaps a little reckless at times rogue spell caster. The half-orc/half -elf often using humor to defuse tension or pranks to put those who think they are above others in their place. Born in the port city of Luskan, also known as the City of Sails, Zedd was a rebellious child who listened to the songs of the bards and the tales from the smugglers in her family's business from her infancy dreaming of adventure. Although Zedd grew up in the underworld she longed to be a hero like the tales and songs that her childhood inspired! With Zedd's curiosity and perseverance, there's nothing to stop her from finding a way to great acclaim trying to join the Force Grey or any good faction to undermine her family's business. With the right training and mentoring Zedd could quickly become a person of great importance and a legend in her craft. She already knows she makes a good thief having friends in high as well as the lowest of places in society but she wants to do greater things.
Reason for being in Waterdeep: Trying to escape her family and to build her own reputation seeking Force Grey.

He decided at a young age to follow Corellon. Finding a strong aptitude for divine magic, he has decided to leave the temples and spread good and smite evil through the world.
Why in Waterdeep: He heard tales of Undermountain, and currently plans to challenge it when he has attained the necessary skill.

Iiloryn Vae'lia Race: Moon Elf (High Elf) Class: Rogue (Inquisitive), multiclassing into Ranger (Hunter) and Wizard (Divination) later (trying to capture the feel of an Evereskan Tomb Guardian from 3.5) Ability scores: Going with point buy
Backstory: An aspirant Tomb Guardian from the city of Evereska, Iiloryn is taking part on a new method of training adopted after the Tomb Guardians were nearly wiped in the war against the phaerimm, in which the young elves must venture outside the hidden city and spend years among the aethen—the others—learning the ways of the most common robbers of elven treasures, then find an important piece of elven culture and return it to their proper owners. In his quest, Iiloryn made his way south towards Elturel and circled west towards Baldur's Gate, then north all the way to Waterdeep, where he heard of the treasures inside Undermountain, suspecting some pieces of early elven history might be among those.
Factions: Iiloryn would be more interested in those that would help him further his goals than actually being a member of a faction, so he would more likely collaborate with those with which he might share interests, probably mostly the Emerald Enclave.

Ouch. A 4. Can I reroll that one?
That's fine.

Class: Great Old One Warlock Feat: Inspiring Leader
Faction: Harper
Background: Archaeologist
Her first taste was adventure was falling into ruins near her home and this just sparked her interest in the past. After coming of age, she seeks out more ancient ruins to explore and document. Recently coming across an artifact she gains a voice in her head and access to abnormal powers. Believing it to be a curse but found it was a boon so she kept them. After a few ruin dive, she came to attention of the Harpers who shared an interest in preserving the ruins she finds and she found resources to help her quest.
While diving into ruins may yields treasure at times, most of the time it yields words and words are rarely valued leading her to take on side jobs for expenses which brings her to Waterdeep and whispers of great treasures that flows through the city and she wants a piece of it.
Experience: Played 5e since Curse of Strhad release and hven't really stop since.
Kirin - Level 15 High Elf Wizard (Evocation) - Zorg's Lost Souls - Overchannel Steel Wind Strike for the Win against Demogorgon Silas - Level 11 Human Cleric (War Domain) - Tomb of Annihilation Done
Backstory: Cardos grew up in one of I’m sure the many orphanages in the city of Waterdeep. He never knew his parents or why they might have left him, but mostly blamed his infernal blood for his abandonment. In his eyes, that must have been the reason. Why else? Those who ran the orphanage were kind and compassionate, but Cardos hungered for something more. There was something out there for him— he knew it. As soon as possible, Cardos left the orphanage on good terms to live on his own. But instead of a home, all of Faerun was his sandbox. Cardos took a creed to never rely on someone again; to never be left in the dust like his parents had done to him. He traveled the world, these words at the center of his entire being. Along the way Cardos picked up music. He found a natural talent for playing, and also found he could harness small amounts of magical talents through this expression. To this day, Cardos has still not found that thing he searches for so dearly, but slowly but surely has returned to Waterdeep. It has been almost ten years since he last set foot in the City of Splendors, but maybe what he is looking for had been under his nose the entire time.
*A quick note. I have played through the first chapter of the module, but the game fizzled out about as soon as we reached Trollskull Manor. I have a general idea of how the module works, and know that the game was played in the Winter. So the BBEG that corresponds to that. I don’t think it will be a problem, and I hope you feel the same, but would understand if I am not chosen.*
Never played the module but definitely one that I want to get into one day.
Ability scores: 1115971415 (That's with no 1's refilled)
Name: Kain Duskhunter
Race|Class: Human | Fighter
Backstory: Kain was a nomad. Well, he'd been travelling with a group of nomads for so long they had become family. For some time they had been running low on supplies so Kain had offered to visit the markets in Waterdeep to restock.
So this is why I shouldn't try and write backstory when I'm half asleep. It's terrible. I will rewrite it now. Apologies.
Name: Alberich Ironfist Race: Hill Dwarf Class: Rogue Background: City Watch(Investigator) Faction: Grey Hand
Backstory and Why you're in Waterdeep: Alberich has lived his whole life in Waterdeep, his family having moved there a couple generations back. He was a big fan of murder mysteries as a youngster, which led him to wanting to work as an investigator. He worked hard, and after first getting in as a regular watchman, soon advanced into his dream job. He has been at it for a while, and is starting to become disillusioned with how little one can actually achieve in the position. Recently, he was approached by Force Grey and offered a place in the Grey Hand, which he felt was just what he had wanted.
Carric grew up in Waterdeep, the son of a prominent family, a square peg who was pushed too hard to fit in a round hole. While other elves were studying the arcane arts and philosophy, Carric was hanging out in the back of the school so to speak, with the wrong crowd. He did had a talent at never getting caught. He had a natural tendancy toward the use of his hands for jiggling locks, getting into all sorts of places that he shouldn't be, and he was quite the artful dodger as a youth.
As he grew older, the risk kept getting more and more. One day when he finally stole what was a family heirloom, a jeweled necklace and set off an arcane trap, the wrath of his parents was brought down in full force and he was thrown out of his house, to his and their shame. He then turned to all sorts of means to survive on the streets.
His skill and renown for legerdemain became known to the powers that be in town, and one day he became a sought after commodity. He was sitting at the back of the Elfstone Tavern, a note was slipped to him on his table, and he made contact with a Harper. They wished to recruit him for his skills, and once he learned more he was intrigued. He is looking to find his fortune, and to help those in need against oppressive forces in town, and he will look to help them in their cause...
Experience : I've played a good number of PBP games, but I've never played the Waterdeep adventures so this will be new ground for me. I'm in eastern time zone and an active poster. Looking forward to it, I hope that I fit with your other players!
Faction: None, but friendly to the Emerald Enclave.
Backstory and why I'm in Waterdeep:
Rowan is a minor fey noble cursed by a powerful night hag to be trapped on the material plane. The hag told him that to undo the curse, he must do something related to Waterdeep, although he doesn't understand anything else she told him. He has arrived at the Yawning Portal and wanted to go into Undermountain to look for a cure, but has just realized he wasn't powerful enough and changed his mind at the beginning of the adventure. (If the backstory is short, it's because I like adding to it to fit the campaign after it's started. Same with personality)
Experience: I played the first scene once, but the campaign died after that. I'm in CST and this would be my first PBP. I've played 5e since 2016 and 3e before that, as well as a little bit of AD&D.
Characteristics: Creativity. I never run the same con twice; I owe everything to my mentor--a horrible person who’s probably rotting in jail somewhere; I’m convinced that no one could ever fool me the way I fool others.
Faction: Zhentarim
Background:
Tamasin was kidnapped at a bustling market at a young age, and sold to a slaver. Her beauty made her a candidate for sex work, and it was planned that she should become a prostitute.
However, she was “rescued” from these plans by Chaliers Gansel, a wealthy investor, former assassin, and handler of a network of killers-for-hire. Chaliers discretely funded The Forward Path, an orphanage and school in Baldur’s Gate. This was, of course, a facade that hid the true nature of the education given to the few lucky children selected each year. There, Tamasin was educated in the ordinary subjects of schoolchildren, but was also trained to lie, to steal, and to kill. Following a series of gruesome killings that were traced back to The Forward Path, the “school” was disbanded, but not before Tamasin and others were able to flee. Chaliers disappeared without a trace.
Seemingly alone, she set her sights on Waterdeep. She at first resorted to thievery to make her way. It did not take long for the Black Network to find her. The jobs have been lucrative. She now finds herself part of the nouveau riche of Waterdeep. She has taken an alias of Tamasin Tallbloom and styles herself a distant cousin of a wealthy family from Baldur’s Gate whose properties were destroyed in the aftermath of Torlin Silvershield’s crusade. She has a stylish apartment in Sea Ward, fine clothes, and a taste for expensive wine, financed by fencing goods, smuggling, and yes, occasionally killing.
Personality: Tamasin is a trained killer, but doesn’t think of herself as evil. She has compassion for those who are suffering, and disdains unnecessary cruelty. Indeed, she is generally liked by her neighbors. Still, she is not burdened by moral qualms, as her chosen profession clearly indicates.
I've played Waterdeep before, we made it to the end of the campaign and are currently level 10's in the Dungeon of the Mad Mage sequel. However I missed the start of the campaign and I kind of want to know how it all began, hence, rollin'. Character creation after I see stat possibilities!
Ability scores: 17151513127
Name: Kava Bulvezer
Race: Vedalken
Class: Artificer
BG Feature: Sage
Faction: Force Grey / Grey Hands
Background:
It was an experiment gone horribly wrong. One moment, she was comfortably settled in Precinct Five’s most prestigious laboratory, enjoying her freshly minted status as the premiere intern to Sestri Vollar, one of the Izzet League’s leading Vedalken engineers. And the next moment, she was gasping, on her hands and knees, still crackling with residual lightning of the unexpected planeshift into the strange-yet-familiar city of Waterdeep.
Technology was mortifyingly lacking in this new world; on the other hand, however, magic abounded. And the land itself was unspoiled; there were riches untapped in the wilderness, and adventurers aplenty, eager and waiting to explore them.
Kava had no interest in that whatsoever, of course. The culture shock of her unexpected arrival was bad enough. The subsequent arrest and questioning by the guards was no better. And once her fledgling knowledge of magitech – vast, in comparison to the Lords of Waterdeep – was discovered, her “recruitment” into Force Grey was swift and decisive.
Well, she supposed, fingering the badge marking her as a member of the faction, it was better to have been recruited than thrown into this world’s jail. There were little signs of familiarity here and there, ever reminding her of the Tenth District. The corruption… the accumulation of wealth… the abuse of power. No, it was better to curry the Blackstaff’s favor, than fall on the wrong side of the law in this strange new world.
And so, here she was… on assignment for Force Grey, to deal with whatever unpleasantness the natives were unwilling to dirty their hands with. Maybe with some effort, she could earn herself a name and a rank, and some actual, bona fide respect from her peers.
Haven't played Dragon Heist, but I did watch a small amount of a playthrough... I believe the villain was Jarlaxle? To be honest I don't remember most of it, so I should be relatively spoiler-free!
Stat Gen: I'm fine with using Point Buy on this one.
Name: Tuuli Ausrussa Race: Wood Elf Class: Ranger (working towards Beast Master, using new Primal Companion option) Background: Outlander
Backstory: A wanderer by heart, Tuuli follows where the wind may take her. She left her forest home quite a few years ago, driven to explore the world around her. Strangely, she claims that the wind speaks to her and guides her - and at times warns her of coming catastrophes. While she tends to be uncomfortable in large settlements, the winds have pointed her to Waterdeep for some reason unknown even to her. Perhaps she can find like-minded people among the Emerald Enclave she's heard rumors about?
I'd love to utilize the alternate class features shown in Tasha's and build Tuuli as a Wisdom-focused Ranger, using Druidic Warrior to get Shillelagh and shake it up in melee. I also picture that most of her spells will be distinctly wind-themed, and that her Primal Companion would mostly present as a Beast of the Sky (a hawk with Auran glyphs named Vanek).

Shonir Myev
Half-Orc
Fighter (probably samurai but depends on the party and the role Shonir has taken among them)(I doubt she will do this before 5th level but she would love to become a paladin but doesn't think she is good enough)
Guild Merchant
Shonir Myev grew up in Waterdeep. She always looked up to the adventurers she saw in town. No matter how strange or weird they looked, they were hailed as heroes as they came back from a quest. Being a half-orc, she was often made fun of, beaten up, or feared by her peers. But no matter what was going on during her day, her spirits would always rise when she saw a big strong adventurer returning. As she grew older she picked up her parents job and joined the Bakers' Guild. Their bakery was very close to the Yawning Portal. Most every evening after work, Shonir would hurry over and watch the adventurers in the tavern, wishing she could one day be like them. One day, an old regular of the Tavern, a retired adventurer, came over to where she was standing in the doorway, watching, and asked, "Little one, what is your name? I see you here many a night, do you want to become an adventurer like us?" The old man, Morgan, took her under his wing and taught her what he could. Everyday after helping her parents in the bakery, she would hurry over to his place. There he taught her how to swing a sword and axe, and trained her in the basics of adventuring. Feeling more sure of herself, she has started taking up odd jobs within the city. However, she is still very nervous and has yet to take on any jobs of actual significance.
Shonir is nervous and shy. She wants to prove herself and help others but fears how people will react to her. Her main goals are to become a fully fledged adventurer and become a stronger person, not only physically but mentally as well.
She would fit in very well in the Lord's Alliance, Harpers, or Force Grey.
Hello everyone,
Thank you again for the applications.
A couple of reminders:
- The thread is open until Jan. 28.
- Everyone starts at level 1
Also, I apologize for not saying this before. Please refrain from DMing me your character ideas. I know some DMs let players do it for applications. It's just easier for me to view them on here. Thanks. - Al
I have an intelligence of six, I know what I'm doing.
I have a few characters
Name- Vur
Race- Half-orc
Class blood Hunter, order of the lycan.

Name: Arion Anordil Sianstacia
Race: Wood Elf
Class: Cleric (Light Domain)
Faction: Emerald Enclave
Backstory: Arion's family was nobility in Myth Drannor a long time ago. He personally was born and raised in a small shack in the forest, but he carries the pride of his noble blood. He decided at a young age to follow Corellon. Finding a strong aptitude for divine magic, he has decided to leave the temples and spread good and smite evil through the world.
Why in Waterdeep: He heard tales of Undermountain, and currently plans to challenge it when he has attained the necessary skill.
Ouch. A 4. Can I reroll that one?
Hello there! :)
Iiloryn Vae'lia
Race: Moon Elf (High Elf)
Class: Rogue (Inquisitive), multiclassing into Ranger (Hunter) and Wizard (Divination) later (trying to capture the feel of an Evereskan Tomb Guardian from 3.5)
Ability scores: Going with point buy

Name: Cardos Creed
Class: Bard
Race: Tiefling
Faction: N/A
Backstory: Cardos grew up in one of I’m sure the many orphanages in the city of Waterdeep.

Background: City Watch(Investigator)

Backstory and Why you're in Waterdeep: Alberich has lived his whole life in Waterdeep, his family having moved there a couple generations back. He was a big fan of murder mysteries as a youngster, which led him to wanting to work as an investigator. He worked hard, and after first getting in as a regular watchman, soon advanced into his dream job. He has been at it for a while, and is starting to become disillusioned with how little one can actually achieve in the position. Recently, he was approached by Force Grey and offered a place in the Grey Hand, which he felt was just what he had wanted.

Name : Carric Cithreth
Race : High Elf
Class : Rogue (aiming for Arcane Trickster)
Background : Criminal / spy
Faction : Harpers
Background and why I'm in Waterdeep :

Name Rowan
I can't add an image, so he looks like this.
Race: Eladrin(DMG Variant)
Class: Ranger
Background: Outlander
Sheet
Experience: I played the first scene once, but the campaign died after that. I'm in CST and this would be my first PBP. I've played 5e since 2016 and 3e before that, as well as a little bit of AD&D.
I have a weird sense of humor.

Name: Tamasin Tallbloom
Gender/Race: Female Human
Class: Rogue (Assassin)
Characteristics: Creativity. I never run the same con twice; I owe everything to my mentor--a horrible person who’s probably rotting in jail somewhere; I’m convinced that no one could ever fool me the way I fool others.
Faction: Zhentarim
Background:
Personality: Tamasin is a trained killer, but doesn’t think of herself as evil. She has compassion for those who are suffering, and disdains unnecessary cruelty. Indeed, she is generally liked by her neighbors. Still, she is not burdened by moral qualms, as her chosen profession clearly indicates.
(fyi I have no familiarity with the campaign).
I've played Waterdeep before, we made it to the end of the campaign and are currently level 10's in the Dungeon of the Mad Mage sequel. However I missed the start of the campaign and I kind of want to know how it all began, hence, rollin'. Character creation after I see stat possibilities!
Ability scores: 17 15 15 13 12 7

Hi there!
Haven't played Dragon Heist, but I did watch a small amount of a playthrough... I believe the villain was Jarlaxle? To be honest I don't remember most of it, so I should be relatively spoiler-free!
Stat Gen: I'm fine with using Point Buy on this one.
Name: Tuuli Ausrussa
Race: Wood Elf
Class: Ranger (working towards Beast Master, using new Primal Companion option)
