"Ship could sink stranding us here for who knows how long," Druquilla adds crouching down next to Aubric patting him on the back. "Least everyone is okay by the looks of it, hopefully luck keeps on our side."
Gintarou sinks down to the ground. By the way, he just sits down not literally sinking. Rising his face to the sky and sighs. "Mother nature is scary. Even sands try to kill us. Thanks for saving my friend Blux-dono. Now give my glaive. I'll poke around the ground so that none fall in the damning pit again." Gintarou is going to lead the party while he uses his polearm like white cane and checks the ground.
"Want to fly to the top of the tree line and see what is surrounding us? I will try keep hidden as much as possible so as not to give away where we are, if there is anyone else around." Kraven will ask.
I am going to assume that Kraven does fly. Looking around the woods are thick, there are a few clearing, but there is no clear signs of other people in the area, on the nearly clear other side of the island is a large camp site, you can not see it but you can see the effects: smoke, birds avoiding the area, and a clearing of trees. The Compass is not pointing in the direction of the camp site. The Volcano's smoke is getting thicker and darker.
Landing back down near the group, "Looks to be some sort of large camp to the right of us up that a way." Pointing to their SW, "and it appears the compass is pointing in the same general direction but bypasses the camp. I suggest we move along the coast along the tree line a bit and then head inward, hopefully when the compass is not pointing as close to the camp as it does seem a bit large."
Mist shakes the sand from his shaggy mop of hair and pats himself down. "This island seems to mean us harm, although..." he trails off, looking at the vivid colors of the potentially lethal flora and sandy beach now strewn with bloody corpses. "It isn't really short on charm!"
He snaps his fingers and the last of the sand flies off of him in a cloud leaving him squeaky clean. Patting his pockets to check for his belongings, he reaches deep into one and holds up a small object and calls to the group, "Anybody want a peanut?"
Realizing he's getting distracted from the task at hand, he looks down and realizes he's still holding a mysterious object he found in the sandpit. "Oh! And I found this thing...whatever it is." He holds up a rod of some kind and turns it over and around, examining it.
"Me!" Gintarou raises his hand to answer Mist. "I wanna peanut!" He looks at the golden compass and mutters."Let's avoid the camp even if we need to go a long way around. My back still hurts. Thanks to that woman's chain!"
(Awesome ty) Aubric will hand the rod back to Mist "This is a Rod of the Pact Keeper. It will make your spells more accurate and harder to resist. Also it will allow you to cast more of your magic"
"Much appreciated!" Gintarou happily munches the peanuts from Mist. "How about starting from the boat. We may find something inside it" He looks up at the smoking volcano and says. "…For some reason,I really like that sight. Have a bad feeling about the mountain"
No between Blux's and Aubric strength you two are able to get you free.

Unless Mist has some crazy reason to not do so, once the rock drops in it stops, then there is a pull and Mist comes out of the sand.

Spitting out sand Aubric mumbles under his breath "What is next, flame spurts or maybe extra large rodents....."
"Ship could sink stranding us here for who knows how long," Druquilla adds crouching down next to Aubric patting him on the back. "Least everyone is okay by the looks of it, hopefully luck keeps on our side."

You manage your way around, do you got the way of the broken rowboats or the other side?

Stepping closer to Mist Aubric eyes the object. "If we have a few minutes to spare I can tell us what this is."
"Me!" Gintarou raises his hand to answer Mist. "I wanna peanut!" He looks at the golden compass and mutters."Let's avoid the camp even if we need to go a long way around. My back still hurts. Thanks to that woman's chain!"
"Aye! I wouldn't mind the assist, Whiskers."
Mist tosses the stray pocket snack to the giant.

"This will take me about 11 minutes." Aubric takes the rod from Mist and begins to ritually cast Identify on it.
The rod is metal, plain, with an eagle's skull at the top.
After 11 minutes Aubric you know it to be a common Rod of the Pact Keeper.
We can retroactively say this happens before moving to the tree line. Which way are we moving the broken rowboat way or the other way?

(So an uncommon one give +1 what does a common one do?)
Correct, my bad I thought I typed uncommon.

Kraven respond to Gintarou, "Boat it is, moving out."
Kraven hesitates and then lands on the ground be wary of the sand and keeping a watch out for anything amiss.
