"A mouse? Wait, Mia, can that be your mouse?"Mihris considered herself close enough to nature (live in the grove teach you these things after all) but would not claim the ability to tell one mouse from another. "Anyway, it seems we need to cross the bridge and move into that tunnel."She pointed the tunnel on the other side.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Yes! It's him! Mike, I'm glad you're safe"Mia scoops Mike into her arms, and greets the little mouse with dried fruits and nuts."Redd,Mathis, this is Mike the mouse. Our party's scout and spy. I told him to follow Gerard and Ionna. The couple is near. Mike, can you tell me where they are?" Mia strokes the brave little creature's fur and asks him.
Jumping the wide gaps between the old and frozen wooden planks, Mike makes its way acoss the southeastern bridge and onto Mialee's hand, squaking and chattering as he makes himself comfortable. He rises to two feet as he is scooped up, looking at the others around, then briefly back the way he came, towards the dark tunnel at the top of the stony steps. He stares back at the elf and indeed the tiny beast does look tired, but also intent on chattering, moving his whiskers and pointing his head towards the tunnel. Seemingly frustrated at the lack of comprehension on the elf's part, Mike bites down at Mialee's thumb hard enough to leave a sore red mark.
Vanys looks ahead and notices the mouse in Mia's hand. Regarding it with a bit of confusion, he asks, "Is the mouse telling us anything? Or do we need to continue on to figure this out ourselves?" His voice isn't condescending, but it isn't particularly caring either, he seems to just be expressing a desire to get moving, and isn't really sure what the mouse can add to the situation.

"Ouch! Mike, that hurts!"Mia pulls her hand away. Breathing on her hurting finger, the little elf looks back at her friends with puzzled looks. " I think he wants to guide us to the tunnel. Miri, does the trail of herbs lead to the tunnel as well?"
((Mihris can confirm that yes, the trail of powders and bits of herbs circles to the end of the chamber to the east, where the stone steps rise to a small natural platform where the tunnel is, leading deeper into the rock to the northeast.))
"I can't believe Mousey made it all this weay. Well. Lets assume they know we're coming at this point. Prepare for an ambush or at least battle." As red stats that, he tries to take a closer look at the herbs and trails.
(Effectively I'm hoping I could roll investigate or Alchemy Tools, or herbalism tools and gain a sense of idea of what those kind of things are used for. I.e. Are we walking into a lot of fire, a lot of poison. Something commonly used in ritual sacrafices. Stuff that could help freeze things. Maybe its not native to the cold. Or maybe its healing poltice and they're injured. No clue if it'll give anything. but feels worthwhile to look at what the bad guys left behind while moving fast. 7 (Assuming INT as the stat for Alch or herbalism. All three options are a +5))
The herbs and powders are definitely not local, and by Red's knowledge they are commonly applied to religious rituals, most of them being expensive and commonly applied in a Hallow spell, though not specifically aligned with any single deity or chosen effect.
((sorry for the lack of posts, PC's motherboard may have died and writing on the phone sucks 😑 fixing asap))
"A Hallow spell? Guess we never asked what exactly she was going to do..." Mihris shook her head and moved toward the tunnel. "We need to hurry - for good or for bad, we need to find Mithann and either help her or stop the ritual those monsters are planning".

"I have a spell to communicate with Mike but it will take 10 minutes. I'm afraid we can't afford that time."Mia picks three stones from her waist pouch, following her friends and rushing toward the tunnel. "Van, you have the best eyes among us. Can you see something in that tunnel?"
Vanys nods and continues moving towards the tunnel. Even from the middle to back of the group, he uses his superior vision to try and ascertain what is ahead of them in the tunnel.
(Just a fact check on marching order. From my understanding.
Red: Mia and Vayns: Mihiris; Redd Mathis. Or are we not allowing the two to be behind us and prefer them in the middle? Does anyone else have order preference? This is just what it sounds like from me.
(Unsure. It sounded like Mia and Mike the Mouse were half leading us; but Red woudln't let the injured lead. I'm fine if you two wanted to switch. Mihiris can lead if they wish and Red follow up. )
(OOC: I thought Mia and the Harpers were at the rear of the party. The little druid is going to share her Magic Stone with the couple. Since they don't wear armor and are injured. Oh and I forgot to check their class!)
"Hey Redd, Mathis. Maybe I should ask you earlier, but what's your proficiency? Can you use any spell? "
(OOC: Order seems fine to me, Vanys would probably be somewhere in the middle for now. He wouldn't mind scouting ahead for a small period if they really wanted to, but unless anyone asks specifically, he would stay snug in the middle.)

“The mark of a successful DM is when you have caused more player deaths with doors than dragons, demons, or devils.”
The group makes it across the fragile bridge, the thin cold stream running its way southeast below. Nothing seems out of the ordinary, you see no hidden ambushers, though you do head very distant voices echoing from somewhere in the north or east, unable to precisely point the origin. The splashing sound of the creek and the howling wind above muffles most conversation, but Redd and Mathis are able to respond to Mialee's inquiring, Redd starts with a proud smile "Professional scoundrels and troublemak-" and his husband tugs his shirt and sneers at him, cutting in "Harper agents take many forms. We're trained in subterfuge, spying, and some combat. Though we're not spellcasters, no. We'd be happy to scout ahead if needed." proudly showing a sharp dagger that shines in the moonlight coming from the opening above. Circling back towards the eastern end of the chamber, up the stone steps, they now stand at a small natural platform and at the entrance of a long corridor, staring into the darkness. Vanys' shadowy vision reaches beyond Red's torch and to the end of the tunnel around 50 ft. to the east, where it seems to split north-south, and an eerie blue light shines from the southern entrance.
((PC is back up everyone :) though one of my RAMs is in hardware heaven now, RIP. Hope I got your marching order right, let me know))
Mihris steps into the tunnel, crouching down and checking the thin and loose trail, determining it indeed comes all the way to the end of the tunnel in a rushed scramble of mixed running steps, then sharply turns north to the unlit corridor. Mike the mouse chatters and hisses at the trail. Slightly into the tunnel, Mihris is also able to identify the voices echoing from further deep in the cavern, they do seem to be coming from the northern entrance, they sound like some argument, though too far away to be understandable.
((Whenever Redd and Mathis are available, you can just ask for their help in a roll they are roughly related to (like Perception, Persuasion, Deception, History... can't really imagine someone helping Steath without having to use their action to be stealthy themselves 🤔) and get advantage 👍))
