Phillip grins proudly as Evo goes in to pat him on the back. Then he realises, all to late, that he’s not wearing armour and Evo will touch his bare skin!! “Oh.. Nope! Oh no! No huh!.... I should have said!! I’m sorry mister E’vo! Are you okay?! I’m a little... TOXIC!! I can’t help it!”, he backs away, and flaps his feet against the marble floor as he skittles around, concerned...
”Oh my oh my! NO DON’T TOUCH ME!!!”, he protests if anyone approaches to console him.
"Oh! That's why you put on a glove before shaking my hand! I thought it was just that most folks object to moist handshakes. Don't worry Phillip, none of us will touch you, but don't feel like it's something you should change! It's in your nature, we'd not expect you to change that anymore than we'd expect any of us to change our nature."
If Evo looks wobbly, Gotur grabs him by the shoulder to steady him.

((Alton had mentioned he wanted to check out the Souk, so why don't I make that post now.))
#6 on the map, a quick stroll from prince Wakanga's villa is the Grand Souk.
The Grand Souk, or market, is the largest market in the city. Traders from up and down the Sword Coast come to this market to buy timber, spices, medicines concocted from jungle plants, dinosaur skulls and claws, iron, tiger pelts, carved ivory, Batiri and grung handiwork, colored feathers, tropical fruit, monkeys, plesiosaur meat, and all the other riches of Chult. Business begins before the sun comes up, and dealing doesn’t stop until well after darkness edges across the city. It’s a noisy, jostling, aroma-rich circus. Guards are numerous. Street performers and tabaxi minstrels add to the cacophony. Colorful awnings protect the market from sun and rain but also trap the heat and smells.
Everything listed in chapter 5 of the Player’s Handbook can be purchased in the Grand Souk (with a few exceptions).
Let me know what you might want to buy. I am happy to skip over RP here for the purchases if you are. Or the opposite if you desire.
((I had mentioned earlier that Chult seems to put a higher value on things, but then in this case, they make no mention of the prices changing. Let's assume I didn't say that, and that there could be other less expensive inns in the city (which is true!) ))
((Also, as a bit of info - the merchant princes have monopolies on all merchandise sold in the city. Each of them have their specific category of merch. You can get all of the "basic" or "normal" stuff above from the regular markets which roll up to the given merchant prince, and you are likely able to get more interesting/better items from each of the given category merchant princes if you see them directly.))
“I’m sorry! He should be okay! Uh huh... Just a little woozy for a bit! Yup yup!..... Just don’t go operating heavy machinery for a while... Or attempting anything too dexterous... hmmmm... or walking to fast... Nuh-huh... Nope”. Phillip looks at the floor a little ashamed and then back up, realising that no one is being too hard on him. “Some people quite like the effects, actually... uh huh, uh huh, yup!.... but it’s not recommended! Nope nope nope! Nuh-huh!.....”.
"I can see how being poisonous could be handy in a place where there's a lot of things that'd like to eat you! I suppose it's not enough to kill them, but might help to slow them down and give you a chance to scramble away! Does it work on all creatures around here?"
Nature: 7
Thought I should have him roll a Nature check before sharing player knowledge, but toxic species are often specialized on by predators that are resistant to the toxins.
Also, poison dart frog toxicity comes from their diet! They eat ants and such that produce toxic compounds, and can safely store it in their skin.
Phillip is pleased the party seem interested in him and not mad. He explains, “Well,.. ffffff-ff-P’or every creature it works on, there’s another that it doesn’t! Uh huh, uh huh.... Some creatures are resistant to it, or immune! Yup, uh huh... ... Luckily, most of the annoying bugs leave me alone... and the ones that don’t, wellll... ...”. Just at that moment, a fly buzzes by, and Phillip’s tongue whips out and snatches it from the air. He smiles again, chewing slowly, and looks around the party, happy they haven’t ditched him off the back of the accidental poisoning.
”Touching the toxin is bad enough, but if it gets into your bloodstream... hmmm..... that’s when fff-things can get... ’complicated’!!... Uh huh, uh huh......”. He looks shy again. “Useful for hunting though!”, he says optimistically.
"Aye try not to do anything dext'rous if aye can avoid it Phillip!"
As they walk in the Souk he will try to see if there are any local spices for sale, otherwise he is content to just look for anything interesting or particularly nice.
((Oh sorry, you guys don't need to roll to see if you find stuff like that here. Almost everything from the link below is available for purchase. Evo, the consumables on the equipment list, specifically trade goods can all be considered local stuff including the spices))
Gotur, this interaction will take at least 30 minutes (I want to try to keep track of the time better!) so it will be a bit after 11am when the party leaves the Souk.
Anyone else have any other business in the Souk? Is the Harbor next? Will you be seeking out guides there, or looking to speak with the harbormaster, or something else?
Gotur pays rapt attention to the lessons, and if he thinks he might forget, he'll excuse himself to go buy a journal (unless the vendor is selling field guides) and take notes.
He'll buy two wildroot and a wukka nut. (-51 gold)
((Yes, think harbor was next, chat with harbormaster, see about alternate/additional guides.))

If Phillip is around for Gotur’s initial discussions and lessons with the herbalists, he would approach Gotur afterwards and offer, “Mister G’Tur?... If you need to look for plants.. uh huh?... and ingredients when we’re in the jungle??.... Yep? Hmmm?... ... .... I may be able to help you to ffff-P’orage... Hmm. Some species I may recognise, or know where they fff-thrive. Yup! Uh huh. Mm-hmm.... yup maybe!.. Can help!”. Once he’s got that out, he relaxes and smiles.
((OOC: Some of Phillip’s ranger abilities allow him to double his proficiency for WIS / INT checks while in forest/jungle))
"Oh, yes! Thank you Phillip. Between the two of us, I feel pretty good about our foraging!", he'll make sure Phillip gets a refresher on the herbs and plants the vendor is teaching about.
Gotur's Nature is nothing special, but he's solid at Survival checks.
