Eeriestill too far to effect either the polar bear or the foolish goblin releasing them, focuses on the occupant of the wagon trying to determine what sort(enemy or captive) it holds as a swirl or snow and icy wind flashes by her.
Initiative: Goblins 22, Thirteen 20, Carric 16, Polar bears 16, Eerie 14, Max 7, Virjor 4, Lucius 3
Carricsets off at an incredible pace towards the wagon, overtaking Eerie and getting within 30ft of the polar bears and their erstwhile cargo.
Maxheads off too, at a less nifty rate despite his arms and legs pumping away. Fine snow powder flies up in his wake.
The polar bears turn immediately on the goblinthat just released them, gutting him with razor-sharp claws and chewing at the body. Their muzzles and the surrounding snow are stained red as the goblin dies with a scream.
(Eerie’s turn)
(Max has left ‘base camp’, and is 70ft from Virjor and Thirteen. Eerie is 25ft the other side, then Carric after 65ft; 30ft further on is the wagon & freed bears, who are devouring the now-deceased goblin)
Eerie continues on her way to join the group watching the bears and the wagon for any activity. She believes it likely that the bears may still attack our group but won't provoke until she's sure. insight7 (passive 12)
Carric stops where he is when he sees the bears tear into the goblin. That was certainly not a merciful death delivered to the goblin! The tears on his mask reflect a slight change in his posture. But he supposes it was kind to free the captive bears, and his posture straightens once again.
He holds his position, crouched, blade in hand, ready to attack should the animals charge him.
Ready shortsword and unarmed strike; no action at the moment.

(The wagon is covered, sorry if this wasn’t clear or I didn’t mention it)
Eeriecontinues towards the wagon and bears, getting within 45ft of them (assuming you dash?). She tries to determine the intent of the bears but they are hard to read; they are currently focused on eating the poor goblin.
(I processed Max’s turn early, was already covered in post #1608 unless I missed something)
Virjorsprints across the snow towards the wagon, getting to within 50ft of the wagons. He is a curious sight, long-legged in snow shoes, galloping across the snow and throwing up fine powder in his wake.
Luciusreaches the wagon and dive-soars through the flap at the back.
@Virjor:
Lucius reports with alarm that there are three goblins in the wagon; one female and two males with shortbows)
Attack one on Lucius Attack: 12 Damage: 7
Attack two on Lucius Attack: 16 Damage: 7
Attack three on Lucius Attack: 20 Damage: 3
(Thirteen’s turn)
(Max > 70ft to Thirteen > 60ft to Virjor > 15ft to Eerie > 15ft to Carric > 30ft to wagon & bears)
Eerie watches somewhat hopelessly as Virjor heads for the wagon, not knowing its contents but sure to find out soon enough. The returns her attention to the bears. With their size, she's unlikley to hold them with vines, but at least the wand could help her slow them down or discourage them a little if they prove hostile towards the group.
Virjor shakes with rage, and calls to the others..."They are not prisoners, but monsters! They destroyed Lucius!!!" He then casts Sleep on the carriage, affecting all inside: 23hp pool
The furious wizard picks up his robes and continues his ungainly run towards the action. (30ft)
As Eerie and Max prepare to respond to any activity, Virjor casts his spell and there is confused chattering from within the wagon. a flap on the opposite side from you flips open and a female goblin leaps out, torch in hand, and runs east away from you as fast as she can.
Carric feels a momentary pang of sadness as he hears of the familiar's passing. Then, he quickly realizes that speed may be of the essence as the female goblin flees. He supposes they will need to catch her to get to the bottom of what's going on here. He heads after her at top speed...
OOC: Will wait to see results of where everyone ends up before his turn before getting specific with moves and actions.
Max's bolt flies high as he tries to adjust for the range. Carric sets off at an incredible pace and will catch the fleeing goblin unless Eerie wants to take an action.
(I know Eerie said she was holding; you can see the goblin and can take action if you wish, she was 45ft from you as she left the wagon)
Eeriepoints the wand of entangle targeting the area just ahead and slightly including the space the fleeing goblin is currently in and uses a charge so that it hits just as she's moving into the space. "Gotcha!" (Hopefully)
Eerie's arcane vines wrap around the goblin as she attempts to flee, holding her tight. Carric reaches her easily as she slumps with dejection and shouts "OK OK! You got me"
She drops her scimitar and tries to raise her hands as much as the vines allow. You can see that she is missing her right ear from a previous injury, the wound now healed.
(I'm dropping out of combat, feel free to post as you wish)
Carric holds up right at the edge of the writhing vines. He tilts his head to one side as he regards the goblin woman, the still expression of his mask perhaps looking a bit unsettling under these bizarre circumstances. His head silently pivots to check for signs of the bears, to ensure the massive beasts pose no danger to him and his comrades.
Perception 23
"Who are you and what are you doing here?"he calmly asks the goblin, assuming no bear attacks are imminent.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Thirteen steps in close to the wagon, sword still drawn and shouts, "Anyone inside, I suggest you drop any weapons and make your way out slowly. Any attempt at running and you will be cut down. My sword is very very thirsty...."

Eerie still too far to effect either the polar bear or the foolish goblin releasing them, focuses on the occupant of the wagon trying to determine what sort(enemy or captive) it holds as a swirl or snow and icy wind flashes by her.
Seeing the goblins dealt with, Virjor leaps up bravely (from where he was quietly hiding) and takes a full dash towards the wagon and bear. 60ft
Lucius take his full flying distance to reach the wagon (can be up to 120ft I think) and uses his passive perception to peer inside: 13

"Oh no! Not Lucius" cries Max. He tries to get closer and aims at the goblin (@DM, let me know if I need to roll again with disadvantage)
Attack: 5 Damage: 8
Thirteen hears the cries of Virjor, and for a moment feels the imaginary pressure of the winged creature on his shoulder again.
He leans into his sprint further and makes as much ground as he can towards the wagon drawing his sword in a fluid motion as he nears.
Action, and movement for 60ft
@DM can Eerie see the fleeing goblin from where she is?
