Hello good people of DNDBeyond, could you help me clarify something?
A player has both the Tavern Brawler feat and Unarmed Fighting Style, and currently has four separate unarmed strike attacks on his character sheet. Regular unarmed strike has become a 1d4+Str because of the Tavern Brawler. The Tavern Brawler Strike is also a 1d4+Str. The hit die from Fighting Style: Unarmed Fighting - adds another unarmed attack with a 1d8+Str while unarmed, anda last one with 1d6 attack while holding a weapon.
I would argue that Fighting Style: Unarmed Fighting overrides the d4 damage die of the Tavern Brawler Feat, making all unarmed attack damage either a d6 if the character is holding a weapon or shield, or a d8 for all damage rolls if the character is completely unarmed.

Would I be wrong in ruling this?
Technically, they are all options and the PC can choose which damage die to use if conditions are met.
