Weird question short story, rogue Mephistopheles Tiefling ''Flame Blade'' says ''You evoke a fiery blade in your free hand. The blade is similar in size and shape to a scimitar'' Sneak attack says ''1d6 damage to one creature you hit with an attack if you have advantage on the attack roll. The attack must use a finesse or a ranged weapon.'' Does The spell ''Flame Blade'' Count or would It be a bit rule-breaking or would that fully be up to the DM i have as it does not specifically state anything? (at least from what I can tell)
Or you could use the cantrips from Tasha’s (or was it Xanthar’s?) that add damage to your weapon attack. By the way, don’t you guys think it’s a little overpowered, especially for a rogue (artificer initiate background), since they can use it all the time and still sneak attack? (Which you can do because the spell says make an attack and the rogue feature say ‘once per round when you make an attack’)

They're from Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide but were re-published in Tasha's.

It's a good combo but comes with the drawback of only giving you one chance to hit (and therefore Sneak Attack) compared to two-weapon fighting, while ranged Rogues get to stay further away from danger and have more freedom to hide. It's only clearly superior to using a single melee weapon.

The "blade" cantrips are good, but still require a weapon (which the thread is about conjuring a weapon with magic).
And I don't see how being once per day or requiring a level 2 spell slot to create a weapon that does 1 die more damage than a normal weapon is overpowered. There are stronger permanent class features...

Flame blade grants a spell attack. It doesn’t create a weapon. There’s no interaction with sneak attack.
Damn, Well thanks mate! :)
If you want a similar spell that does let you sneak attack, shadow blade does nicely.
I was going to mention this.
