Good answer about flavor. If a player insists on this bit about objects stored in the body, I'd allow a cool trinket or two to be seen shifting around inside. But not as a pocket to hold and retrieve actual equipment.
*Races from the Unearthed Arcana playtest “Travelers of the Multiverse” are available for play in Spelljammer Academy adventures prior to August 16, which must then be updated to the rules present in Spelljammer: Adventures in Space when playing on or after August 16.
I think you should be able to store items in your body, because they can in spelljammer with cavities can be used to carry items! that's also how their "Holding breath" works, by storing up to an hour air inside of themselves, of course I believe it's Vague in D&D because they want you to play around with the idea more or come up with your own means of doing so, but I think it would make sense that a plasmoid can hold an item inside of itself. especially since if that wasn't the case it would be nearly impossible to bring items with you when you're in your non-humanoid form, and as someone who loves RP and balance I feel like dropping almost all of your equipment because you wanted to be a little ball for a while seems unfair. and if it isn't increasing your max carry weight, letting you do things faster than others, or changing anything at all other than where you store a small handful of items, then I personally see no harm in it, I would most certainly limit it though, Like it has to realistically fit in you, I could see someone with a digger in their arm and a short sword in their torso and their body having coins scattered around.

makes sense. I don't like the idea of completely negating the purpose of a backpack due to flavor.
Well, the Plasmoid is from Spelljammers: Adventures in Space book.
It’s a sentient bowl of jelly, it doesn’t need to make sense. Mine is blue and tastes of vodka.
