So I have a scenario and I'm unsure who the rules work ..
PC with 2 failed death saving throws, and someone uses a healers kit to stabilize this PC, does it matter that there have already failed 2 death saving throws, or does a use of the healers kit just stabalize the PC?
The number of passed or failed deaths saves isn't relevant to the use of the Healer's Kit to stabilize the character, as long as the character isn't dead yet.
Yea stable is stable, having failed death saves doesn't change that.
The interesting question is what happens if you take more damage, do you keep going from two failed saves or do you start over from 0? I'd probably have it stay on two failed until it has gained some HP, either from healing or from the "1D4 hours" or something.

i agree stable is stable regardless of how its achieved.
Regarding your question, the number of both success and failure is reset to zero when you regain any hit points or become stable.
The best way to save a creature with 0 hit points is to heal it. If healing is unavailable, the creature can at least be stabilized so that it isn't killed by a failed death saving throw.
You can use your action to administer first aid to an unconscious creature and attempt to stabilize it, which requires a successful DC 10 Wisdom (Medicine) check.
A stable creature doesn't make death saving throws, even though it has 0 hit points, but it does remain unconscious. The creature stops being stable, and must start making death saving throws again, if it takes any damage. A stable creature that isn't healed regains 1 hit point after 1d4 hours.
Basically the healers kit allows skipping the medicine check.
