Just curious, but Kensei Monk gets to use their Kensei weapons but does it allow for those to be used for Fury of Blows? Otherwise dual wielding Kensei seem kinda out of the question. I know the description for Fury says Unarmed but I'm not certain if that is still true with Kensei subclass.

Why would that question have a different answer for the Kensi subclass than it would have for any other Monk subclass (or any character for that matter)???
That said I don't see what the problem here is. The rules for unarmed strikes clearly allow for them to be made in ways that doesn't involve using your hands so it should still be doable while dual wielding or using a two-handed weapon.
Instead of using a weapon to make a melee weapon attack, you can use an unarmed strike: a punch, kick, head-butt, or similar forceful blow (none of which count as weapons). On a hit, an unarmed strike deals bludgeoning damage equal to 1 + your Strength modifier. You are proficient with your unarmed strikes.
Thanks, I was just curious, I don't have much experience in monk (or unarmed in general) so wanted clarification. I didn't know about the unarmed being able to apply to kicks, etc.
Related question, can Kensei take a pistol as part of their Kensei weapon? it doesn't appear to be an option in the character builder but I don't see it as a restriction "any simple or martial weapon that lacks the heavy and special properties."
Use of firearms in any campaign is DM fiat. Per the DMG, it's purely case-by-case basis, not tied to class proficiencies for anyone but Artificers; they're essentially their own distinct item type alongside Simple and Martial. A gun-fu monk does sound like a cool concept, but it's the DM's prerogative to green light it or not.
If the DM has introduced those types of weaponry in the game, and those weapons options lack the limiting properties for monk weapons then they could be used.
there are a few options in the DMG for modern weaponry that could be utilized. Weapons in the game could also be reskinned as guns depending on the games theme.
im currently playing a four elements monk with a water affinity and using Tasha’s I swapped a martial proficiency for a warhammer proficiency. Been describing the warhammer as a boat oar. Whip as a cane pole with fishing line.
I see, since it doesn't fall under "martial" but "firearm" that could explain why the character generator doesn't show it, that sucks. DM can overrule of course not I'm not sure how well it would work in DnDBeyond sheets without some weird working. I may just look to reflavor hand crossbow as a pistol since it is eligible.

What they said. You are a martial artist, not a boxer. Kick, knee, elbow, head butt etc
