Just wondering if anyone knows the specific ruling about Dwarven Resilience:
Dwarven Resilience. You have advantage on saving throws against poison, and you have resistance against poison damage
So, does that mean, when hit with a particular poison where if the target passes the saving throw and is only dealt half damage, that because Dwarves already have resistance to poison damage, that the half damage they took is halved? It's the only conclusion I can come up with because if Dwarves are already resistant to poison damage, why bother with the advantage on the saving throw against poison to begin with? Or am I interpreting this race feature wrong?

Yes.

Not every poison deals damage when you fail the saving throw. It might inflict the poisoned condition, put you to sleep, stun you, or anything else the DM comes up with.
A saving throw against poison is not always done for the damage but also for the poisoned condition.
But, in the case of poison damage, dwarves take a quarter of the initial damage if they succeed the save. Halved once for the save, halved one more time for the resistance.
LOL, was really hoping someone would say, actually that is incorrect it's not that at all... In my last campaign this past weekend, I was a dwarven cleric/rogue character. Our group of six faced this halfling assassin. He straight up one-shot killed our elven rogue with a crossbow bolt with god only knows what poison it was dipped in. Fast forward how the combat was going (which was not good for our party)....In a last ditch effort to help the other players survive I decided to just go one on one with him to buy the others more time to escape. I knew it was suicide but there was no chance I was going to be able to successfully flee from him. Let's just say...a certain player, who was playing a dwarven cleric/rogue, completely forgot all about the dwarven resilience the ENTIRE time. Ugh... Not that it would've changed a great deal, it would've at least I think given more players a chance to successfully run. In the end, only two of the six escaped, LOL.
