This came up in our game. Polearm Master gets a OA when a creature enters his reach of 10. If the creature gets tripped and has to get up and move an additional square next turn to attack the player. Does the Polearm Master get another OA?
If the question is if moving from 10 feet away to 5 feet away from somebody with PAM triggers an opportunity attack, then no (assuming the weapon has reach). PAM triggers when somebody enters your reach, so if your reach is 10 they can move around all they want within that 10 foot radius.

Look at what you've done. You spoiled it. You have nobody to blame but yourself. Go sit and think about your actions.

The usual way you can get multiple opportunity attacks is if the enemy never closes to within 5 feet, or you have ways to get away from it (or don't care about getting opportunity attacks in return).
For example, I have a Swarmkeeper Ranger with Polearm Master and Sentinel, so when a creature enters their reach they can opportunity attack, and if they hit the creature's speed becomes 0, meaning it's stuck at 10 feet away, so the Ranger can attack and move 5+ feet away and the process repeats until the enemy decides to stop trying to close the distance. If the reaction doesn't land (enemy does close the distance) I can use Gathered Swarm to move away with a 5 foot shunt on my turn.
This makes for a pretty reliable reaction attack against less intelligent enemies that keep trying to close the distance, or intelligent ones with no other choice, though if an ally is in danger I may stay in range and try to get the Sentinel reaction attack instead (other creature within 5 feet is attacked).

Polearm Master gives you an opportunity attack when an enemy enters your reach. So if an enemy triggers your attack of opportunity at 10ft, falls down and finishes the approach on its next turn, it doesn't trigger another attack of opportunity by moving from 10ft away from you to 5ft.
If you have an ability that allows your attack of opportunity to knock an enemy down and push it away, or if you move away before it comes back to that enemy's turn, then on its next turn it will trigger a new attack of opportunity when it approaches to within your reach.
I´m a new player to dnd and I have a question about the the polearm master opportunity attack. How many times can I use it? I´ve read that I can use it once per round, but whose round, exactly? For example, if I am attacked by more than one enemy (not at the same time) can i use an opportunity attack against each one of them as soon as they enter my reach?

Also, to clarify, a "round" is for everyone, a "turn" is for each individual.
A turn is where an individual acts (mainly). You don't mix turns, they are taken sequentially. A round starts with the turn of the individual that has the highest initiative and ends when everyone involved has had their turn.
I´m currently playing a warforged battlemaster in CoS.and I was having trouble interpreting this feat. We haven´t had have many encounters so far so I wasn´t able to test it properly with the DM. (I didn´t want to bother him until the situation arised)
I just had this discussion with my DM today. Some say It's one OA per round. I think it's one OA per turn. I argued that I'm not taking the OA on my turn, it's before the enemies turns. Therefore, if I get surrounded by 4 enemies, I should get 4 OAs with PaM. Everything else is on a per turn basis. Melee and ranged attacks are turn based. Spells are turn based. My argument failed.

You only get one reaction, and it resets at the start of your turn, ergo it's a once per round thing. Getting a reliable reaction attack is already powerful, as it's potentially an extra attack every single round; there's no need to go fishing for more.

As it bloody well should. You use your reaction to make an opportunity attack. And you normally only have one reaction available to you, thus you can only make one OA.

Standing up from prone doesn't provoke an Opportunity Attack, nor is movement within reach of the polearm as it is not entering or leaving it.
Hey there, people.

Thank you for your help
An attack of opportunity costs you your reaction. Your reaction recharges with your next turn.
So, unless you have an Cavalier Fighter, only one AoP per round.
Also, to clarify, a "round" is for everyone, a "turn" is for each individual.
A turn is where an individual acts (mainly). You don't mix turns, they are taken sequentially.

Thank you so much! You were very helpful.

2 is the most Opportunity Attack you can do in 1 round, one before your turn comes up and another after it.
