In regard to the lv1 ability for this critical role subclass:
"Starting at 1st level, your divine magic draws the blood from magically inflicted wounds, worsening the agony of your foes. When you cast a damage-dealing spell of 1st level or higher whose duration is instantaneous, any creature with blood that takes damage from the spell takes extra necrotic damage equal to 2 + the spell’s level. (No Action)"
The ability was cleary designed to add about a dice worth of damage to instant AOE spells, but the way I'm reading the wording, it sounds to me like it could be open to have an almost hexblades curse effect in regards to spells that have multiple attack/damage rolls like scorching ray or magic missile. Like, say either was cast at level 2, wouldn't it be reasonable to read that each projectile would deal an extra 4 necrotic points of damage, even if they were all focused on one target? (Provided the target had blood). I see a lot of coverage on the feature saying the damage would only occur one time per creature rather than per damage occurrence, but I feel like I'm not seeing that limitation in the wording.
Looking at the wording, it seems like the trigger is casting the spell rather than each instance of damage, but ultimately I don’t think there’s any cases where the damage boost would be high enough relative to the spell level to be significant.
